Naruto: Call Me Akuma

Chapter 39: Rock Lee

One thing that fascinated me about myself was how monstrously fast I was at learning anything related to martial arts. I knew for a fact that I wasn't a martial arts genius in my past life. But ever since I started training under Guy-sensei, I've been understanding everything he teaches me as if I already knew it.

The working theory I have is that I possess the body of Akuma from Street Fighter—a monster of a genius in martial arts. In his universe, he is the greatest martial artist to have ever lived. Now, with his body and The Clothes of Perfection boosting my experience gain by 50%, my learning speed is almost unnatural.

Even if I only caught a glimpse of a martial arts technique, I could immediately visualize the entire sequence—predicting movements and counters purely on intuition. It was as if my body already knew the answers before my mind could even process them. Just thinking about it shocked me.

Guy-sensei had taught me a vast array of Taijutsu techniques, many of which bore striking similarities to martial arts from my original world—boxing, karate, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, Aikido, and more. However, the three styles that resonated with me the most were Karate, Judo, and Kempo. Together, they allowed me to master a balance of grappling, striking, and swift, fluid movements.

Most of the techniques Guy-sensei taught me were brutally efficient—focused on precise and lethal execution. Unlike the martial arts in my original world, which primarily emphasized self-defense, these techniques were designed with only one purpose: to kill the enemy. It was clear that a ninja's role was not to protect, but to eliminate threats. While he did teach me a handful of techniques meant for restraining opponents, they were rare. In the world of shinobi, survival often depended on striking first and without hesitation.

After living in Konoha for more than two months as a 5-year-old, I finally understood which timeline I was in. Naruto was just a 10-year-old boy. I figured this out after hearing Guy-sensei talk about a boy named Rock Lee, who is currently 11 years old. From my past knowledge, I knew that Rock Lee was roughly one year older than Naruto. That meant Naruto had to be around 10 years old, which aligned perfectly with my estimates.

I haven't met Naruto or Rock Lee yet, and I have no intention of doing so anytime soon. I don't want to interfere with the timeline unnecessarily. If I alter it too much, my plans could fall apart, and I'd lose my greatest advantage—my knowledge of the future. Right now, there's no need to take such drastic action. But when the time comes... I will destroy everything.

I headed toward my usual training spot, following the daily routine I had stuck to for the past month. It always began with 15 minutes of stretching, followed by a three-lap run around the entire village, which usually took me about three hours. After that, I spent eight hours doing push-ups, pull-ups, jumping jacks, and other exercises to push my body to its limits. Once my training was done, I would head back to the orphanage.

This had been my routine for the past month.

But today was different.

When I arrived at my usual training spot, Guy-sensei was already there, waiting for me.

"I've been waiting for you, Akuma," he said with his usual enthusiasm.

Seeing him here made me happy—whenever he showed up, he always taught me a new Taijutsu technique, and every lesson had been incredibly valuable.

However, one thing that still bothered me was having to act like a five-year-old. It had been frustrating at first, but since I already had experience pretending to be a child, I eventually got used to it.

Shaking off the thought, I ran up to him, excited.

"Guy-sensei! Are you here to teach me a new technique? If so, can you show me how you punch the air and create a lion? I want to learn that!"

Guy's expression quickly turned into one of mild annoyance. Without hesitation, he bonked me on the head.

"Calm down, Akuma!" he scolded.

Rubbing my head, I faked an apologetic look. "Sorry, Guy-sensei!"

"Now listen to me, Akuma. I've noticed that you don't have any friends—you spend all your time training, and that's not healthy for your emotional well-being. You need to make some friends."

Hearing those words from Guy-sensei made me question my own hearing. Did he really just say that? After a moment of thought, I asked, "Did Kakashi-sensei tell you to say that?"

Seeing that he'd been caught red-handed, Guy-sensei quickly bonked me on the head. "That's not the important thing! What matters is that you need social connections!"

Rubbing my head, I put on a sorrowful expression and sighed. "Well, Guy-sensei, nobody wants to be my friend. Every time I try, they just call me names, so I stopped trying."

Seeing my expression, Guy-sensei suddenly burst into tears. It was both weird and oddly amusing to watch. Then, with tearful eyes and a loud, passionate voice, he shouted, "DON'T WORRY, AKUMA!!! I have found you a friend who will never call you names! He is just like you—overflowing with the power of youth! Wait right here, I'll bring him to meet you!"

Before I could even react, Guy-sensei had already vanished, sprinting off at insane speed. I couldn't even see him anymore.

From his words alone, I already knew who he was talking about. It had to be Rock Lee.

Internally, I cursed my fate. I didn't want to meet him yet. Changing the timeline even a little could lead to unexpected consequences. But now, there was nothing I could do—I had no choice but to meet Rock Lee.

After waiting for about ten minutes, I suddenly heard the loud cry of a young boy. Turning my head, I saw Guy-sensei sprinting toward me at full speed—carrying Rock Lee on his back.

"Guy-senseeeeei!!! Pppplease stoop! I'm about to pass out!!!" Rock Lee screamed, his voice filled with desperation.

When I got a closer look at his face, I almost felt sorry for him. He looked like someone who had been through a hurricane.

Guy-sensei abruptly stopped right in front of me, kicking up a cloud of dust in the process. The swirling dirt made it hard to see, but I could still make out his usual enthusiastic grin.

"Akuma! Didn't I tell you about a boy named Rock Lee? Well, here he is! From now on, he'll be your training partner. Call him Brother Lee!"

With that, Guy-sensei carefully lowered Rock Lee to the ground—only to realize the boy had already passed out.

Looking a bit embarrassed, Guy-sensei scratched his head before turning to me. "Akuma, do you happen to have some water?"

Without hesitation, I rushed to my bag and pulled out a water bottle. Guy-sensei took it and unceremoniously poured the entire thing over Rock Lee's head.

Lee shot up instantly, flailing his arms. "Save me! I'm drowning!!!"

Seeing this, Guy-sensei simply slapped him on the back. "Calm down, Lee!"

After a few deep breaths, Rock Lee finally regained his senses.

Guy-sensei then clapped his hands together and beamed. "Rock Lee, meet your new brother and training partner, Akuma!"
