Chapter 205: Chapter 205 : Dance of the Dragon and the Lioness
The corridor on the 75th floor of I-Island Tower was cold and silent, a terrifying contrast to the chaos unfolding in the sublevels and the battle raging outside. Here, the air felt thin, filled with the faint hum of advanced computer systems and the tension before a fight. Three Yozakura figures stood between them and their goal, their postures relaxed yet deadly, like sword blades ready to be drawn.
"The traitor sends children to do her work now? Pathetic," the Yozakura leader said, his cold voice echoing in the deserted corridor.
Leone grinned, a low growl vibrating in her chest. "You'd better worry about yourself, Mr. Mask," she retorted. "Because these kids are about to kick your ass back to the feudal era."
There were no more words.
The fight exploded in an instant. The Yozakura leader, whom we'll call Jin, shot forward, his ninjato sword aimed directly at Akame's neck—a fatal mistake as he was attacking an Akame who wasn't there. His target was Tatsumi; he had misjudged. However, his two smaller, more agile comrades moved like twin shadows at his sides. One threw a barrage of kunai with small explosive tags at their tips, while the other vanished in a flash and reappeared behind Leone, ready to strike.
This wasn't a random fight. It was a coordinated attack designed to separate and annihilate.
But they weren't fighting amateurs.
Leone, with her animalistic instincts, sensed the movement behind her even before the attacker appeared. She spun around, her clawed arm swiping through the empty air where the attacker was about to materialize. A short-range teleportation Quirk. Dangerous. "Dragon Boy, one of them is a jumper!" she roared as a warning.
Tatsumi, on the other hand, didn't try to dodge the exploding kunai. He raised his armored arm, letting the small explosions impact his armor without causing any significant damage. He was a walking fortress. His attention was focused on Jin, the leader. He knew from experience that in a team fight, cutting off the snake's head was the most effective strategy.
"You're slow," Jin hissed as he dodged a powerful swing from Tatsumi and countered with his vibrating blade. The sword struck Incursio's chest plate, creating a horrifying screech and sending a painful vibration through Tatsumi's entire body.
At the Command Post
At the safe house, Hawks and Akame watched the fight through the violently shaking video feed from Tatsumi's helmet.
"Damn, they're fast!" Hawks swore, his hand clenched into a fist. "That's no ordinary unit. They're a Yozakura hunter team."
Akame stared at the screen with cold intensity, recognizing every move, every tactic. "That's the 'Twin Blades of Wind and Thunder' style," she said softly, her voice laden with dark memories. "Two attackers striking in unison to confuse the target, while the leader looks for an opening for a fatal blow. They're an elite unit."
She pressed her communicator. "Hawks, relay this to them. Don't focus on the twins' blades. Focus on their feet. Their synchronized movement is their greatest strength and their greatest weakness. Break their rhythm."
Back to the Fight
"Leone, Tatsumi, listen up," Akame's voice came through their earpieces, clear amidst the chaos. "Don't try to fight the twins directly. Break their footing. Break their synchronization."
The command was like a bucket of cold water. They had been fighting on the enemy's terms. Now, they would fight on their own.
Leone grinned widely. "Breaking their footing? That's my specialty!"
She stopped trying to chase the teleporting shadows of the twins. Instead, she leaped high into the air, then slammed the polished marble floor with both fists with full force.
BOOM!
The floor beneath them shattered. Tiles cracked and buckled, creating an uneven and treacherous terrain. The Yozakura twins, who relied on speed and perfect footwork, suddenly stumbled as the ground beneath them became unstable. Their synchronization was broken.
That's when Tatsumi moved. Ignoring the twins who were now busy trying to keep their balance, he let out a roar that was more dragon than human and charged straight at Jin.
Jin, surprised by the sudden change in tactics, was forced to face a frontal assault of overwhelming power. His vibrating sword hummed as it parried a barrage of blows from Tatsumi's armored fists. But he was continuously pushed back. This was no longer an elegant dance. This was a brutal brawl between an unstoppable force and an immovable object.
Tatsumi didn't try to beat him with technique. He used pure power, each punch designed to push, to break defenses, to create an opening. He manifested a partial shield on his left arm to block a deadly thrust, then countered with a powerful kick that sent Jin staggering.
Seeing their leader in trouble, the twins tried to help. But Leone was already waiting. As one of them leaped towards Tatsumi, Leone caught him in mid-air, slammed him hard against a wall, then threw his unconscious body at his twin. The collision sent both of them down in a pathetic heap.
Now only Jin remained. Seeing both his comrades neutralized, and faced with a tireless dragon monster, he knew this fight was over. But he wouldn't give up. He made one last attack, a desperate thrust aimed directly at Tatsumi's helmet visor.
Tatsumi didn't dodge. He let the tip of the sword scrape against his helmet, then he caught Jin's arm with one hand. With his other hand, he slammed his fist into Jin's chest. There was a dull crack of bone, and the elite Yozakura guard finally collapsed, unconscious.
Silence returned to the now-destroyed corridor.
"PLF reinforcements from the sublevels are coming up!" Hawks' voice sounded, pulling them back to reality. "They're responding to the alarm from your fight! You have less than five minutes!"
There was no time to rest. "The door!" Tatsumi said.
They ran towards the locked Data Center door. Tatsumi dug his claws in and tore the door from its hinges. They entered the cold room filled with servers.
"The core server is at the back. Install the 'siphon'!" Hawks commanded.
Tatsumi found the main server rack and connected the device. A progress bar appeared on his visor. Time moved agonizingly slow.
Leone stood guard at the door, listening. "They're coming," she hissed. "I can hear their footsteps. A lot of them."

Tatsumi unplugged the device just as the first squad of PLF elite troops appeared at the end of the corridor, far more numerous than they had faced before.
"There's no way back!" Leone roared.
"The heat exhaust shaft!" Hawks shouted. "Behind the server rack! It's the only way out!"
Tatsumi didn't need to think twice. While Leone held back the enemy's charge with a震動 auman, he used his remaining strength to rip the entire server rack from the wall, revealing a gaping dark hole.
"Leone, now!" he shouted.
Leone leaped back from the fight, dodging a barrage of laser fire. Without a shred of hesitation, they both jumped into the deep darkness of the shaft.
Above, they heard the frustrated shouts of the PLF soldiers. They had gotten the grand prize. They had escaped the fight. And as they free-fell, Leone's wild laughter echoed again in the metal tunnel.
"NOW THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE AN EXIT, DRAGON BOY!"
