My System is Too Overpowered

Chapter 4: Wi Soyeon (1)

Ma Jeong stood in silence, staring at the ruins.

"What…" he muttered after a long pause.

He hadn't expected his attack to be this destructive. The entire Wind Cloud Village had vanished, reduced to dust.

This level of power… it had gone far beyond the Fusion Realm.

But then, a spark of excitement lit up in his heart.

With a grin spreading across his face, Ma Jeong asked aloud:

"System, how strong was that attack?"

A familiar mechanical voice echoed in his mind.

[Ding! The attack was comparable to a Late-stage Transformation Realm powerhouse.]

Ma Jeong froze for a moment.

Then, his grin widened.

"Hahaha!"

He threw his head back and laughed loudly, his voice echoing across the empty ruins.

"A Mid-Stage Fusion Realm cultivator releasing power equal to a Late-Stage Transformation Realm powerhouse?!"

His red eyes gleamed with pride.

"Is there anyone as strong as I am? Hahaha!"

His laughter echoed through the silent sky.

Ma Jeong's laughter suddenly came to an abrupt halt. His smile faded as if he had just remembered something important.

"Wait a second…" he muttered, narrowing his eyes.

"System, why didn't my cultivation increase when I was up against that Mung Yunhai?"

[Ding! The name of the person the host just defeated is Mung Yunhai.]

Ma Jeong clicked his tongue.

"Whatever, just tell me the reason."

[Ding! For the ability 'Stronger Against Strong', the enemy's cultivation must be higher than the host's. Otherwise, it won't activate.]

Ma Jeong froze. His eyebrow twitched.

"Why didn't you tell me that before?!"

[Ding! The host didn't ask.]

Ma Jeong stared blankly for a second. Then, his face twisted in frustration.

"What do you mean I didn't ask?! And Do you always have to make that annoying 'Ding' sound whenever you speak?"

[No, it isn't necessary.]

Ma Jeong let out a sigh of relief.

"Good. Keep it that way."

[Ding! But it's fun.]

Ma Jeong's face darkened.

"This… this freaking system! @#$%…!"

Ma Jeong continued cursing the system under his breath until he suddenly paused. His sharp red eyes narrowed.

"These auras... they feel familiar."

Moments later, a warship appeared in the distance, cutting through the sky. Standing at the front was Ye Liang, accompanied by the village elders.

As they approached, the sight of the completely destroyed Wind Cloud Village made them freeze. A chill ran down their spines. The entire village... reduced to ruins.

"Senior Ma did all this... by himself?" they thought, terror creeping into their hearts.

Despite their fear, they floated toward Ma Jeong. The moment they reached him, they bowed deeply. So deeply, in fact, that their heads almost touched the ground. Unfortunately, since they were floating in the air, the posture only made them look more comical.

"Congratulations, Senior Ma, on vanquishing the enemy," Ye Liang muttered, his voice trembling slightly.

The elders quickly echoed him.

"Congratulations, Senior Ma, on vanquishing the enemy!"

Ma Jeong looked at them, an amused expression flashing across his face as he watched their awkwardly bowed forms.

"Everyone, get up," Ma Jeong finally said.

The moment his words fell, Ye Liang and the elders straightened their backs with lightning speed, as if Ma Jeong's words were a divine command they dared not disobey.

Ye Liang took a deep breath and stepped forward, holding out a spatial ring with both hands.

"Senior Ma, these are the spoils of battle," Ye Liang said respectfully.

Ma Jeong took the ring without a word. He sent his divine sense inside, curious to see what treasures lay within.

Inside the spatial ring, Ma Jeong found a staggering treasure—over a million spiritual stones.

His eyes glinted with satisfaction.

"So, they practically emptied all the Wind Cloud Village's resource points," he thought.

It explained why Ye Liang and the elders had taken longer to arrive. After all, spiritual stones were more than just currency. They were essential for cultivation, powering formations, and valuable in countless ways. Possessing such an amount of spiritual stones was no small matter—it was wealth enough to rival the disciples of major sects.

As Ma Jeong admired his newfound riches, Ye Liang bowed once again.

"Senior, where are you planning to go after this?" he asked carefully.

Ma Jeong glanced at Ye Liang, his red eyes narrowing slightly. He understood what Ye Liang truly meant.

"So, you want me to leave," Ma Jeong thought with a faint smirk.

In truth, he wasn't offended. If it were anyone else, they might have taken it as disrespect. But right now, Ma Jeong was in an exceptionally good mood.

After all, who wouldn't be, with a cheat ability that made him stronger when fighting tougher opponents? Not to mention, the system's rewards kept stacking up.

"Sooner or later, I'll become invincible," Ma Jeong thought confidently.

Not to mention, the staggering amount of spiritual stones he just received.

He also understood Ye Liang's fear. Who would feel comfortable living alongside someone who could wipe out an entire village with a single punch?

With a faint smile, Ma Jeong spoke:

"I was thinking of leaving in a few days."

Ye Liang's expression visibly brightened.

"Very well, Senior. Until then, we will serve you with everything we have."

His voice sounded almost relieved—perhaps even a little cheerful.

Ma Jeong chuckled softly.

Just as Ye Liang finished speaking, a familiar sound echoed in Ma Jeong's mind.

[Ding! Detected a suitable subordinate within a hundred miles. Would the host like to accept them as a subordinate? Completing this task will yield unimaginable rewards!]

Ma Jeong's body stiffened.

"A subordinate?" he thought, his eyes narrowing.

He never expected the system to take someone as a subordinate.

After a brief moment of surprise, a confident smile appeared on his face.

"Unimaginable rewards, huh? Very well. So be it."

Without hesitation, he looked at Ye Liang.

"On second thought, I'll be leaving right now."

Before anyone could react, Ma Jeong's figure blurred and vanished into thin air.

Ye Liang and the village elders were left staring at the empty space, their mouths slightly open.

********

In the midst of the Azure Bamboo Forest, the sound of rustling bamboo filled the air, and green leaves fluttered in the breeze.

A figure dashed through the forest, panic in her movements. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth as she struggled to escape.

Her name was Wi Soyeon.

She had a slender frame, her long, golden hair cascading down her back, half of it spilling over her shoulders while the rest flowed all the way down to her waist.

She was dressed in a special form-fitting black leather outfit, the material hugging every curve of her body, emphasizing her tall, shapely figure. Her waist was delicate, almost fragile, while her chest and hips were full and graceful.

Her face was nothing short of breath taking. Anyone who gazed upon it would lose their breath, especially her Phoenix Eyes, which glowed with a fiery, angered look.

"Jie jie jie jie, beauty, don't run! Let's have some fun!"

The sinister voice grew louder behind her, filled with twisted desire. It echoed through the forest as the figure chasing her closed the distance.

With each word she heard, her anger grew. But as the sound of footsteps grew nearer, a wave of despair surged in her heart.

She had truly fallen.

Once, Wi Soyeon was the proud daughter of the Cult Leader of the Demonic Cult in the Central Region. She had immense power and unmatched beauty. Her cultivation had reached the Transcendent Realm, and everyone believed she would one day take her father's place as the next Cult Leader.

But betrayal came from the one she least expected. Her own brother, second in line for succession, rebelled.

He poisoned her, leaving her unable to use her divine techniques or abilities. Weakened and cornered, Wi Soyeon had no choice.

With nowhere else to turn, she had been forced to use a forbidden secret art, risking her entire cultivation, to escape. She fought her way out and fled to the Blue Wind Domain, desperate for survival.

Now, Wi Soyeon's once-mighty cultivation had fallen. From the peak of the Transcendent Realm, her strength had dropped to the Early-stage Foundation Realm. She planned to rebuild her cultivation and return to the Central Region for revenge.

But fate had other plans.

She had barely been in hiding for a few days when she ran into trouble—a twisted old man chasing her with wicked intentions.

"Beauty, how long can you run?"

The old man suddenly appeared before her, stepping through the bamboo grove. His eyes gleamed with greed, and dark circles hung heavily beneath them, showing signs of overindulgence.

He was a Late-stage Foundation Realm cultivator—three minor realms stronger than her. Although he could have caught her at any moment, he chose to toy with her instead.

A cruel smile spread across his face as several sharp, brown thorns shot toward her, aiming for her arms and legs.

Wi Soyeon's heart raced. Sensing danger, she quickly raised her hand and summoned a Crimson Flame Shield to block the attack.

But the shield shattered instantly.

Boom!

The impact sent her flying, crashing through several bamboo stalks before she hit the ground hard. Dust and leaves scattered as she lay there, gasping for breath, her eyes filled with frustration and fear.

"You're quite resilient for an Early-stage Foundation Realm expert!" The old man said, his voice tinged with surprise.

He had expected her to fall easily. After all, he was in the Late-stage Foundation Realm, and the thorns he had sent flying were among his best divine techniques. Yet, she had withstood them, not instantly succumbing as he had anticipated.

This was unusual.

Could she be a hidden genius from some powerful sect, traveling alone?

The thought crossed his mind but was quickly dismissed. It didn't matter now. Once he had his fun, he would simply kill her and dispose of her body.

Wi Soyeon's teeth clenched as she glared at him, her face filled with rage. "You, damn dog!" she spat, her voice seething with anger.

The old man's grin widened as he took slow steps toward her. "Beauty, stop resisting. My patience is limited."
