My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 713: Leon's Death - Part 1

"What's happening to me? Why is my heart beating so fast?" Liliana wondered silently, her brow slightly furrowed.

She clutched her left chest, feeling a tightness she couldn't explain.

It felt like a bad premonition—as if something terrible had happened to Leon.

Then, her eyes shifted to her right chest, and in an instant, her face turned pale.

The Demon Mark—the bond that connected her to Leon—had vanished completely.

"No... how is this possible?" she gasped, rising to her feet in horror.

Her body froze as fear spread like wildfire through her veins. The Demon Mark wasn't just any connection—it was a sacred and exclusive link that tied her soul to Leon's.

Through it, she could sense his condition without needing to see him in person.

Even when Leon ventured into the Holy Empire of Elysium to overthrow Velix or stood on the battlefield facing countless dangers, the mark had remained steady.

Its constant presence had always assured her that he was alive and well—the reason she never allowed herself to worry.

But now... it was gone. And that could only mean one thing—something had happened to Leon.

"No way! This has to be fake!" Liliana shook her head, gritting her teeth.

But no matter how hard she tried to deny it, the truth was right in front of her.

"I can't let this go. I have to contact Athena and Arshley!"

Her fists trembled at her sides, and her eyes brimmed with tears on the verge of falling.

A sharp pain stabbed at her chest, nearly driving her to despair—but she knew breaking down wouldn't help.

There was only one option now: she had to inform the other women who cared about Leon.

Without hesitation, she snapped her fingers—and in an instant, her figure vanished.

"Hehehe! I'm so happy~"

Lying on the bed, Fiona wriggled with joy, hugging a teddy bear tightly to her chest.

She had spent the day sightseeing around the capital and picking out all her favorite things.

But more importantly, she noticed her mother had changed. She used to be so busy with work—but now, she was more present, always making time to play with them.

It was a beautiful change—and Fiona couldn't be happier.

"You look really happy, Fiona. Is it because of the teddy bear?" A soft voice came from beside her.

Startled, Fiona turned to see Stella sitting with her legs folded, a gentle smile on her face.

"Um! I'm so happy, Sister. Mommy finally changed and cares about us so much!" she exclaimed, sitting up straight and nodding eagerly.

"Pfft!" Stella chuckled, unable to hold back her smile at Fiona's adorable expression. "That's good. I feel the same—Aunt Liliana has really gone out of her way to think of us. I'm happy about that too. Oh, and by the way..."

She reached to her side and picked up a pink scarf. It was thick and cozy-looking, with a cute bear stitched on one end.

"This is for you," she said, handing it to Fiona.

Fiona blinked in surprise, carefully accepting the scarf. Her wide eyes sparkled with curiosity as she asked, "Is this a scarf, Sister?"

"Mm-hm! It's a scarf," Stella replied with a soft nod. "You remember I've been knitting a lot this past month, right? Actually, I made scarves for you, Charlotte, Iris, Aunt Liliana, and Lyra."

She smiled sheepishly and scratched her cheek. "Winter's coming soon, so I wanted to keep everyone warm. But... I'm sorry if the scarves look ugly. I just—"

Before she could finish, Fiona interrupted, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"No, it's really nice! I love it!" she exclaimed, wrapping Stella in a tight hug. "Thank you, Sister!"

Hearing that sweet, childlike voice, Stella felt her heart melt. A gentle warmth bloomed in her chest, softening her completely.

Now she understood why Uncle Leon loved Fiona so deeply. This girl was just too precious.

She gently pinched Fiona's chubby cheeks and said with a soft smile, "You're welcome, Fiona. I'm glad you like it."

"Hehehe..." Fiona giggled, happily leaning into her sister's touch.

But then—her expression shifted.

Her smile vanished. Her eyes widened in horror, as if she had just seen a ghost.

Stella gasped, her voice tinged with worry. "Fiona? What's wrong? Why do you look like that?"

Fiona remained silent, her gaze blank and fixed on the open window to the right—like something unseen was calling to her from beyond.

Then, without warning, tears streamed down her cheeks.

In a hoarse, trembling whisper, she said, "Daddy... is dead..."

...

*Boom!*

A deafening burst of lightning echoed from outside as a dense, ominous black cloud blanketed the entire Dragon Empire.

Heavy rain poured without mercy, casting a dark, suffocating mood over the land.

Inside her study, Athena stood before the window, staring blankly at the stormy sky.

It had been a long time since she last saw Leon. But rather than fading, her longing only grew—gnawing at her heart like invisible claws tearing at her chest. Whispering voices she couldn't silence urged her to go find him.

Once, she would've done exactly that—chased him to the ends of the earth without a second thought. But now... she couldn't.

Leon was on an important mission—one that concerned the fate of the world.

If she interrupted him, he might get annoyed… or worse, begin to resent her.

But deep down, she knew that would never happen. Leon loved her. He would never hate her… Never!

Athena's red eyes gleamed with a sharp, almost obsessive light. Her breath grew heavy as thoughts of him flooded her mind.

"Leon..." she whispered, biting her lower lip.

*Buzz!*

Suddenly, the crystal orb on her desk lit up, its glow piercing through the gloom and snapping her out of her trance.

Athena turned, walked calmly to her chair, and sat down. Her gaze locked onto the orb, now glowing a vivid red.

If Leon had been there, he would have been shocked—that was the very same crystal orb he once used to contact Jim at the Eclipse Trading House branch.

Athena placed her hand on its surface—and in the blink of an eye, an extraordinarily beautiful woman appeared before her.

A playful smile formed on Athena's lips as she greeted, "It's been a while, Liliana. What's with the sudden call? Is something wrong?"

Ever since Leon's kidnapping incident, their relationship had grown strained. Even so, they never truly hated each other.

They still worked together—particularly in economic affairs and other key strategic sectors.

After all, the arrival of the Evil God was only a few years away, and preparations were essential.

Yet, the personal rivalry between them never truly faded. Insinuations, sharp remarks, and ego clashes were all too common.

To Athena, Liliana was both a friend and a rival—one she was determined to surpass.

But this time, there was no hint of sarcasm or anger on Liliana's face.

Instead, she looked pale and worn. A heavy sorrow clung to her eyes, and a wave of unease instantly washed over Athena.

Before she could say anything, Liliana met her gaze coldly and spoke.

"Leon has suffered a disaster. Most likely… he's seriously injured—or worse... dead."
