Naruto: Awakening Eternal Power with My Eye Techniques

Chapter 99: Cultivation of Kujaku's Secret Method

The entire cultivation process exuded a brutal, almost poetic intensity. According to Shiyu Uchiha's estimation, even if the radiation from "Star" was harmless, cultivating this way would almost certainly lead to problems nine times out of ten. Therefore, for his own safety, Shiyu Uchiha had no choice but to further refine the secret technique.

To better perfect the secret method, during one summoning of the ninja cat Saya, Shiyu Uchiha said to her, "Saya, help me deliver a letter to Ling Uzumaki. I need a collection of Yang Release books—the details are already clearly written in the letter. Bring them over tomorrow."

"Alright, Lord Shiyu, I understand. I'll cover the shipping cost myself, so don't worry about it." During Shiyu Uchiha's travels, Saya had often taken money for herself after discovering where he kept his cash.

At first, Shiyu Uchiha tried to reason with her about it, but later on, he simply grew too lazy to bother. Once she'd set her sights on something, there wasn't much he could do about it anyway—his main assets were all in real estate.

She delivered the letter to Ling Uzumaki and then brought back some Yang Release-related books for him. Moreover, Ling Uzumaki thoughtfully prepared a study reading list for him as well.

Then, while beginning to learn the theoretical knowledge of the Yang Release, Shiyu Uchiha resumed researching Kujaku's Secret Method. With the Enlightenment ability he'd developed through his Sharingan, his learning progressed effortlessly. While conducting his research, Shiyu also managed to convince the stunning Haru Hoshizora to become his assistant.

Knowing that escape was impossible, Haru Hoshizora reluctantly yielded to Shiyu Uchiha's authority. Still, deep inside she secretly planned her escape and wanted to reclaim "Star," the secret treasure of the Star Ninja Village. However, Shiyu Uchiha had long seen through her intentions and treated them merely as a source of amusement. After all, this woman made an excellent test subject for ninjutsu experimentation.

Thanks to Shiyu Uchiha's previously established solid foundation—even though he hadn't mastered Medical Ninjutsu in the past—and his current level of insight, he progressed faster than anticipated in learning Medical Ninjutsu.

Most crucially, thanks to detailed records of Yang Release knowledge preserved by the Uzumaki clan, Shiyu Uchiha didn't need to investigate every detail himself; most issues in the second chapter of Kujaku's Secret Method were resolved directly, and the remaining questions had similar answers which required only slight adaptation before application.

Therefore, within less than two months, Shiyu Uchiha successfully mastered [Healing Technique], a B-ranked form of Medical Ninjutsu. A large part of this achievement belonged to Saya—who, upon realizing Shiyu Uchiha's needs, transformed into a mouse-catching expert, capturing countless sand rats to assist with his training. The abundant experimental experience greatly accelerated his progress.

Of course, Saya the crafty merchant once again sold these sand rats at prices worthy of Akimichi-style barbecue—known for only using the finest cuts—which significantly drained Shiyu Uchiha's wallet.

Ultimately, after tremendous sacrifice from the sand rat tribe and when his knowledge reserves proved sufficient, Shiyu Uchiha successfully healed one sand rat, marking his mastery of [Healing Technique].

In high spirits, Shiyu Uchiha immediately released that sand rat. Unfortunately for the creature, it ran straight into Saya, who was just finishing up work, and was promptly captured again.

"Lord Shiyu, I caught a sand rat that was trying to escape. Am I awesome or what?" Saya said proudly, secretly deciding to charge Shiyu Uchiha extra for this.

Hearing this, Shiyu Uchiha replied with a chuckle, "Impressive! You're the best, Saya." At the same time, he silently offered his condolences to the poor sand rat, feeling as though it had simply met its destined fate. He decided not to defy fate and would let the unfortunate creature make another contribution during the next training session.

Not long after mastering the Healing Technique, Shiyu Uchiha completed modifications to the second chapter of Kujaku, deepened his understanding of Hoshizora, and even revised the first chapter of Kujaku, correcting several flaws.

After these improvements, Shiyu Uchiha practiced the first chapter of Kujaku again and noticed significant improvement in controlling the 'beasts.' He finally started working on the second chapter, [Tail].

To prevent Haru Hoshizora from causing trouble while he trained, Shiyu Uchiha temporarily imprisoned him, summoning ninken Saya again to serve briefly as an improvised jail guard while also staying alert to provide early warnings.

For roughly another month, Shiyu Uchiha worked hard at training and completed the cultivation of the second chapter, [Tail]. During formal practice, he once again sensed some imperfections, making further improvements, which cost him additional time.

When performed, this secret jutsu produced effects similar to the first chapter, manifesting Shiyu Uchiha's chakra as a tangible entity shaped like a peacock's tail behind him—somewhat resembling a Tailed Beast's tail. These tail-like appendages could be used offensively, though their speed and power didn't improve much over the first stage—only their number increased. Most importantly, they provided defensive capabilities. According to his test, if all five tails were extended simultaneously, they could withstand a single attack of A-rank Fire Release Ninjutsu — [Great Dragon Flame].

Moreover, through research, he discovered both forms could be combined, producing better results.

At this point, under radiation from the star, slight changes occurred within Shiyu Uchiha's body. However, whether these changes were positive or negative remained unclear to him at first; intuitively, he didn't feel anything dangerous. He then began carefully studying the final chapter of Kujaku — [Wings], which represented flight ability—the aspect Shiyu Uchiha most eagerly desired.

Now examining this final chapter closely, he found it no longer full of defects. Rather, solely due to Hoshizora's transformation of chakra, it somehow barely connected together, making the process of cultivation nearly impossible to describe.

Motivated by eagerness to fly, Shiyu Uchiha embarked upon further development work. Fortunately, since someone else had already succeeded in this technique, he possessed a clear goal, preventing himself from going in circles during his research.

Over the following days, Shiyu Uchiha continued learning Yang Release techniques while consulting Ling Uzumaki through ninken Saya about some advanced topics. By the time he mastered the A-rank Mystical Palm Technique, he had almost fully mastered the third chapter of Kujaku — [Wings].

He then began the refinement process. During his research, he once again turned his gaze maliciously toward Haru Hoshizora. Faced with the power of the Sharingan, Haru Hoshizora was very cooperative and acted as a qualified research subject.

To make this subject even more valuable, Shiyu Uchiha carefully considered his approach before deciding to teach his improved [Kujaku Technique] to her. While observing her cultivation, he gathered additional research material. He promised her that if she continued to cooperate, he would let her go once his training concluded.
