Chapter 710: Blood Clan Young Lord
The two figures in front of him, Gu Lan could immediately read their intentions. They had released their auras, which made their actions clear. Above in the clouds, the two Blood Clan members weren't particularly strong, but they were a perfect match for the duo to test their abilities.
It had been many days since the competition began, and Gu Lan was eager to assess the improvements in his disciples. His trust in their growth was evident, and he was now keen to observe their true power.
Upon hearing Gu Lan's words, Gu Simu's face broke into a delighted smile, and the Hammer of Evergreen Pine appeared in her hands instantly. "Thank you, Father!" she said with excitement, already thinking that, after all this time, there was no need for her to step in against the weaker opponents they'd faced before.
Chen Feng and Gu Simu exchanged a glance, their faces set in determination. Without further hesitation, both of them released their energy and leaped toward the sky. As they soared upwards, Gu Lan followed them closely behind. While he had confidence in their abilities, it was always better to stay vigilant in such an unpredictable realm as the Immortal Realm.
The three of them soon arrived at the clouds. The atmosphere around them thickened, and a wave of blood energy came rushing towards them. The power was terrifying, with an overwhelming feeling of destruction and the force of devouring everything in its path.
Gu Lan's face darkened as he raised his hand, unleashing a palm strike. The immense power of the blow shattered the blood energy but did not penetrate it. These chaotic waves of blood energy were wild and violent, but they posed no threat to him.
A voice rang out from the distance. "What brings you here to Lanyan Royal School?" Gu Lan asked coldly.
At that moment, a man dressed in blood-red robes stepped forward. He radiated blood energy that flowed freely from his body without any restraint.
"I am Xue Lengyi, Young Lord of the Blood Clan," the man proclaimed arrogantly. "I have come to challenge the disciples of Lanyan Royal School!"
The arrogance in his voice was clear, and a sneer formed on his face as he sized up Gu Lan and his disciples.
Chen Feng's face immediately darkened at the words. His aura exploded, and he stepped forward. "To challenge the disciples of Lanyan Royal School? Do you even have the right?" he sneered.
Chen Feng had an understanding of the situation. Xue Lengyi's strength was not far from his own, but he didn't require Gu Simu's help. He could easily defeat this challenger by himself. However, just as he moved forward, another large figure emerged from behind Xue Lengyi. This new figure was a burly man holding a blood-red scythe, with blood energy swirling around his body.
"Don't be too eager," the new figure said with disdain. "Your opponent is me."
The man's blood-red scythe swung down with terrifying force. The deadly slash cut through the air, sending a wave of blood energy towards Chen Feng.
Without hesitation, Chen Feng's energy erupted, and he leaped into the air, evading the strike. His sword flashed in his hand, and a hundred sword lights erupted, meeting the blood-red energy with an explosion of sound. The terrifying blood light was shattered under the sheer power of his sword strike, and the large man stumbled backward, taking two steps.
Chen Feng's face remained as indifferent as ever, his sword humming with energy as he increased his speed. His opponent's strength was similar to his own, but with the gift from Gu Lan and his own recent advancements, he was confident of victory.
As the battle between the two continued, Xue Lengyi smirked, clearly uninterested in the battle unfolding below. His eyes were fixed on Gu Lan, filled with disdain and a challenge in his gaze. "I wish to fight you!" he declared boldly, his tone dripping with arrogance.
Gu Lan raised an eyebrow. Did this man truly wish for his own demise? Where did he get the confidence to challenge him? The Young Lord of the Blood Clan must have a death wish.
"Fight me? You're not even worthy," Gu Lan said coldly, his voice dripping with disdain. He gave no consideration to Xue Lengyi's challenge, utterly uninterested in engaging in battle with someone of such low standing.
The words struck Xue Lengyi like a blow to his pride. His face twisted into a snarl as blood energy surged within him, forming a sinister blood-shrouded shadow behind him. Before he could strike, however, Gu Simu had already stepped in front of Gu Lan, blocking him from the confrontation.
"You want to fight my father? I'll deal with you!" Gu Simu said, her voice full of scorn. With that, she raised the Hammer of Evergreen Pine and took a step forward. She propelled herself into the air, landing right in front of Xue Lengyi with a deadly swing.
The terrifying force behind the blow carried with it the essence of evergreen pine, and the hammer crashed down with a deafening sound. Xue Lengyi was sent flying, his body retreating a hundred yards before he could regain his footing.
His face darkened as he steadied himself, surprised and shocked. Gu Simu's strength far surpassed his expectations. Her attack had shaken him to the core, and he hadn't anticipated being knocked back so easily.
Xue Lengyi's eyes burned with fury, and he growled in frustration. He pulled his hands into a clasping motion, summoning his blood energy once again. A hundred blood-red lights shot towards Gu Simu in a deadly assault, ripping through the air with the intent to overwhelm her.
Gu Simu sneered, completely unfazed. She watched the attacks coming for her with a cold, dismissive look in her eyes. She flung the Hammer of Evergreen Pine from her hand, and the massive weapon grew rapidly in size, pressing down on Xue Lengyi with an overwhelming weight.
Xue Lengyi's blood-red shadow tried to defend against the strike, but it was no match for the sheer power of the hammer. The blood shadow was instantly obliterated under the force, and with a loud explosion, Xue Lengyi's attack was shattered.
The sound of the impact echoed across the heavens, shaking the surrounding atmosphere. Xue Lengyi's face turned a ghastly pale as he staggered backward, barely able to hold his ground. His gaze turned murderous as he gritted his teeth in anger.
"You think you can defeat me?!" he roared, his blood-red energy surging violently around him. The aura around him turned savage as he entered a new phase of his power, his body cloaked in dark red light. "I will make you regret this!"
Seeing the change in his opponent, Gu Simu raised her eyebrows in surprise. For the first time, Xue Lengyi's aura resembled hers, a dangerous and intense energy that would not be easily broken. She wasn't backing down, however.
Her Hammer of Evergreen Pine spun once again in her hands as she prepared to meet Xue Lengyi's growing blood energy with an equal force. With a flick of her wrist, she launched another devastating blow. The Hammer of Evergreen Pine surged forward, unleashing its full power.
The shockwaves from their clash reverberated across the battlefield, sending violent waves of energy outward. Xue Lengyi's power, though formidable, was once again shattered by Gu Simu's relentless assault. The blood energy surged to meet her hammer but was torn apart before it could land a hit. The overwhelming pressure sent Xue Lengyi stumbling backward once again, his face paling as blood trickled from his mouth.
"Just you?" Gu Simu scoffed, her voice filled with contempt. "You're not even a challenge."
Xue Lengyi's face twisted with rage. His body was covered in blood-red energy as his hands formed a deadly seal. "You'll pay for underestimating me!" he growled, summoning a blood-red storm that enveloped the entire battlefield.
At that moment, Gu Lan's expression darkened. He realized that Xue Lengyi had been hiding his true strength and was now unleashing his full power. He also noticed the faint glimmer of danger in the air. It seemed that the young lord of the Blood Clan was not someone to be taken lightly.
"Gu Simu, be careful," Gu Lan warned, his voice filled with seriousness. The situation had escalated far beyond what they had anticipated.
