Naruto: I Am The System

Chapter 103: The Next Cycle Begins

Because the situation involved a Reincarnator, Tsunade told Nawaki to return home while she visited Might Duy on her own.

Back at his house, Nawaki fell into thought.

"Maybe it's about time I let sis 'discover' that I'm a Reincarnator too?"

Otherwise, Tsunade would keep intentionally leaving him out of all the interesting developments. Sure, he could watch everything through the system, but spectating and actually participating were two completely different experiences.

If Nawaki wanted Tsunade to "accidentally" find out about his Reincarnator identity, it would be effortless.

They could bump into each other inside the Reincarnation Space, or he could casually pull out an item from another world in front of her—or even just 'happen' to cross paths during a mission.

"I'll wait for the next mission," he decided, mentally filing it away.

He opened the system panel again to check on how Tsunade's visit was going.

After Might Duy returned home, he hadn't even gotten a chance to use the Transponder Snail before a knock came at the door—Tsunade had arrived at the tiny apartment.

The moment he saw one of the Legendary Sannin herself at his doorstep, Might Duy and his wife were absolutely stunned.

This was none other than the Princess of the Hidden Leaf, a figure admired and revered by all!

Might Duy's wife hurriedly served the best food they had in the house. Tsunade, not one to stand on ceremony, happily sampled her cooking.

Then, to Duy's astonishment, she offered to give him some instruction in ninjutsu.

As the Leaf's most renowned medical ninja and a taijutsu expert in her own right, any guidance from Tsunade would greatly accelerate Duy's progress in developing the Eight Gates technique.

This was something money couldn't buy.

Later, Tsunade found an excuse to send Duy's wife away for a moment and leaned in to whisper mysteriously:

"Have you… ever visited another world?"

Watching from the system, Nawaki couldn't help but laugh.

"Why does this feel like she's trying to convert him into a gacha game player?"

Still, as the Leaf's Princess, Tsunade had certain natural advantages when it came to persuasion.

In just a few words, she had Might Duy teary-eyed and fired up, ready to sacrifice everything for Konoha's progress.

By the time A (the Fourth Raikage) contacted Might Duy through the children's Transponder Snail, Tsunade had already learned the truth—and returned home.

---

That night, under cover of darkness, a figure stood atop a tall building. Sharp eyes looked toward the horizon, where the last lights of the village were gradually going out. A slightly hoarse voice spoke:

"You're not going to kill them? They're Reincarnators from another village."

"There's no need."

Tsunade sat on the rooftop, gazing at the serpentine figure cloaked in the night—Orochimaru, who now seemed part snake, part winged shadow. A flicker of surprise appeared in her eyes.

This guy had been holed up in his lab for days, and yet his strength had grown again.

When she answered, Orochimaru bared a fang in interest.

"Oh?"

"Compared to the strange worlds we've seen in the mission," Tsunade said with a trace of melancholy, "the Shinobi World is so narrow… so weak."

"After completing the Ascension Mission and entering the Reincarnation Space, we saw proof that we're not the only Reincarnators in the multiverse. If others from more advanced worlds ever descend upon us with violence… how would we defend ourselves?"

"At that point, every Reincarnator in the Shinobi World becomes a crucial asset."

Orochimaru chuckled darkly.

"Rather than rely on Reincarnators, I'd rather elevate ordinary people's power."

His expression gleamed with fanaticism.

He already possessed the power of a vampire, and had begun developing vampires—undying soldiers—

To snatch life itself from the hands of Death.

Tsunade's eyes lit up.

Just like how the Sage of Six Paths once spread ninshū to teach the world chakra, she too could pass on knowledge and technologies she'd seen in other worlds.

By fusing it with local ninja tradition, she could create a powerful new profession system tailored to the Shinobi World—one capable of resisting future Reincarnator invasions.

"That's a brilliant idea," she nodded. "You're still more reliable than Jiraiya. By the way… have you used your Reincarnation Talisman from the Ascension Mission?"

"Not yet."

For Reincarnators, the greatest reward from the Ascension Mission wasn't points—it was the Reincarnation Talisman.

A premium item classified by the Lord God, which could not be exchanged for even with infinite points.

According to Nawaki's pre-set rules, these talismans could only be used to revisit previously explored worlds, where Reincarnators could stay for seven days without any mandatory main quest.

If they made a good plan, they could walk away with mountains of items or rare gear. Whether to keep or trade, it was a windfall either way.

That's why the Sannin had held off on using theirs so far.

Now that Tsunade brought it up, it was clear she had a plan in mind.

"After our next Reincarnator Mission," she said, "let's find Jiraiya, exchange some materials in the Reincarnation Space, and use the talismans together."

"No problem."

Orochimaru licked his fang and suddenly melted into the shadows.

"I'm off to dinner. Let's chat later."

---

Time flew by.

As another month arrived, the Second Great Shinobi War was finally drawing to a close.

Thanks to Konoha's overwhelming might, the Land of Fire emerged victorious once again, claiming the lion's share of benefits.

No one wanted to challenge the Leaf at this point.

In contrast, Sunagakure, which had fought Konoha most fiercely, had suffered grievous losses from their string of defeats. It would take decades to recover their former strength.

Once the conflict between the Lands of Earth and Lightning wrapped up, the Second Great Shinobi War would officially end.

In the meantime, Nawaki had spent most days lounging at home—or being dragged into gambling games by Tsunade. She never once won, but that didn't stop her from enjoying it.

Apparently, the First Hokage was also an avid gambler. Could this be a proud Senju family tradition?

---

On the first day of the new month, Nawaki finished his meal, idly fiddling with two jade-white dice.

"It's that time again. For this Reincarnator Mission… let's try a world-ending one."

He casually contemplated such terrifying words as if they were a simple choice.

He opened the teleportation menu, selected a name, chose a destination, and pressed the confirm button.

In the next instant—

Back at the old Uchiha clan grounds, a man clad in crimson armor sat cross-legged with his eyes half-closed.

Suddenly, the Lord God's voice echoed in his mind:

[Time's up. Reincarnator Mission begins.]
