My Sign-in System in Naruto

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: New Sign-in Task

The last chapter was a little to short so just a gift from me.

In the Hokage Building, inside the Hokage's office.

The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, sat at his desk, taking out a pipe, lighting it, and inhaling slowly, releasing a puff of smoke that formed a small ring.

In front of him was Kakashi, half-kneeling on the ground, reporting on today's events.

Hiruzen's heart was far from as calm as it appeared on the surface.

On one hand, according to Kakashi's account, Haru had effortlessly killed seven of Danzo's ROOT members.

Such power was not something an ordinary jōnin could possess.

In other words, this confirmed that Haru indeed had the strength to kill Cloud ninjas and disrupt the border forests!

If Haru also possessed the Wood Release kekkei genkai...

Hiruzen couldn't help but take a deep breath, shocked that Haru might be even stronger than he had imagined.

On the other hand, he never expected Danzo to form a ten-man squad to assassinate Haru.

Had he lost his mind?

Haru was not only a member of the Senju clan but also a rare genius.

With proper training, he would surely become a ninja even more outstanding than Uchiha Itachi, guarding Konoha.

"No wonder Danzo suddenly approached me, asking for defenses against the Uchiha clan…"

Hiruzen muttered to himself but couldn't grasp Danzo's motive for targeting Haru.

After all, he was not from the Uchiha clan.

Could it be...

That Danzo couldn't tolerate even the Senju clan?

In an instant, Hiruzen was reminded of the past.

Over the years, he had harbored resentment over the death of Dan Kato. If it weren't for his death, Tsunade wouldn't have developed a fear of blood and left Konoha.

So when he saw Haru, he sometimes thought of Tsunade and Dan.

But the village was not the same as it once was.

No one had expected Orochimaru to conduct inhumane human experiments and eventually betray the village.

Nor could anyone foresee that Minato would sacrifice himself on the night of turmoil.

Even now, despite being considered a great power, the economy was ranked among the lowest of the Five Great Nations, with the Cloud Village eyeing them hungrily.

Internally, there was also the Uchiha clan...

It wasn't an exaggeration to say that Konoha was currently beset by both internal and external troubles.

"Kakashi." Hiruzen put down the pipe and spoke slowly, "From now on, you will handle his protection in secret."

This time, he would not allow Danzo to cause any more trouble.

Especially during this period.

Having said that, Hiruzen made a hand gesture, indicating that Kakashi could leave.

"Yes."

Kakashi promptly replied, turned around, pushed open the office door, and left to head to the Senju clan's compound.

Watching the office door close again, Hiruzen's gaze gradually became deep and contemplative as he murmured to himself.

"Danzo, oh Danzo…"

Meanwhile, Haru had already sent Naruto back home, leaving him some money to buy breakfast the next day.

Haru recalled that when he watched Naruto, there was a scene depicting Naruto's childhood experiences where he stood in front of Ichiraku Ramen for a long time, only to find a few loose coins in his pocket, forcing him to go to the back mountain to forage for mushrooms.

But this segment was filled with oddities.

Minato was not only the Fourth Hokage but also a hero of the Third Great Ninja War.

How could such a person possibly lack savings?

Don't tell me Minato was like an adult Sakura, busy paying off a mortgage every day.

As a village leader, he wouldn't even have a house?

Impossible.

Even the idea of equality seems forced.

Just look at Konohamaru's treatment as a child, with tutors following him around, offering constant guidance.

Moreover, to take a thousand steps back, Minato and Kushina sacrificed themselves for the village. It wouldn't be unreasonable to hire a ninja tutor for Naruto.

Was it so hard to find someone to take care of Naruto 24/7?

Even if Minato truly left nothing behind, couldn't the Third Hokage pay?

Did he have to let Naruto drink expired milk?

"And Dan's death…"

Haru lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts swirling.

While he knew Danzo's style, he was still taken aback by the assassination attempt on him.

But thinking from another angle, it also meant that Danzo was unreserved about the Senju surname.

Could Dan's death also be related to Danzo?

"If I remember correctly, among his students, Hiruzen favored Orochimaru the most. Even after he conducted human experiments, Hiruzen's response was still quite vague initially."

"And not just Hiruzen, even Danzo admired Orochimaru."

"Even after Orochimaru defected from Konoha, Danzo maintained private contact with him."

"During that period, Tsunade was undoubtedly a strong rival to Orochimaru."

The more Haru thought about it, the more he felt a strange atmosphere permeating the upper echelons of Konoha.

It seemed like Hiruzen was using Danzo's hands to eliminate dissenters.

Especially when Orochimaru attacked Konoha, Danzo, Homura, Koharu , all the Konoha high-ranking members seemed to have vanished.

Moreover, when facing the Four Purple Flames Formation, no one stepped forward to help.

Even if the Third Hokage was revered as the god of ninjas in his youth, how old was he at that time?

Did everyone really think that Orochimaru, who could defeat even the Kazekage, had no trump card against the Third Hokage?

Jiraiya went off to catch snakes...

Guy wanted to open the Eighth Gate to help but was stopped by Kakashi...

Didn't anyone fear the death of the Third Hokage?

"Rather than saying Danzo is the root of Konoha, it's more accurate to say that the entire upper echelon of Konoha is the root."

Haru shook his head. He didn't particularly like this conspiracy theory.

But aside from that, he couldn't find a better explanation for all of this.

Could it be...

That he had to accept the notion that the storyline of Hokage had collapsed, causing many inconsistencies?

Perhaps before he crossed over, but now...

This place wasn't a mere manga or anime; it was a real world.

Even if there were bugs in the Naruto manga itself, Haru believed that this world could self-correct.

Just as Haru couldn't help but ponder these matters, a voice suddenly echoed in his ear.

A new sign-in task has been released!

You have three days to check in at the Hokage office. Upon successful check-in, you will receive a reward!

Haru instinctively furrowed his brow. "Three days?"

"The Hokage office?"

This new sign-in task caught Haru off guard; it was his first time encountering a time-limited task.

However, a time limit should be considered a form of increased difficulty, and if successful, the rewards might be more generous.

"Yeah, let's use that as a reason."
