Naruto : Bastard Sytem

Chapter 16: Two bells

"Starting now!" Kakashi shouted, then disappeared in front of the three with incredible speed.

Naruto immediately chased after him, while Sasuke and Sakura split up.

Quickly, Naruto climbed a tree and hid behind the leaves. He observed the situation for a moment before the voice in his head spoke again.

[Kakashi Hatake has started the Genin exam. He believes that those who fail will be sent back to the Ninja Academy for retraining. Now that you know his trick, the choices you will make are...]

[Option 1: Stay friendly. Find Sakura and Sasuke, tell them about the objective, then work together to pass the test. Reward: (Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu)]

[Option 2: Act rationally. Use your own skills to grab the bells, then share them with Sakura and Sasuke so they can pass. Reward: (Katon: Gouka Mekkyaku)]

[Option 3: Act recklessly. Don't take the bells, but find Sakura and hit her in the forest. Reward: (Katon: Gouka Messhitsu)]

[Option 4: Be ruthless. Kill Kakashi after taking the bells. Reward: (Rinnegan Eyes)]

Naruto sighed. "What kind of choices are these?" he muttered before finally jumping down and running toward Sakura.

He found her hiding behind some bushes, but it was too obvious—her hiding technique was terrible.

Without saying anything, Naruto grabbed Sakura's wrist and pulled her deeper into the forest.

Sakura panicked for a moment before realizing it was Naruto. "Naruto, what are you doing?" she asked quietly.

"Be quiet and follow me."

Meanwhile, Kakashi stood atop a tree, observing their movements. Naruto seemed the most active and had already pulled Sakura away. Because of that, he decided to go after Sasuke first.

However, before Kakashi could move, Sasuke had already launched an attack. Two shuriken flew straight toward him.

Kakashi effortlessly caught them between two fingers.

"Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu!"

A massive fireball roared toward Kakashi, but he easily dodged it using the Body Replacement Jutsu.

Sasuke, caught off guard, was immediately ambushed.

"Doton: Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu."

In an instant, Sasuke was pulled into the ground, leaving only his head exposed above the surface.

Kakashi smirked. "Now, time to find the other two."

Three minutes later, Kakashi found Sakura in the forest, about thirty meters away. However, what puzzled him was how disheveled she looked. Her clothes were dirty, her hair was messy, and her eyes were filled with tears.

When she saw Kakashi, she started crying. "Kakashi-sensei... Naruto, he... he..."

Kakashi narrowed his eyes. "What happened?"

Sakura wiped her tears. "Naruto said there are only two bells. If I give up now, he and Sasuke can pass."

Kakashi's eyes widened. If that were true, he would never let Naruto pass.

But before he could react, a kunai flew toward him. Kakashi reflexively dodged, but dozens of shuriken were already waiting in his path.

As he leaped to avoid them, someone appeared behind him with a Rasengan in hand.

It was Naruto.

Kakashi was stunned. "How is this possible?"

Naruto was still supposed to be in the Academy. How did he learn such a high-level technique?

With no other choice, Kakashi activated his Sharingan and countered with Chidori. The two techniques clashed, creating a massive explosion of energy before canceling each other out.

Amid the chaos, a shadow flickered.

A sharp kunai swung, and two bells fell from Kakashi's waist.

Naruto swiftly caught them and ran.

As he turned back, his body began to change.

It was no longer Naruto but... Sakura?

Kakashi's eyes widened. "So that wasn't the real Sakura earlier?!"

Naruto chuckled. "I get it now."

The Oiroke Gokui no Jutsu was far more effective than he had expected. After successfully fooling the Third Hokage before, he had wanted to see if it would work on Kakashi too—and it did.

"Naruto, I never expected you to use Sakura's appearance to trick me." Kakashi scratched his head, sighing in defeat. "You're really a clever one."

Naruto grinned. "It's called strategy, Kakashi-sensei."

Kakashi sighed. "This kid is far too dangerous," he thought.

At the meeting point, Kakashi freed Sasuke from the ground and tied him to a wooden post.

Sasuke lowered his head, frustrated. He had lost to Naruto again.

Meanwhile, Naruto stood with both bells in his hands, staring at Sasuke and Sakura with an unreadable expression.

Kakashi looked at him seriously. "Naruto, it's your decision. You can choose one person to be your teammate, or let them both return to the Academy."

A heavy silence filled the air.

Sakura bit her lip. On one hand, there was Sasuke, whom she admired. On the other, there was the opportunity to become a ninja.

In her heart, she thought, "Maybe if I give up, it would be best for Naruto and Sasuke."

But just as Sakura was about to speak, Naruto suddenly moved.

He raised the two bells... then threw them toward Sasuke and Sakura.

"I don't want them."

Sasuke and Sakura froze.

Kakashi frowned. "Naruto, are you sure? If you give up the bells, you'll have to go back to the Academy."

Naruto simply smiled. "It's fine. You guys become ninjas. I'll find another way to become Hokage."

Sasuke was stunned. He lowered his head, unable to say anything, confused by Naruto's behavior but choosing to stay silent.

Sakura looked at Naruto, feeling something strange in her heart.

All this time, she had thought that only she had feelings for Sasuke. But now, she realized something.

Naruto had liked her for a long time. Even longer than her feelings for Sasuke.

Her heart pounded.

Was Sasuke or Naruto more important?

Before Sakura could find an answer, Kakashi suddenly clapped his hands.

"Congratulations to all of you. You pass!"

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the second objective. Reward (Katon: Gouka Mekkyaku) has been distributed.]
