Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Relaxing Things
Makima's vision became blurry, obscured by the dust. Once the dust settled, Fami had vanished from the rooftop, leaving no trace.Around them, fragments of the collapsed hotel building lay scattered everywhere. The air was filled with the pungent smell of smoke and dust. Rescue personnel rapidly swarmed in, accompanied by hurried footsteps and the buzzing of medical equipment.
Kobeni and Arai Hirokazu, yelling, were carried onto a Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division ambulance.
Hayakawa Aki moved through the ruins, found the Eternal Devil's enormous corpse, climbed onto it, and precisely cut open the strange Möbius-strip-shaped heart within the devil's body with her katana, carefully extracting a piece of the Gun Devil's flesh.
"Renji Kuroda! Found it! Thanks to you!"
Hayakawa Aki was excited, running excitedly towards Renji Kuroda. However, as she approached, she realized that Renji's gaze was not focused on her, but fixed on the rooftop of a distant building.
"Hmm...? Oh, right, but it's not just my credit. Everyone contributed, did you forget? Didn't I ask what you were all doing ten minutes ago? If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to get out alone."
Hayakawa Aki followed Renji's gaze, looking at the empty rooftop.
"What are you looking at? Is there anything special there?"
"It's the Hunger Devil, Fami. She was just standing on that rooftop, tilting her head and looking at me."
"Huh?"
Hayakawa Aki instinctively tightened her grip on her weapon.
"It's fine. She just suddenly disappeared like magic when she saw us come out," Renji said, looking at Makima, who was walking towards them not far away.
At the Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division Headquarters, in Makima's office.
The atmosphere was serious. Hayakawa Aki stood straight, meticulously reporting the process and outcome of the mission to Makima, while Renji listened quietly beside her.
"The Hunger Devil, named Fami... Sigh, this is really a headache."
Makima leaned weakly back in her seat, gently supporting her head with her hands. Her face was etched with exhaustion, looking like a typical, utterly overwhelmed ordinary leader tormented by various complex matters of life.
Renji saw her like this and knew she was acting for Hayakawa Aki. She was truly putting on a good show. Isn't the Hunger Devil your older sister? How could you two not know each other?
However, Renji had no intention of directly pointing it out. The reason was that at this point in the timeline, Makima's true identity had not yet been exposed, and most people were completely unaware of her important identity as the Control Devil, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
After completing her report, Hayakawa Aki left the office, gently closing the door. Makima finally changed her posture, crossing her hands, and looked at Renji.
"Renji, two nights from now, Special Division Against Devils Section 4 will hold a welcoming party for new recruits. Will you come?"
Makima suddenly asked, her voice soft.
"A welcoming party? Hmm..."
Renji was slightly taken aback. He had expected Makima to ask if he knew more about the Hunger Devil, but instead, she invited him to a welcoming party.
Renji thought for a moment, then finally nodded. "Two nights from now... Alright, I don't have anything else to do anyway."
Makima noticed that Renji's mood seemed off and looked puzzled.
"You seem preoccupied. Is it lingering fear from your first mission?"
"Huh? No."
"Understanding and empathizing with your subordinates' feelings is also part of a leader's job. Maybe you can get paid leave?"
Makima said. Renji rubbed his head, thinking, Anyway, you won't understand, so it doesn't matter.
He said helplessly,
"Actually, I'm wondering if I've been caught in a huge conspiracy. Never mind the characters from the first part, but I didn't expect the characters from the second part to appear early too. And most importantly, I might become the central figure of this conspiracy. Now, forget about completing the main quest; I don't even know what the side quests have turned into. This feeling is really annoying."
"Right now, only characters from one world have appeared. If characters from other worlds also start appearing en masse and getting involved in the future, I don't even know how chaotic it will become."
As he spoke, Renji felt a bit distressed, looking up at the ceiling.
"Sometimes, I really feel like I'm being played by fate, a pure prank. That day, I was just strolling down the street when I suddenly met Eris. She didn't even ask for my opinion, if I wanted to come, and then everything changed."
"Now... I wonder how my family is doing, especially my sister. I don't know how she is now."
Ding~ Detected Makima's bewildered emotion. System rewards 10 points.
Renji finished in one breath. Makima listened quietly. She did not understand the deeper meaning of Renji's words; one could even say she didn't understand them at all.
After Renji finished speaking, Makima rubbed her chin, thinking.
"It seems you've been under a lot of stress lately. Your words are a bit hard to decipher."
Renji smiled, thinking, Of course you wouldn't understand.
"What I mean is, I feel very tired and want to relax properly."
"Hmm..."Makima thought for a moment, then slowly took off her black coat, carefully straightened its hem, and gently folded it with elegant and composed movements, placing it on the office desk.
After tidying up, she raised her head, her gaze gently fixed on Renji Kuroda, and slightly extended her right hand, waving it gently to him, signaling Renji to come closer.
Renji stood still, hesitating for a moment, not moving."Don't be afraid, come here."Renji still took a step, his footsteps slightly heavy. As he got closer, Makima suddenly made a move.
The sound of books sliding from the bookshelf, the sound of a chair sliding on the floor, and the sound of the office desk being gently pushed open, all clearly echoed in the empty office.
Makima took Renji's hand, then placed it onto her two large, jello-like mounds.
Instantly, Renji felt the soft touch between them.Makima's hand began to slowly apply pressure. As her strength increased, Renji's fingers gradually sank into the elastic jello. His fingers felt as if they had entered a marvelous new world. The voluptuous flesh seemed alive, continuously squeezing Renji's fingers inwards, the flesh surging inwards.
"Relax... There are many ways to relax, but for Renji Kuroda, I think this is the most suitable way for you."
A barely perceptible trace of panic suddenly appeared in Makima's tone, but it quickly returned to normal. Her arm wrapped around Renji's waist, gently embracing him with a strange sense of intimacy and control.
Then, maintaining this posture, she quickly turned around, as if in a dance, pressing Renji onto the soft chair she had been sitting on.
Renji leaned back in the chair. Makima leaned forward slightly, resting her hands on Renji's shoulders, looking down at him.
Renji's face was flushed, filled with panicked and shy expressions. He was faking it.He squeezed his fingers hard.
At this, Makima's expression suddenly changed for an instant. That self-satisfied expression, believing she was taming Renji like a dog, was hit, and she trembled uncontrollably.
