Chapter 170: Chapter 170
Haruto Saito noticed that Minato Namikaze had seen him, so he immediately waved. However, after Minato's eyes lit up for a brief moment, his expression quickly changed. He immediately turned around, lowered his head, and walked away with his small backpack, quickening his pace—clearly trying to avoid Haruto.
"Hey! Hey!" Haruto quickly called out twice. Within just a couple of breaths, he caught up to Minato, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "What's up, kid? Why are you avoiding me?"
"Go away." Minato kept his head down and continued walking.
"Come on, I didn't even do anything to you." Haruto followed closely.
"Just leave me alone."
"Who beat you up? Tsk tsk, want me to help you get back at them?"
Minato suddenly stopped in his tracks. He lifted his head and looked at Haruto with a sour expression. After a brief silence, he finally said, "Don't come looking for me anymore. Otherwise, I'll get into trouble. I hate trouble..." After saying that, he lowered his head again and resumed walking.
"What happened?" Haruto became even more curious. Seeing Minato's bruised and swollen face, he immediately said, "See? I was right! You didn't listen to me, and now you're covered in bruises! I actually warned you about this. Sigh! Why don't you ever believe me?"
Minato stopped again, looked at Haruto, and said, "Even if you were right... you still shouldn't come looking for me anymore."
"Why not? You at least have to tell me why."
"Because... because Kushina Uzumaki won't allow me to get too close to you."
"Uh... her? You're afraid of her?"
Minato immediately raised his hand and pointed at his own face.
Haruto understood instantly!
So Minato got beaten up by Kushina? Wait, hold on! Could Kushina really beat Minato in a fight?
Haruto knew that Kushina was extremely talented. She was born with an enormous amount of chakra—enough to suppress a Tailed Beast. Her physical strength was also impressive, far exceeding that of her peers. But even with all that, she shouldn't be strong enough to defeat Minato, should she?
"How many people did Kushina bring to beat you up?" Haruto asked directly.
"Twenty-three!" Minato said, a hint of frustration flashing across his face. "I took down seventeen! If there hadn't been so many of them, and if a few of them weren't senior students about to graduate, I... hmph! Anyway, stop coming to find me from now on!"
Haruto was a bit surprised.
Wow, Minato really had some serious combat skills!
They were all just students, yet Minato had managed to fight over twenty people on his own! Even though he lost in the end, taking down seventeen of them was nothing to be ashamed of.
But... his personality was a bit problematic.
If Minato had Haruto's mindset, he would've already formed his own gang of followers and taken over the school. But Minato... Haruto could tell that he wasn't distancing himself out of fear. No, Minato simply didn't want trouble. He didn't want Kushina to keep pestering him over and over again.
It was seriously interfering with his school life.
To sum it up, Minato was a good kid. The type that didn't want to cause trouble but also didn't go looking for it.
A little too good, honestly.
"Sigh! You really don't know how to solve problems. Do you really think that if I stop coming to see you, your troubles will just disappear?" Haruto forcefully slung an arm around Minato's shoulders and led him forward. "You can't be weak in situations like this, got it?"
"I'm not weak. Some of them got hurt even worse than me," Minato argued.
"No, no, no. That's not what I meant." Haruto shook his head. "I know you're not the type to stir up trouble, but that doesn't mean you should be afraid of it either, understand? Running away won't truly solve anything."
"Hey! You bastard! You actually dared to come here!"
A sharp voice suddenly rang out from the school gate.
Without even turning around, Haruto grabbed Minato and took off in a flash.
Kushina, leading a group of lackeys, tried to chase after them, but after only a few steps, she stopped. She couldn't keep up at all. Frustrated, she stomped her foot hard on the ground and glared angrily in the direction where Haruto and Minato had disappeared.
"That damn pretty boy! I told you to stay away from that idiot! Bastard! They're all bastards!" Kushina muttered through gritted teeth.
Downtown Market Street
The setting sun painted the sky a blood-red hue, and though darkness was setting in, the streets remained lively and bustling.
Jiangchuan Restaurant, Second Floor
Minato sat by the window, staring blankly at the lively street below. His small face was filled with worry—maybe even sadness. He hated trouble. But now, he couldn't escape from it anymore.
"Worried that Kushina will come after you tomorrow?" Haruto asked, smiling as he finished ordering their food. "Why don't you just beat her up? Even if she gathers a whole group of people, don't be afraid. Just grab her by the hair, slam her to the ground, and beat her up good! If you're fierce enough, they'll all be too scared to mess with you again."
Minato turned to look at Haruto, then slowly shook his head. "I don't hit girls."
Haruto froze.
Wow.
Just… wow.
Minato was really something else.
Sure, a lot of boys believed in not hitting girls when they were younger. But when the other side was actively bullying you, still refusing to fight back? That just didn't make any sense!
"You! Can't you just be a little tougher?" Haruto sighed in frustration. "Fighting doesn't mean you have to kill someone! Listen to me. If Kushina causes trouble for you again, don't worry about how many people she brings. Just grab that brat, beat her up until she submits! If she brings more people, beat her again! Keep doing it until she gives up! That way, no one will dare to mess with you anymore, and you won't have any more trouble. Understand?"
"Now, normally, I don't encourage violence," Haruto continued, "but you want peace. You want a quiet school life. The only way to get that is by making sure no one dares to bother you. If you don't fight back, you'll just keep suffering. Do you get what I mean?"
Haruto said all this without the slightest concern that he might be setting a bad example for a younger kid.
"But..." Minato hesitated. He was tempted. Fighting didn't scare him. He just didn't want unnecessary trouble. But if fighting could solve the trouble... then maybe it wasn't such a bad idea.
"What are you worried about?" Haruto asked.
"Lady Tsunade..." Minato said straightforwardly.
"Oh! You're afraid that if you beat up Kushina, Tsunade will punish you?" Haruto immediately understood.
Minato nodded.
"Leave that to me!" Haruto slammed the table confidently. "If that crazy woman dares to cause trouble for you, just come to me! I'll handle her! Trust me, I've got your back. She won't dare to do anything to you."
Minato remained silent, seemingly still deep in thought.
"Enough about that for now!" Haruto suddenly changed the topic. "Have you considered my suggestion? Graduating early! Remember what I told you? If you don't listen to me, you'll suffer misfortune. And I was right, wasn't I?"
"That doesn't mean you predicted it. You could've just guessed it," Minato countered. "You have a grudge against Kushina, so you knew she'd cause trouble."
"You still don't believe me."
"You're saying impossible things. Why should I believe you?"
"Hmm... In that case," Haruto paused and smirked. "Guess how I found the Black Armor?"
Minato shook his head. There were too many possible answers.
"I calculated it!" Haruto made a hand sign. "Using this ability, I found the Black Armor. And I also used it to foresee your fate!"
Minato fell silent again, looking at Haruto with a do-you-think-I'm-an-idiot? expression.
"You don't believe me?" Haruto asked.
"Nope." Minato nodded.
"Alright, if you don't believe me, then I'll show you right now." Haruto grinned, his eyes flashing with excitement.
He had decided—it was time to use his second Treasure Card!
