Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Special Constitution?
Doctor's eyes showed a strange expression, so Junko Watanabe immediately answered.
"It was definitely last night. And he lost a lot of blood — he collapsed from the blood loss."
"His complexion isn't particularly healthy-looking, but there's no way he looks like someone who's suffered such massive blood loss. Even accounting for his being a ninja, there's no way he should be standing so steadily in front of me just hours later."
If what Junko said was true, Minato's clothes indeed bore numerous bloodstains. However, if all that blood were his own, it would be practically impossible for him to stand here so stably.
What's more...
The doctor didn't go on discussing with Junko Watanabe. Instead, he suddenly swung his palm toward the wound on Minato's left arm.
However, in the next moment, Junko stopped his hand.
"What are you doing?" Junko's expression turned slightly unpleasant.
But out of politeness, she hadn't used much force. The doctor didn't look at her, instead turning toward Minato.
"Did that hurt?"
Minato hesitated momentarily, then realized his left side had instinctively shifted slightly due to the sudden action from the doctor. Yet this time, the wound that had felt painful even with slight movement before now seemed completely painless.
"It actually doesn't hurt at all..." Minato himself said, quite surprised.
A hush fell over the room. Then the doctor finally looked at Junko and said, "Mind letting go now?"
Junko instinctively loosened her grip, watching Minato closely. Most people present were ninja, and they'd all noticed Minato's earlier appearance and that recent movement.
Such a significant motion, yet he appeared completely unbothered.
"Of course it wouldn't hurt. Pink new tissue has already grown over your wound. As long as you don't deliberately press on it, naturally it won't hurt."
As the doctor spoke, Junko approached Minato. She peered through the widened tear the doctor had made with scissors and saw pink new tissue covering Minato's wound. That deep injury exposing bone from last night was truly gone...
Her expression also became extremely peculiar. Activating her sensing ability once again, she discovered that the flow of chakra into the wound area within Minato's body had significantly decreased compared to before.
There wasn't a trace of anything wrong with his body anymore — the wound had fully healed.
"I've been a doctor for nearly twenty years now. If what you say is true — that he received a blade wound deep enough to expose bone — even if he is a ninja, recovering to his current condition in just one day would still be absolutely impossible."
"Not to mention you also claimed he suffered severe blood loss. But from last night until now, the human body simply couldn't replenish itself to this condition within such a short time. While I haven't performed any formal tests yet, based purely on his recent evasive movement alone, those injuries certainly couldn't have happened only last night."
The doctor went on. In cases of severe blood loss, visible physical indicators should be apparent upon examination. Yet from Minato's face, the doctor couldn't detect even the slightest signs of such symptoms.
His tone grew increasingly irritated, as he suspected Junko and the others were playing with him.
Yan Uchiha had also seen Minato's injuries from last night, yet his current appearance didn't seem to match someone who had suffered such a serious wound.
"So, can I fight now?" Minato asked eagerly.
"Out of caution, I need to run some tests first to determine your current physical condition," said the doctor.
"Follow me."
The doctor then led Minato out while Junko Watanabe and others stayed behind to wait.
All the while, an elderly woman wouldn't stop rambling at Yan Uchiha, bombarding him with endless questions. For someone as proud as himself, it was nearly unbearable. But they were in the Hidden Hot Spring Village, so he couldn't afford to lose his temper here.
For Yan Uchiha, those torturous twenty minutes finally passed when the doctor returned with Minato before everyone else.
Minato looked at the doctor hopefully, who then said, "Your body does show signs of recent major injuries. It would be best to avoid overly strenuous activity for the next few days. However, if what you say is true—that your recovery surpasses that of ordinary people—then within half a day, your wounds should begin scabbing over. At that point, fighting won't be an issue."
Even as he spoke, the doctor still struggled to believe Junko Watanabe's words, as they contradicted nearly two decades of medical experience.
"Yes, thank you very much."
Minato deeply bowed toward the doctor. Regarding his own physical condition, he had actually been paying attention for quite some time. Ever since about a year ago, his chakra recovered quickly, and his fatigue disappeared just as fast.
Truly, there was something different about his body...
Meanwhile, Sakumo had met face-to-face with the current leader of the Hidden Hot Spring Village.
He was a sharp-looking and strong young man, appearing about the same age as Sakumo.
His name was Fuu Akimoto. Though quite young, he had become the leader of the entire village—an equivalent of Konoha's Hokage. Sakumo could sense that Fuu Akimoto possessed considerable strength—though not quite on par with Ryo Yagura, the opponent he'd faced before.
In the Hidden Hot Spring Village's environment, achieving such a level by this age meant that given more time, he might lead the village toward even greater strength.
Still, that might not be good news—for instance, look at Hanzo of Amegakure and how the Rain Village has fared.
"Have you been able to pinpoint Sugayama Shinzou's exact location yet?"
Sakumo asked. The Hidden Hot Spring Village's intelligence network was strong. Since their enemy planned to launch an attack on them, gathering followers of the Cult of the Evil Deity meant protecting one's own trail under such chaotic circumstances would be nearly impossible.
Fuu Akimoto shook his head and replied, "But we just received a report. Recently in a nearby village, an adult male went missing. When villagers found him, he was already dead—with his left forearm completely severed."
Recalling this, Sakumo remembered clearly: last night during their fight, it was precisely Sugayama Shinzou's left forearm he had blown apart.
"It seems that guy really didn't die!"
"Sakumo's expression darkened. 'Do you mean to say he can actually transplant others' limbs onto himself and use them?'"
Fuu Akimoto shook his head. "All we know about the Immortal Body comes from rumors. No one's ever seen it for real. But based on what you've told us, that guy might already have some of its traits. At the very least, ordinary methods won't be able to kill him."
Sakumo slowly nodded, his eyes flickering with thought. "But...as long as he isn't truly immortal, the moment he steps into the Hidden Hot Spring Village, he won't be walking out alive..."
The killing intent in his calm gaze sent chills down Fuu Akimoto's and Oshima Reina's spines, making them feel uneasy inside the room.
Such overwhelming killing intent...
