Chapter 64: Sealing Techniques
Kushina stood up at the sound, stretching lazily.
Since becoming the Nine-Tails' Jinchuriki, this was the first time she had felt so relaxed, her body refreshed and her mind clear!
Kushina felt as though her thoughts had become sharper, and every breath brought a sense of vitality, as if she was embracing life itself.
Even seeing Shimizu now felt much more pleasant compared to their first meeting!
"It's getting late; I should head back."
Kushina's room had many windows, and Shimizu turned his head slightly to see the sun already setting.
"You've helped a lot. Next time, let me treat you to ramen!"
Kushina said cheerfully, feeling completely at ease.
Yet, for some reason, there was a faint dryness in her mouth and throat.
The two went downstairs together, and Kushina went to the living room to pour herself a glass of water.
"Am I sweating this much?"
She glanced down at the damp spots on her clothing, deciding to take a bath and change into fresh undergarments later.
"If you ever need help again, feel free to find me."
With those parting words, Shimizu left Kushina's residence.
Before departing, he gave Kushina a meaningful glance, then walked away.
Shimizu's talent in medical ninjutsu had enabled him to make rapid progress in the field.
The massage techniques documented in the Konoha Hospital archives had been thoroughly studied by him, allowing him to develop a minor jutsu.
This C-rank technique, named the Chakra Finger Massage Method, was simple in its function: it brought physical and mental relaxation to the recipient.
However, when paired with Shimizu's highly active medical chakra, the technique caused the recipient's body to gradually adapt to his chakra signature.
Over time, Kushina's body would become attuned to Shimizu's chakra.
On others, this adaptation might only lead to increased fondness, nothing more.
But with Kushina, it was a different story entirely.
The Uzumaki Clan's vitality was several times greater than that of ordinary people, and so were their energy levels and hormone production.
Those with such boundless energy often displayed inexplicable enthusiasm, impulsiveness, restlessness, and an inability to sit idle.
An excess of certain hormones could even influence... their desires.
At present, Kushina was like an unopened Pandora's box. If Shimizu deliberately guided her, it would ignite an uncontrollable flame within her.
She and Minato Namikaze had yet to cross that line, something Shimizu could discern from the way she walked.
"The Uzumaki Clan's sealing techniques... I can't wait to get my hands on them."
The sun hung low, its light bathing the earth in golden hues as dusk deepened.
Shimizu walked alone through the streets, his shadow stretching under the evening glow, contorting like a devil spreading its claws.
Clang!
Two short blades clashed, sparks flying.
Kakashi stepped back several paces, channeling chakra to his feet to disperse the impact force.
"Shimizu, have you been training in some kind of taijutsu?"
Kakashi's right hand trembled slightly as he gripped his blade tighter to suppress the shaking.
He was stunned.
Every time he sparred with Shimizu, he could feel his opponent's progress.
Most noticeably, Shimizu's expression grew increasingly composed, a sign of confidence and mastery.
"I've learned a little."
Standing before Kakashi was none other than Shimizu.
He twirled his blade gracefully, faint arcs of lightning flickering along its surface as white chakra flowed over it.
Shimizu had already mastered the Hatake Clan's swordsmanship.
The technique focused less on sword forms and more on enhancing physical abilities with chakra, specifically through the use of Lightning Release to activate certain cells, making the blade a deadly extension of the user's body.
The effectiveness of the technique depended entirely on the wielder's skill.
Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang, could use a single blade his entire life, while Kakashi had a tendency to break his swords in just a few strikes.
"You've completely mastered my swordsmanship, haven't you?"
Kakashi glanced at the chakra-infused short blade in Shimizu's hand.
He had long known that Shimizu was secretly learning his techniques.
Shimizu's moves had gradually become identical to his, as if his father had personally taught him.
Still, Kakashi didn't mind.
The Hatake Clan now had only him, and his talent in swordsmanship was relatively average.
Having someone to carry on the legacy was a good thing.
"Pretty much."
Shimizu nodded, pulling out a sealing scroll.
"This contains my insights into Lightning Release. It might help you develop that technique you're working on."
Kakashi caught the scroll Shimizu tossed his way, his mood lifting slightly.
The swordsmanship passed down by his father lacked annotations for integrating Lightning Release, offering only basic templates.
Everyone interpreted these templates differently, and Shimizu's insights were invaluable to Kakashi.
He looked earnestly at Shimizu.
"Thank you."
"You deserve it. Without your generosity, I wouldn't have gained so much."
Shimizu shook his head.
He was counting on Kakashi to develop the Chidori. The more knowledge he provided, the faster Kakashi's progress would be.
"Kakashi!"
At that moment, Obito, wearing his trademark orange goggles, leaped over the Hatake Clan's wall into the yard.
"Oh... Shimizu."
Obito hadn't expected to see Shimizu there.
He had been training hard in Fire Release recently and was eager to test his skills against Kakashi.
"You two talk."
Shimizu sheathed his short blade and disappeared with a few swift movements, leaving the Hatake residence.
He had already mastered the Hatake swordsmanship, so there was no reason to stay.
Once Kakashi learned the Chidori, he would return for another look.
"Ugh, that jerk left as soon as I arrived."
Obito felt slighted.
"What do you want?"
Kakashi carefully stored the sealing scroll and turned to Obito.
"A sparring match."
Obito grinned confidently.
Shimizu could leave if he wanted, but for now, Obito would test his Fire Release against Kakashi.
Someday, in front of Rin, he would defeat Shimizu and show her his strength.
"I'm busy."
Kakashi turned and walked back into the house to continue developing his technique.
Obito's presence would only get in the way.
