Akaba and the others had a perfect view of the clone taking the Leader away.

"Good. I can't wait any longer—these lowlifes deserve to burn in hell."

Tsunade clenched her fist, grinding her teeth as she spoke.

It was these rogue ninja who had destroyed the happiness of the Land of Whirlpools.

Though not originally from the Land of Whirlpools herself, because of her connection with Mito Uzumaki, she felt their pain deeply.

Take it easy. We still need to wait."

Orochimaru wiped a kunai clean.

This was both a test and a slaughter—one they'd set for themselves.

Once the figures moved far enough away, Akaba gave the signal to move.

Instantly, Orochimaru and Tsunade took off toward the mountain.

"If you two are going ahead, then I'll cover your backs and pick off any leftovers."

Akaba sat in a hidden spot at the foot of the mountain, keeping watch over the area while channeling energy to restore his chakra reserves.

After using the Multiple Shadow Clones technique twice in succession, his chakra reserves were nearly drained. Joining them now would only slow things down.

Elsewhere,

The clone led the Leader away from the base, arriving at the riverside where the earlier battle occurred.

"You fought here?"

There were unmistakable signs of an Earth Release technique!

Doubt rose in his mind, but he made no move yet.

"Yes sir. That brat somehow became much stronger, even possessing a powerful toad summoning beast. My careless oversight allowed him to ambush me."

The clone replied shamefully.

"Careless oversight?"

The Jonin stepped on the puddle beneath his feet, quickly understanding how the ambush had happened.

"Worthless! You never care about real missions—all you know how to do is mess around like this!"

"Yes, sir, you're absolutely right."

Without a shred of pride left, the clone immediately accepted blame.

Since he had assumed this role, it was only appropriate he should bear this burden. After accepting fault, he pointed toward the direction of Uzumaki Village, adding, "He failed to kill me and instead was chased down by me. However, that's already within the borders of Uzumaki Village, so I didn't dare pursue further—it was only natural he managed to escape."

"Our strength isn't quite ready for entering Uzumaki Village directly."

Speaking of Uzumaki Village, even though he was a Jonin, the Leader couldn't hide the faint trace of fear appearing on his face.

Internally, the clone caught on to several important realizations about the Uzumaki Clan's talents which had given them countless headaches.

But now came the problem—without entering Uzumaki Village, how could their plans proceed?

Akaba quickly stood up and rushed uphill. Since the enemy had already attacked, it meant they'd discovered some clues. Who knew whether they might circle back? Staying longer meant increasing the danger.

After shouting the command, he listened carefully to locate sounds, immediately heading toward another direction where noises occurred.

Hearing that, Tsunade chased after that chunin opponent, delivering a full-power strike that instantly killed him, then preparing to find Orochimaru.

However, when they turned around, they noticed a shadow rapidly approaching from the foot of the mountain.

"No time! I'll handle this!"

Tsunade shouted, quickly running uphill until reaching above the cave.

One punch.

Boom!

A tremendous explosion rang out as the cave couldn't withstand the immense force, completely collapsing from the top down.

Another punch, and the entire cave collapsed.

"Retreat!"

After yelling loudly, Tsunade didn't look back, fleeing directly toward Uzumaki Village.

"You've got guts!"

Akaba felt surprised for a moment, then followed in the direction of Uzumaki Village.

Although he wasn't sure whether the Third secretly protected them, judging strictly from basic strength analysis, a jonin's combat capability was far beyond what they could resist.

Orochimaru heard the signal and immediately abandoned further confrontation, quickly retreating toward Uzumaki Village.

However,

"Three genin dare come here causing trouble and murder? Do you think my position as a jonin is just some title I earned through favoritism?"

A cold voice sounded, followed by thick fog spreading throughout the surroundings.

The Hiding in Mist jutsu covered the entire mountaintop!

Orochimaru's heart sank immediately. Realizing the situation was bad, he hurriedly retreated toward where Akaba and others were located.

"We must go back!"

At the same time, Akaba also sensed the gradually spreading mist. If they didn't return now, it would be gambling whether Hiruzen Sarutobi had any contingency plans.

Could they really gamble with their comrades' lives?

At least Akaba wouldn't feel right about it, nor would Tsunade.

"Their chakra is down to about one-tenth at most. Let's fight while retreating, draining their remaining chakra. If they chase us again, we'll take them down!"

"You're our most valuable asset. Wait for my signal—no unnecessary moves."

Akaba spoke calmly.

"I understand."

Tsunade's face darkened with tension.

Other than a few clans known for their physical frailty, most jonin had solid taijutsu abilities. Though her Strength of a Hundred Seal technique was powerful, she only had one effective strike against a jonin.
