Chapter 37: The True Eight Trigrams Seal
-----
-----
Kushina was convinced that Tsunade must have suffered at Uchiha Kira's hands before, which was
why she was now trying to drag her down with her.
"Just you wait! Hmph!"
Clenching her fists tightly, Kushina gritted her teeth and swore to get back at Tsunade later.
"Ahem!"
Realizing that Uchiha Kira was still beside her, she quickly loosened her fists, cleared her throat, and
put on a serious face. "Since your comprehension skills are pretty good, you can keep learning from
me. Let's see how far you can go."
...
[Your Chakra Sealing Technique has reached mastery.]
[Your Contract Seal has reached mastery.]
[Your Four Symbols Seal has reached mastery and has evolved into the Eight Trigrams Seal.
Your Eight Trigrams Seal has reached mastery.]
"Damn, you actually developed a more advanced Eight Trigrams Seal based on the Four Symbols
Seal? This is way stronger and more refined than simply stacking two Four Symbols Seals together!"
Kushina couldn't help but marvel at Kira's explanation of the Eight Trigrams Seal he had created.
She had learned about the concept of the Eight Trigrams Seal from Uzumaki Mito, but even Mito's version was just two Four Symbols Seals stacked on top of each other. In the end, it was still just a
variation of the Four Symbols Seal.
However, the Eight Trigrams Seal that Uchiha Kira explained was completely different—a true and
complete Eight Trigrams Seal, far superior to the makeshift version Mito had used.
"Heh, not bad, right? So, do you want to learn it?"
"With this new Eight Trigrams Seal, you can replace that incomplete version on your body, giving
you much better control over that 'thing' inside you."
Kira smirked as he spoke to Kushina.
"W-what?! You..."
Kushina's face instantly paled as she stared at Kira in shock. "You saw it?"
"Of course!"
Kira casually shrugged. "That huge mass of special chakra? It's impossible to miss."
"Besides, the more proficient I become in sealing techniques, the clearer I can sense the powerful
seals placed on you."
Lowering her head slightly, Kushina hesitated before asking in a quiet voice, "So… do you think I'm
a monster too?"
"Huh?"
Kira blinked, momentarily speechless. "What kind of nonsense is that? So what if you have
something small sealed inside you? Why would that make you a monster?"
That didn't make any sense.
Kurama: "...You're the small one! Your whole family is small!"
At that moment, Kurama, who had been observing Kushina's emotional shift, decided to peek
outside the seal—just in time to hear Kira's outrageous words.
Fur bristling in anger, the Nine-Tails nearly exploded on the spot.
If Kira didn't give off such an unnervingly dangerous aura, Kurama would have already leapt out
and smacked him with its claws to teach him a lesson in physics.
Just as it was about to poke its head out—
"Huh?"
The next second, Kurama locked eyes with Kira's cold, piercing gaze. The sheer pressure of Kira's
terrifying spiritual energy, combined with his ominously glowing golden-red eyes, crashed down on
Kurama like a bucket of ice water.
The Nine-Tails shuddered involuntarily.
"Nope! Not worth it! I'm out!"
Without hesitation, Kurama shrank back into the depths of the seal.
Getting insulted was one thing, but getting beaten up? No thanks!
"Huh?"
Kushina noticed something strange about Kira's expression, as well as a sudden shift in Kurama's
presence inside her. She gave Kira a puzzled look. "Wait… you can see Kurama? And what did you
just do? It almost seems like… it's scared of you?"
The more she observed Kira, the more mysterious he seemed.
"It's nothing!"
Kira waved it off with a grin. "Just a little trick with my spiritual energy. Anyway, you don't need to
feel burdened about being a Jinchuriki. I don't see it as a big deal. Now, let's get back to learning
the Eight Trigrams Seal."
"Alright!"
Deciding not to press further, Kushina focused on studying the new seal.
She had a strong natural talent for sealing techniques, and with her foundation in the Four Symbols
Seal and the incomplete Eight Trigrams Seal, she quickly grasped the concepts. In just a few days,
she would be able to master it completely.
"Looks like you've got the basics down."
Seeing that Kushina had successfully grasped the fundamentals, Kira stopped his explanation. "Now
you just need to practice it a bit more, and once you're comfortable, you can replace the old seal
yourself.
Of course, I can help if you need me to."
"No need!"
Kushina smiled and shook her head. "I want to handle this myself. I need to prove that I can
suppress it completely on my own."
"Alright, let's keep going with more sealing techniques. I'll explain, and you listen."
"Sounds good!"
---
Inside the Hokage's Office—
"Tsunade, what were you thinking? Why did you let Uchiha Kira meet Kushina?"
"Do you not realize that Kushina is a Jinchuriki?"
"Are you unaware of how dangerous the Sharingan is to Jinchuriki?"
The Third Hokage glared at Tsunade, his voice filled with displeasure.
He had only just received the report from the Anbu and Danzo's faction—Tsunade had personally
taken Uchiha Kira to meet Uzumaki Kushina.
This was the last thing Hiruzen wanted. The Jinchuriki was too important to both him and the
village. He had specific plans for her, and at such a critical time, the last thing he needed was an
unexpected variable like Kira interfering.
Even if it was someone he intended to bring under his control, this was unacceptable.
"Tch!"
Tsunade rolled her eyes in disdain. "Old man, don't think I don't know what you're up to. Listen up
—Kushina is my little sister, not just some 'Jinchuriki.'"
"Who I introduce to her is my decision!"
"She barely has any friends left. What, are you planning to keep her locked away?"
"You didn't dare treat her like this when my grandmother was around!"
"Besides, Kira is my student, and I trust him completely. So what if I introduce them?"
"It's not like they're up to anything shady. He's just learning sealing techniques from her."
"Aren't you the one who wants Kushina to build stronger bonds with the village? To integrate
more?"
"Letting her befriend Kira sounds like the perfect way to do that, don't you think?"
