My Twin Sister and I Somehow Became Invincible

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 – A Taste of Luxury and a Walk Beyond the Palace

Chapter 9 – A Taste of Luxury and a Walk Beyond the Palace

Ella sat deep in thought, her mind clouded with unease.

Olivia's sudden growth weighed heavily on her. The gap between them was closing too quickly, and for the first time, she felt something unfamiliar—urgency.

This is bad. I need to get stronger… and fast.

She clenched her fists, her resolve hardening—until the door creaked open.

A familiar servant stepped in, carrying a tray laden with food. Ella immediately pushed her thoughts aside and turned to wake Olivia.

"Vivi, the food is ready," she said, shaking her twin gently.

At the mention of food, Olivia's eyes fluttered open groggily. She rubbed them, blinking at Ella before murmuring lazily, "Eri… is it soup?"

Ella smirked. "Nope, it's grilled chicken. Looks pretty good too. But if you're not interested, I'll just eat it all myself."

Before she could tease further, Olivia instantly perked up, sitting up straight. "I eat! I eat! Eri, you idiot, I never said I wouldn't eat!" she pouted, her sleepy expression now replaced with determination.

Ella chuckle. Olivia was far too easy to bait.

The servant swiftly arranged the meal with practiced elegance, laying out luxurious dishes in an immaculate display. The twins sat at the table, their eyes fixed on the food—especially Olivia, whose drowsy gaze was now filled with hunger.

Ella, on the other hand, observed the servant's meticulous work, an idle thought crossing her mind.

It's pointless in the end, but it does look refined. Luxurious, even.

Once the servant left, they began eating. Ella maintained her usual elegance, eating slowly and carefully. She reached for a crystal-clear bottle, the faint golden glow inside hinting at its extraordinary nature.

As she examined it, a notification rang in her mind.

Ding!

[Divine Water] Acquired!

▶ Effect: Enhances growth, restores vitality, and heals all wounds. 70% chance to gain an alignment and increases connection to the Inferno Realm by 20%.

▶ Type: Sacred Essence

▶ Grade: Divine

Ella's eyes widened slightly. Divine Water?

She had assumed the meal was extravagant, but to include something this rare? A resource that could help even gods ascend…

Her grip on the bottle tightened slightly.

In their past life, she and Olivia barely had enough money for a decent meal, let alone something this luxurious. And now, their food was on an entirely different level.

Her gaze flickered toward Olivia, who was happily stuffing food into her mouth without a care in the world.

Ella chuckled softly before activating the system's appraisal on the main dish.

Ding!

[Peony Great Bird] Acquired!

▶ Effect: Enhances growth, strengthens bones, boosts Primordial Force, and extends lifespan by 1,000 years.

▶ Type: Sacred Creature

▶ Grade: Rare

Ella froze.

What? 1,000 years?

She immediately questioned the system, disbelief coloring her thoughts.

Is this even accurate? Just eating this gives an extra millennium?

The system chimed in once more.

Ding!

[Would the host like to enable an item & resource grading system for easier classification?]

Ella blinked. You should've told me that sooner!

"Enable it," she muttered.

A structured ranking system appeared before her.

[Item & Resource Grade System]▶ Grade Hierarchy (Lowest to Highest):

[Common] – Basic materials with no special properties.[Uncommon] – Slightly enhanced, providing minor improvements.[Rare] – Contains unique properties, granting moderate power boosts.[Epic] – Infused with potent energy, significantly enhancing abilities.[Legendary] – Exceptionally rare, capable of granting extraordinary effects.[Mythic] – Holds deep mystical power, bordering on the divine.[Divine] – A sacred-tier resource with near-miraculous capabilities.[Primordial] – Embodies the fundamental forces of creation itself.[Transcendent] – Surpasses all worldly limits, distorting reality at will.[Eternal] – Exists beyond time and space, embodying limitless potential.▶ System Note: Higher-grade items possess exponentially greater power, with some capable of rewriting reality itself.

Ella stared at the list, processing the information.

So the system can analyze resources up to the Eternal tier… but why can't it probe realms beyond Horizon?

She immediately asked.

Ding!

[The system has compiled known God Realm data. However, higher realms of strength function differently, as cultivators forge their own unique paths. This makes it impossible to extract further information.]

Ella frowned. So you're telling me that the information exists, but gods refuse to share it?

Ding!

[Correct. Gods who ascend to higher realms withhold their knowledge, fearing competition. The immense difficulty of these realms would also deter weaker gods from attempting to advance.]

Ella scoffed. So it's not that they can't explain it… they just don't want anyone to surpass them.

Shaking her head, she refocused on her meal. She couldn't waste time being frustrated over the selfishness of ancient gods.

After the MealOnce they finished eating, they remained seated for a while, letting their food digest. After an hour, Ella glanced at Olivia, an idea forming in her mind.

"Vivi, let's go for a walk. You've been sleeping too much."

Olivia pouted, groaning. "Ugh… again? I don't want to. It's too much trouble. I just wanna sleep more…"

Ella sighed. In their past life, Olivia had always been the same—lazy and unconcerned about her health. It had always been her job to drag her twin out to exercise.

Ella smirked. "Fine, then stay here. But I'm sure there'll be some snacks when I get back from my walk."

At that, Olivia's ears perked up. She hesitated for only a moment before muttering, "Eri… I was just kidding. My feet just hurt a little from walking yesterday…"

Ella chuckled, ruffling Olivia's hair. "Then let's go."

With Olivia clinging onto her clothes, they left their chambers and requested permission to go outside. A middle-aged butler and several servants accompanied them, ensuring their safety.

"Young Miss, where would you like to go?" the butler asked politely.

Ella blinked, feigning innocence. "Oh? How many places are there in this palace?"

The butler hesitated, momentarily surprised. How does she know this is a palace? No, more importantly… how is she speaking so fluently at only a month old?

Suppressing his shock, he composed himself and answered, "This palace, or rather, this domain, is known as the 18th Heaven. Though it may seem small at first, it is vast beyond imagination."

Ella nodded, keeping up her childlike act. "Really? Just how big is it?"

The butler smiled, pleased by her curiosity. "The palace itself is only a fraction of the 18th Heaven. The domain includes multiple towns and even entire kingdoms. Your father, as the Domain Head, governs all of it."

Ella's eyes widened in genuine surprise.

A domain as large as a world? No wonder the food here is so extravagant…

A thought struck her, and she turned to the butler with an innocent smile.

"Can we visit one of the towns?"

The butler hesitated but ultimately nodded. "Of course, Young Miss. I will make the arrangements. First, I must inform your parents."

As he left to seek permission, Ella felt a rush of excitement.

Time to see just how vast this world truly is.

Meanwhile, Olivia simply yawned, sleepily clutching Ella's clothes as they waited.
