Naruto: Call Me Akuma

Chapter 37: Eight Gates

It had been one month since Akuma arrived in Konoha.

At first, the Third Hokage himself came to verify whether Akuma truly had no chakra. In the Naruto world, a person without chakra was almost unheard of, so such a claim had to be investigated. When the Hokage examined him, even he was shocked by what he discovered.

After that, many questions followed—where was his village? How had he survived? But no matter how many times they asked, Akuma always gave the same response: "I don't know" or "I don't remember."

Despite the Hokage's personal confirmation, news of a boy without a chakra network spread like wildfire throughout the village. Curious and skeptical, medical-nin and various clan members came to examine him, treating him as if he were some kind of anomaly. They ran tests, conducted examinations, and even performed a few minor experiments, all in an attempt to understand why he had no chakra network.

But after days of investigation, they found nothing unusual. There was no hidden mystery, no deeper explanation—he was simply a boy without a chakra network, which was worse than even a common civilian.

Eventually, they gave up.

Now, Akuma lived in the orphanage. It wasn't difficult for him to adjust—he had experience surviving in worse conditions, so he adapted quickly.

However, one thing continued to bother him—the other children.

They had started calling him the most useless person in Konoha. To them, a boy without chakra was worthless—someone who could never become a ninja, never amount to anything. They mocked him constantly, even ridiculing his red hair, treating him as if he were beneath them.

But Akuma didn't care.

Most of the time, he ignored them, focusing on something far more important—deepening his understanding of Satsui no Hado.

The Clothes of Perfection helped him tremendously. Now, he finally understood why his body had been tearing apart—it wasn't just the overwhelming power of Satsui no Hado but his own lack of control. He had been letting the energy surge wildly throughout his body instead of directing it properly. That reckless flow had caused the destructive strain on his muscles.

To master it, he needed to guide the energy with precision, channeling it only where he needed it rather than letting it run rampant. If he failed, it could lead to disastrous consequences.

Determined to refine his control, Akuma spent three weeks meditating, focusing solely on Satsui no Hado. Through intense concentration, he gradually learned to channel the energy in a controlled and steady manner, leading only as much energy as his body could handle. As a result, his physical abilities skyrocketed.

Satsui no Hado didn't just enhance strength—it also increased durability and regeneration. With each passing day, he could feel his body adapting, becoming sturdier and more resilient.

But Akuma wanted more.

If Satsui no Hado could amplify his physical prowess, then surely it could unlock even greater abilities. He wondered—how could he learn to fly? How could he project energy from his hands? Most importantly, how could he master teleportation?

The Akuma from Street Fighter possessed all these powers. Yet, no matter how much he meditated or experimented, he couldn't figure out how to manifest them.

Still, he refused to give up.

With unwavering determination, he continued his meditation, diving deeper into the mysteries of Satsui no Hado, searching for enlightenment that would take him to the next level.

But even after meditating for another week, Akuma still hadn't made any progress. His control over Satsui no Hado had improved significantly, yet he remained clueless about unlocking other abilities.

He had two theories.

The first was that he lacked the necessary energy to activate those abilities. The second was that his body wasn't strong enough to handle them yet.

If the first theory was correct, there was nothing he could do about it right now. Trying to force more Satsui no Hado into his body would only cause him to lose control, which could end in disaster. Moreover, his body wasn't yet strong enough to endure the damage such power would inflict.

That left only one option—he needed to train his body.

His current plan was to learn the Eight Gates from Might Guy, along with martial arts, because that would help him complete his mission. After all, Might Guy was the strongest Taijutsu master in this world, making him the perfect teacher.

And then, there was his hidden bonus mission. If he completed it, he would gain the chakra level of a Jonin but would only be able to use Taijutsu—an outcome that was perfect for Akuma, given his goal of mastering the Eight Gates. He had some idea of how to complete the mission, but right now, he didn't want to think about it.

Once he completed it, he would gain the chakra level of a Jonin. With the Eight Gates, Satsui no Hado, and the World Items, he was certain of one thing—he would one day have the strength to destroy all five great hidden villages.

After finalizing his plan, Akuma stopped meditating and set out to find Might Guy. He had a good idea of where to look—most likely, Guy would be training near the village, as usual.

Over the past month, Might Guy had visited the orphanage a few times to check on him. Through these visits, they had gotten to know each other well.

With that in mind, Akuma headed toward the nearby forest, where Might Guy often trained.

Just as he had expected, he found Might Guy in the forest, doing push-ups.

"Ugh! I can do 300 more push-ups! Ahhh!!" Guy grunted, his muscles straining with each repetition.

Noticing Akuma standing before him, Might Guy paused and looked up. "What's wrong, Akuma? Why are you here?"

Akuma pretended to be nervous, lowering his gaze as he spoke in a hesitant voice. "G-Guy-sensei... could you teach me Taijutsu?"

At that, Might Guy immediately sat down in a lotus position, facing Akuma with a serious expression. "Oh? And why do you want to learn Taijutsu?"

Akuma paused for a few seconds, as if deep in thought, before answering. "Because everyone calls me worthless... They say I'm useless without chakra. I want to prove them wrong. I want to become a ninja stronger than anyone else in the world! Even without chakra, I'll use Taijutsu alone to achieve that!"

For a moment, Might Guy simply stared at him. Then, a wide, approving smile spread across his face.

"It will be very hard for you to achieve that dream of yours," he said seriously. "Are you willing to put your all into it?"

Without hesitation, Akuma nodded, his expression unwavering.

Might Guy's smile grew even wider. "Akuma, you remind me of another boy who carried the flames of youth in his heart!"

Then, suddenly, his voice boomed with enthusiasm. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! JOIN ME!!"

Without missing a beat, Akuma quickly dropped down beside him and began doing push-ups alongside Might Guy.
