CHAPTER 80] Telling current Ashura about previous Ashura
"Haa," Kakashi chuckled lightly, hearing Fuu call Chōmei "My Big Bug." He quickly pulled up his forehead protector, uncovering his left eye. Although keep his left eye still closed, he was only looking at Chōmei with his right eye, but his left eye was already in a Mangekyō Sharingan state.
Even though Chōmei was an easygoing Tailed-Beast, safety was still a priority, because this was, after all, a Bijuu.
'Again,' Kakashi thought, a familiar sensation washing over him. Ever since he had gained access to the Kamui dimension's Self-Teleportation ability, he could sense any minor or major fluctuations within the space whenever his Sharingan was in the Mangekyō stage.
These fluctuations were, of course, caused by Obito, who was using Kamui almost 24/7.
Kakashi didn't dwell on that further and turned to look at Chōmei, who herself was looking down at a smiling Fuu. Fuu's sudden action was also surprising for Chōmei, as she had been focused on the conversation between Naruto, Kurama, and Kakashi, before the cage around her suddenly vanished.
Chōmei chuckled. "Fuu, don't call me big bug. I already told you my real name is Chōmei."
Fuu laughed. "Sorry, sorry! I was just excited that you're free now, not caged anymore. Alright, I'll call you Chōmei from now on."
Kakashi sighed in relief, understanding that Chōmei had no desire to do anything dangerous to Fuu, but he still didn't cover his left eye.
"Chōmei, what are you doing? You're free, just—" Kurama began, but Chōmei interrupted him.
"Brother, I understand your anger, but they aren't like the humans you hate. These kids are kind; you should listen to the blonde one," the giant beetle said.
Kurama snorted angrily. "This brat? Not only did that damn Minato seal me inside his son, but he also cut me in two half and sealed my other half in the Shikigami with him, which may or may never be freed! And you want me to listen to this Brat?"
Chōmei didn't speak this time. Although all the Tailed-Beasts weren't together, they could still sense any vanished chakra from a sibling. They were all connected through the Sage of Six Path's chakra, which allowed them to be aware of each other's states, even when sealed far away.
When Kurama was split in two, they had all been aware of the event, and so Chōmei had nothing to say to Kurama on the matter.
Naruto was once again caught off guard by this new information. He looked at Kurama and then at Kakashi for answers and confirmation.
Kakashi understood his expression. "Naruto, and Fuu, you should both listen. You didn't know this, but these Tailed-Beasts were unknown to the world until decades ago. Let me tell you the real reason why they are called monsters and why, aside from Chōmei, the others usually have a great deal of hatred for humans. Kur... Kyūbi is at the top of this list."
Kakashi's words grabbed the attention of not only Naruto and Fuu but also Chōmei and Kurama. Kurama, in particular, caught Kakashi's slip of the tongue and felt that he was about to say his real name.
'But that shouldn't be possible. How can this human know my true name? That must have been a mistake!' Kurama concluded internally. Chōmei, meanwhile, glanced at Kakashi with her orange-red eyes, curious to know just how much this human knew about them.
Kakashi narrated. "Decades ago, when Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, and Madara Uchiha had some disputes, especially with Second Hokage, Tobirama as well, it resulted in Madara leaving the village. Later, he returned with more power and with someone else, and that someone was the Kyūbi, who was being controlled by Madara's Mangekyō Sharingan."
Kurama's red eyes widened in disbelief. "H-HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL THAT?!" he roared.
Kakashi, ignoring him, paused, allowing his words to sink into Naruto and Fuu's minds. Naruto asked, "Madara Uchiha? I don't remember that name, but Uchiha? Was he from Sasuke's clan?"
Kakashi nodded. He understood why Naruto and the current generation didn't know about Madara, even with his huge statue in the Valley of the End standing in front of Hashirama's. He was not taught about in the Ninja Academy.
There were only a few records of him left anyway, aside from him being the Uchiha's ancestor and the person who established Konoha with Hashirama, which are obviously not part of Ninja Academy curriculum.
"Yes, he was from the Uchiha Clan and was also the friend of Hashirama-sama. At the Valley of the End, Madara fought with Hashirama, with the Kyūbi on his side, but the end result was that Madara lost and... died. Hashirama-sama felt that the power of the Kyūbi was too dangerous, so he decided to capture him and all the other similar Tailed-Beasts in the world."
Kurama burst out once more. "HEY! ANSWER ME! HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS SO CLEARLY?!"
Kakashi just casually glanced at Kurama before turning back to Naruto and Fuu. He added, "Hashirama-sama captured all the Tailed-Beasts, who were pretty much unknown to the world. Most of the population still wasn't aware of them. Aside from the One-Tail's in Sunagakure, all eight were captured by him and distributed among all the great nations, while he kept the strongest, the Nine-Tails, this fox, in Konoha."
As Kakashi stopped, Naruto sank into his own thoughts, contemplating everything he had just heard. Fuu, meanwhile, thought of something and asked, "But Takigakure isn't considered a great nation, right? Or is it...?"
Kakashi nodded. "It is not. And I don't have the full details about it, but considering that Sunagakure captured a Tailed-Beast before Hashirama-sama and hid this fact, maybe that's why Takigakure got one, since even at that time, they were allies of Konoha."
"Oh!" Fuu nodded in understanding, before looking back at Chōmei.
