Mythical Era: My Evolution into a Celestial Beast

Chapter 901: Refining a World-Level Weapon, Eternal Obliteration (II)

On the deck of Orbital Battleship 1, Mech No.1's default form had expanded to over eight hundred meters tall after devouring another four demon kings and two great demon kings, along with over two million members of the Purgatory Demon Clan. Blood-colored light surrounded it in thick waves, and its aura was terrifying.

Under the fearsome pressure of its predator-like presence, even mythical-level beings like Chen Wang found it difficult to approach. Transcendents and below dared not come near at all.

However, while others were intimidated, Chen Chu wasn't bothered in the least. He stood atop Mech No.1's shoulder amid the dense blood mist, lightly tapping its cold armor. Curious, he asked, "Luo Fei, how many more great demon kings does this thing need to eat before it can recover its supreme-level strength?"

Hum!

No.1 lowered its head slightly. Its eyes, glowing blue and white, flickered as Luo Fei's slightly fuzzy voice echoed from within. "I estimate it still needs to devour the souls and flesh of over a hundred million Purgatory Demon Clan, or twenty great demon kings, to fully recover its strength at the supreme level."

"A hundred million Purgatory demons? Twenty great demon kings?" Chen Chu was visibly stunned.

Twenty great demon kings were equivalent to twenty titan-level colossal beasts. The total number of great demon kings in the two empires currently battling humanity probably didn't even add up to that.

Even the Dragon Emperor, after traversing almost the entire Chaotic Region, had only encountered a dozen or so titan-level beasts. That alone showed just how rare lifeforms of this level truly were. Outside of battlefields like this, where civilizations clashed in final confrontations, great demon kings would almost never appear in groups.

Suddenly, Chen Chu asked, "What about a demon god?"

"A demon god? Chen Chu, you want to help me catch a demon god to eat?" Luo Fei's surprised voice rang out.

At the same time, the bluish-white light in No.1's eyes flared brightly as a faint ripple of instinctive excitement emanated from within, causing the surrounding blood mist to ripple violently.

Luo Fei's tone was similarly filled with excitement. "If I could devour a demon god and consume its principle origin, No.1's strength should reach the peak of the heavenly king level. With two, there's a chance I could advance to the supreme level."

"Ahem!Don't get too excited, I was just speaking hypothetically," Chen Chu coughed lightly, not daring to guarantee he could catch even a single demon god.

Sealing a demon god was far harder than killing one. It required an overwhelming difference in strength to completely suppress them. Otherwise, with the slightest lapse, the demon god could rip open the void and escape.

Just like when Chen Chu had been besieged by three demon gods; he had still managed to tear the void using a forbidden weapon and fled into the chaotic space-time currents.

Demon-god-level entities possessed far more powerful life-saving methods than ordinary beings. Otherwise, the divine kings of the Heavenly Feathered Race would have been wiped out long ago.

It was the same with that pinnacle great demon king earlier. Though Chen Chu had used the Mark of Temporal Reincarnation and erased him completely in a single strike, he had been unable to seal him and deliver him to No.1 as food.

Still, although he couldn't catch a demon god for No.1 to consume just yet, its energy conversion efficiency left Chen Chu rather surprised. It only needed to consume two demon gods to reach the supreme level. That was akin to the titan-level Destructive Dragon Emperor needing only two ancient titans to break through.

Of course, there were major differences between the two. The Dragon Emperor could only devour flesh to convert energy; it couldn't refine souls. Meanwhile, No.1 wasn't growing stronger, but rather using the flesh and souls to recover from its injuries.

"There's probably another major battle ahead. Keep digesting. I'm going to prepare a bit." After the brief exchange with Luo Fei, Chen Chu flew down from No.1's shoulder and landed on the deck.

On the ship's forward deck, a massive, black, incomplete battle axe hovered in the air. Though it looked as though it was lying horizontally, in truth, it floated ten meters above the surface.

Streaks of purple lightning jumped across the surface of the axe, keeping it suspended. If it actually landed, the ship would collapse instantly. After all, this was a weapon that contained the remnants of a shattered world.

Standing before the axe that resembled a small mountain range, Chen Chu debated whether to fuse it with the Eight Desolations Halberd, or let the planar world consume it.

After a moment's thought, he came to a decision. Fusing it with the Eight Desolations Halberd would grant him an immediate boost in strength. Feeding it to the planar world would gradually enhance the plane's expansion and its comprehension of supreme laws, but at a slower pace.

Boom!

A four-meter-long black-and-gold halberd appeared in Chen Chu's hands. The surrounding space instantly sank under its weight. Invisible edges radiating from it tore open streaks of black rifts in the void.

At the same time, a row of transparent text appeared before his eyes.

[Consume 10,000 attribute points to refine the current weapon and enhance the Eight Desolations Creation Halberd?]

Ever since he had enhanced the halberd to legendary level, Chen Chu hadn't used the weapon enhancement function again. However, at his current cultivation, many secrets no longer needed concealing, such as his ability to quickly refine weapons and fuse them into his own arsenal.

"Refine."

As soon as Chen Chu confirmed the action, his remaining attribute points instantly dropped from 10,494 to 494. A surge of wild enhancement energy erupted within him from nowhere.

Boom!

As white flames surged from Chen Chu's palms, enveloping both the Eight Desolations Halberd and the black battle axe, the incomplete axe suddenly began to struggle violently, and an energy comparable to a heavenly king exploded from within. Rings of black shockwaves radiated, crushing the surrounding space in an attempt to shatter the white flame.

However, this fire wasn't just composed of burned attribute points, it also contained Chen Chu's essence, vitality, and spirit. With just a downward press of his hand, he forcefully suppressed the black battle axe. Not even the residual shockwaves affected the fast-flying battleship.

The commotion on Chen Chu's side instantly drew the attention of Luo Fei, other cultivators, and figures like Chen Wang who were patrolling the fleet. With their sharp eyes, Chen Wang and the others immediately recognized that Chen Chu was refining a demonic weapon.

However, neither he nor Heavenly King Xuanwu thought much of it. They simply assumed Chen Chu was refining it for easier storage. Under normal circumstances, refining a pseudo-world-level demonic weapon like this would take even someone like Heavenly King Zhenwu at least a year or two. Moreover, due to differences in attribute compatibility, even after refining it, one wouldn't be able to fully unleash its power, and it could even interfere with their cultivation path.

While the human fleet raced toward the evacuation point, at the edge of the Eternal Divine Region, in a world surrounded by golden crystalline walls, golden rings rippled across the sky, and warships shot outward from them.

At that moment, roughly three million elite members of the Heavenly Feathered Race had gathered there, alongside over forty mythical powerhouses and eleven figures exuding the aura of chief gods. Among them was Bordea, who had previously met Chen Chu face to face. Relying on the principle of the Eternal Divine Tree, Bordea had even arrived earlier than expected.

However, whether it was Bordea or Anstira, who had clashed head-on with two late-stage great demon kings despite only being at the beginning stage of the chief god level, their expressions were grim. A thick atmosphere of grief hung over the gathered Heavenly Feathered elites.

A woman soared into the sky from a golden battlefield. Behind her were two pairs of white glowing wings, and her aura was at the peak of the ninth tier. With sorrow in her eyes, she approached Anstira and the others. "Your Majesty, my fellow lords, do we still have hope of leaving?"

Upon hearing this, countless Heavenly Feathered clansmen looked up with tension in their eyes, hoping for reassurance from these powerful chief gods.

Anstira nodded calmly. "We do. This is only a preliminary withdrawal. Once we leave, the divine lord will follow with the rest. The Eternal Divine Tree has already successfully taken root in the human world. Under the collision of boundaries between the human and mythical world, it's growing rapidly. Once we arrive, we only need a short period of rest before we regain our life force."

Her words brightened the eyes of many Heavenly Feathered warriors. What they didn't know, however, was that no large army would follow them. The more than ten million still fighting the Purgatory Demon Clan had all been abandoned. Those left behind were mostly the old, weak, and infirm, including twelve chief gods and more than thirty revived mythical beings. Among the divine kings, only three were expected to escape in the end.

Bordea said in a low voice, "You've seen the human race's strength. Once we're based at their strongholds, with our two races combined, the demons won't be able to do anything even if they catch up."

Indeed, those humans are formidable. Many Heavenly Feathered warriors who had witnessed Chen Chu's overwhelming power subconsciously nodded. This was only a support legion, and it already fielded two individuals with divine-king-level strength. With just tens of thousands of transcendent cultivators, they can lead over a million elite troops in coordinated operations. Especially that human powerhouse named Chen Chu, he is outrageously strong. Slaughtering demon kings and even great demon kings was as easy for him as cutting through weeds. No one could stop him.

Just from that, it was clear the human race was no weaker than the Heavenly Feathered Race had been at its peak. They had once been a powerful civilization.

"Alright, get as much rest as you can. There may be a pursuit battle coming."

"Yes."

While the Heavenly Feathered elites sat cross-legged to recover, the gods and chief gods hovering high in the sky looked solemnly ahead, their gazes piercing the heavy golden boundary wall.

Beyond, four Heavenly Feathered divine kings were locked in a desperate battle, recklessly besieging two demon gods. The shockwaves from their fight had nearly obliterated the surrounding world. Though they appeared to have the upper hand, their injuries were growing increasingly severe.

However, the others could only watch. Battlefields of divine-king-level combatants were beyond their reach.

As the chief gods stood in silence, time quietly passed. Suddenly, Anstira looked toward the other side of the crystalline barrier. Her gaze fell upon a rapidly approaching rhombus-shaped golden light at the edge of the sky. "The human legion is here."

"Let's go, everyone. It's time to greet our allies."

"Let's go together."

Now that they were seeking refuge under another's roof, none of the Heavenly Feathered powerhouses acted haughtily. One after another, they turned into streams of light, flying hundreds of kilometers to the crystalline wall and vanishing without a sound.

In the outer world, the human fleet stretching over eight hundred thousand kilometers came to a sudden halt, hovering above a mountain range like a winding dragon's spine. Golden light around the fleet retracted, revealing Zhenwu's figure as he looked ahead. "According to the coordinates, this should be the place."

The human legion didn't have to wait long. As soon as the fleet stopped, the sea of clouds ahead scattered abruptly, revealing a golden rift a hundred thousand meters long. From within emerged Bordea and the other figures. "Brother Zhenwu, you've finally arrived."

After a brief exchange of greetings, Bordea solemnly said, "This isn't the place to talk. Let's go inside first. Once the other two legions arrive, we'll begin the evacuation."

"Very well."

Soon, the thirteen battleships passed through the rift and entered the inner layer of the crystalline wall. Only after the rift closed did Bordea and the others let out a breath of relief. He then explained, "This is a companion space to the Eternal Divine Region's boundary wall. Once everyone arrives, we'll leave through a rift left by the divine master. Then, the master will initiate Eternal Obliteration."

"Mutual destruction?" Xuanwu was stunned.

Bordea nodded with a grim expression. "Yes. The Eternal Divine Tree and this entire region will be buried together. Even if those demon gods are powerful, they'll be heavily injured, if not killed."

Gasp! Brutal. Even Zhenwu was shaken.

They had originally assumed that the Heavenly Feathered Race's retreat meant leaving behind a rear guard while most of their elite strength escaped. They hadn't expected the Divine King of Light, who stood at the peak of divine kings and had half-stepped into the emperor level, to be so resolute to choose mutual destruction.

This being, already halfway into becoming a civilization's emperor, had a virtually infinite lifespan. If he didn't want to die, even several beings of the same level wouldn't be able to kill him. At most, he would escape with some damage.

Now, however, such a being—together with a divine tree on the verge of reaching the true spirit level—was going to self-destruct in one final counterattack. The destructive power would be unimaginable.

"By the way," Bordea suddenly noticed something. "Where is your Divine Might King?"

"He's down below... refining a weapon."
