Chapter 11: Chapter 10 : New skill
Kirito looked at the notification and smiled.
A glowing system prompt hovered in front of him:
New Skill Acquired!
Weapon Throwing - Level 1 (Proficiency: 1%)
Description:
Enhances accuracy of thrown projectiles by 10%.
Increases the chance of landing a critical hit by 1%.
Boosts overall damage of thrown weapons by 10%.
Kirito's grin widened. "Oh, this is actually useful!" he muttered, excitement flickering in his eyes.
Feeling reinvigorated, he picked up another wooden kunai, gripping it tightly before launching it at the wooden log target. The kunai soared through the air and—thunk!—landed squarely on its surface.
"Haha! It worked!" Kirito beamed.
Minato, who had been watching with an odd expression, finally spoke. "Why do you look so happy throwing kunai like it's some divine revelation?"
Kirito waved him off. "Don't worry about it, just—just training!"
Minato raised an eyebrow but shrugged and continued his own practice.
Kirito kept at it, kunai after kunai. This time, he could tell that his accuracy was indeed improved . Before, he could barely hit the log one out of ten times. Now? Nearly half his throws were actually landing!
After about twenty more throws, he felt his arm growing heavy, his movements sluggish now he understood Constitution 3 means. His shoulder ached, his fingers felt sore, and beads of sweat trickled down his forehead. But he refused to stop. He gritted his teeth and pushed forward, forcing his body beyond its limits.
Ding!
System Notification:
Due to continuous exertion beyond physical limits…
Constitution +1
Stamina +1
Kirito's eyes gleamed. A stat boost just from throwing kunai? This budget system is amazing!
Brimming with satisfaction, he reached for another kunai—only to realize his hands were completely unresponsive. His arms felt like overcooked noodles. He tried to lift them, but his muscles protested violently. He groaned, finally collapsing onto the grass, utterly exhausted but grinning like a madman.
Curious, he opened his status screen and checked his Weapon Throwing skill.
Weapon Throwing - Level 1 (Proficiency: 83%)
"Oh? Just a little more and it'll hit Level 2? Nice!" Kirito muttered.
Glancing to his side, he noticed Minato was still at it, diligently throwing kunai despite the obvious fatigue on his face. Kirito admired his perseverance—though, to be fair, Minato wasn't nearly as wiped out as he was as e has better physique then him whose are close to toddlers.
Kirito estimated the time. "Must be around 4:30 PM…"
As he lay on the grass, he started making plans. Maybe , I should explore Konoha. Try some of that famous ramen… But his thoughts quickly derailed as his mind drifted back to everything that had happened today—
Transmigration. Absurd physique. An insane backstory. A meeting with Danzo. The scam shop. Kunai training.
This was, without a doubt, the longest day of his life.
I'm so tired… Kirito thought before his exhaustion caught up with him, and he dozed off.
"Oi, Kirito, wake up!" a voice called, shaking his shoulder.
His eyes fluttered open, and he found Minato crouching beside him, looking concerned.
"If you keep sleeping on the ground like this, you'll catch a cold," Minato chided. "It's already 5 PM, the sun's setting. Come on, let's head back."
Kirito groaned but slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Yeah, yeah… I'm getting up…"
As he stood, he stretched his sore arms and sighed. Tomorrow was another day, and there was still so much to do.
Kirito walked into the orphanage alongside Minato, chatting with him as they entered.
From their conversation, he discovered that Minato had only arrived in Konoha last year, just like in the original timeline. That meant Minato still had a long way to go before becoming the Fourth Hokage. Man, it's weird seeing future legends as kids… Kirito thought, shaking his head.
After dinner, Kirito decided to turn in early. It had been a long day, and his body still felt sore from all the kunai training. He yawned, stretched, and collapsed onto his bed around 7:30 PM.
He woke up around 4 in the morning then
A notification souneded.
[System Notification]
Slept in a bed - Full Body Recovery Achieved!
Kirito blinked at the glowing text hovering in front of him. "Huh? I didn't see this notification yesterday..."
Rubbing his chin, he mulled over the details. Maybe the recovery is tied to sleep duration? Or maybe it's something else entirely? Nine hours of sleep seems to fully restore me, but what's the lower limit?
Shrugging, he figured he'd test it later. For now, he had other things to do. He got up, stretched, and took a cold bath—nothing refreshing like an early morning jolt of cold water, especially in the summer. After getting dressed and lacing up his shoes, he noticed that the orphanage's doors had already been unlocked from the inside. The caretakers made sure to lock them at night to keep the kids from sneaking out, but by 5 AM, they were usually open.
Stepping outside, Kirito took a deep breath. The morning air was crisp, and the village was still quiet. Without wasting any time, he started running laps around the orphanage. The same track where he had acted in front of Danzo yesterday.
To his surprise, Minato was already running too, though he seemed to have started just a few minutes earlier. Kirito greeted him with a nod, and the two fell into an unspoken rhythm, running side by side.
By the second lap, Kirito was already huffing and puffing—for real this time, not just acting. His legs burned, his lungs screamed, but he refused to slow down. Instead of jogging, he kept pushing his speed. He had figured something out: *If I push my limits, I'll get free points! and running sould give stamina and agility *
So he gritted his teeth, clenched his fists, and kept running.
