Chapter 111: Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku [111]
"That's probably impossible."
Uchiha Fugaku shook his head, rejecting the speculation.
Though he did indeed yearn for the Shikotsumyaku to evolve into the All-Killing Ash Bones, rational analysis told him that even if he refined the corpses of the entire Kaguya clan, it would still be insufficient to cause that evolution.
His reasoning was based on the fact that, up to this point, the peak combat power of a single kekkei genkai was only at the Super Kage level—it could not touch the realm of the Six Paths.
This applied to both Uchiha Madara, who possessed the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and Senju Hashirama, who wielded the Wood Release kekkei genkai.
From these two, it was clear that even the most powerful single kekkei genkai could, at best, reach Super Kage-level strength. It could not transcend into the Six Paths tier.
"However, by refining all of the Kaguya clan's corpses, my Shikotsumyaku should be able to reach the extreme bloodline limits, on par with Madara and Hashirama."
"Even if it doesn't reach the Six Paths level, as long as I develop appropriate techniques, I should be able to wield Super Kage-level power!"
Fugaku exhaled a deep breath.
Logically speaking, the chance of Shikotsumyaku evolving into All-Killing Ash Bones—and reaching Six Paths-level combat power—just by refining the Kaguya clan's corpses, was extremely low.
However, pushing the Shikotsumyaku bloodline to its limit had a much greater likelihood of attaining Super Kage-level potential.
If he could create techniques that brought out the full power of the advanced Shikotsumyaku, he could achieve that level of strength.
And Super Kage-level power was already an overwhelming force.
So long as Madara wasn't resurrected, and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya or her clan didn't descend upon the world, he would be able to reign supreme in the shinobi world.
"Besides, it's not that Shikotsumyaku can't evolve into All-Killing Ash Bones."
A spark of heat flashed in Uchiha Fugaku's eyes.
He recalled how Madara awakened the Rinnegan by fusing with Hashirama's cells, and how the Hyūga's two branches—on Earth and the Moon—merged to produce the Tenseigan. These examples offered insight.
Simply fusing with Kaguya clan corpses wouldn't bring about the evolution, but that didn't mean there weren't other ways.
Among the kekkei genkai descended from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, there had to be one capable of catalyzing Shikotsumyaku's evolution into the All-Killing Ash Bones.
If he could find and refine that specific kekkei genkai, Shikotsumyaku would surely evolve.
"Fugaku, do you have a moment?"
Uchiha Mikoto called out with a smile as Fugaku exited his secret chamber.
"Nothing pressing. What is it?" Fugaku asked, a little puzzled.
"I was going to take little Sasuke to a nearby park. If you come along, I'm sure he'd be very happy," Mikoto said with a gentle smile.
"A park?"
Fugaku paused, remembering a previous conversation with Mikoto.
"You're not dragging me along to scout out a future daughter-in-law, are you?"
"Oh my, you saw right through me!"
Mikoto laughed playfully, overacting with mock surprise.
"Well, I've got time. No harm in going for a walk with you two."
Unable to hold back a chuckle, Fugaku agreed.
Before long, the Uchiha couple and their son Sasuke left the clan compound and made their way to the park.
Though called a park, it was really just an open space with some fitness and play equipment.
Many children from the neighborhood, including those around Sasuke's age, were playing there.
"Go ahead, have fun," Mikoto said with a gentle nudge.
Sasuke couldn't hide his excitement. After all, he was still a child—and what child didn't enjoy playing with others their age?
Yet he hesitated, casting a glance at Fugaku, unsure if he'd be reprimanded.
"It's fine. Go ahead," Fugaku said, smiling.
He had no reason to stop his son from playing in his free time.
With Fugaku's approval, Sasuke relaxed.
Trying to keep a cool expression, he walked over to the group of children.
"That boy… with that icy face, he's never going to make any friends," Fugaku said, shaking his head.
Sasuke had always been cold and aloof—except at home, he kept a stoic distance from others.
"You're wrong about that," Mikoto replied with a knowing smile.
"Sasuke is very popular around here—especially with the girls."
As if to prove her point, several children lit up with joy the moment they saw Sasuke and ran toward him.
"Sasuke! You're here!"
"Sasuke, your kunai-throwing form is so cool! Teach me!"
"Sasuke, let's play!"
The group included both boys and girls—but mostly girls.
"He's really that popular?" Fugaku was a little surprised.
"Of course. Sasuke's a star here," Mikoto said proudly, as if basking in the glow of her son's popularity.
She then lowered her voice and subtly gestured toward two girls near Sasuke: one with pink hair and one with blonde.
"The pink-haired one is Haruno Sakura. The blonde one is Yamanaka Ino. Among the girls, they're the prettiest…"
"Uh…"
Fugaku chuckled awkwardly, unsure how to respond.
The last time he gave his opinion, it nearly led to a crisis.
After watching Sasuke for a while, Mikoto's gaze wandered elsewhere in the park.
Suddenly, her eyes stopped—fixated on a corner of the park.
There, on a swing, sat a little boy around Sasuke's age.
He had spiky blond hair and whisker-like marks on his cheeks.
Alone, he quietly watched the other children laughing and playing together.
None of the kids came near him. If any passed by, they gave him a wide berth.
"Fugaku… that child…" Mikoto tugged at Fugaku's sleeve, as if confirming her suspicion.
"Yes… it's him," Fugaku said quietly, a complicated look in his eyes.
He had noticed the boy sitting alone on the swing the moment they arrived, but chose not to bring attention to it.
"Back when Kushina was pregnant with him…" Mikoto murmured sadly.
She had known Kushina, and they'd been on good terms.
After the tragedy, as Kushina's friend, she felt she should have looked after the boy.
But his identity was complicated, and with the Uchiha clan under constant scrutiny, she had chosen to keep her distance.
"If you're worried about how the Hokage might react, there's no need."
Fugaku shook his head, his voice soft and calm.
"Do what you want to do. Don't underestimate the Uchiha clan or me. We can handle that kind of pressure."
