Naruto: Isekai Saiyajin

Chapter 6: Chest pain

Good morning people,

[-] In today's chapter, you'll see that I've determined the dynamics of Saruhiko's team.

Saruhiko: Cheerful and confident, but stuck up and arrogant.

Yagi: Calm and with well-developed social skills, but fearful and insecure about his abilities.

Karin: Always alert and serious, but distant and still keeps secrets.

[-] Thinking about it... the group dynamics remind me of the three Sanins as children in the flashbacks, or would you compare the three to another group?

COMMENTS:

[-]HellTeddy(questionablequesting):

Thank you for the chappy!

Is that Uzumaki Karin?

Isn't she and her mother supposed to be in Grass.

[-]Renan:

Yes, it's Karin, and according to the official lore (correct me if I'm wrong on the comments):

Karin and her mother went to the Grass Village when Karin was already born and a few years old.

I'm extrapolating Saruhiko's actions on the day of the Kyubi's attack. Konoha wasn't as devastated as in the original story, so it's an even greater shinobi militar power than at the beginning of the series. Maybe this affected Karin's mother's decision about where to go…

[-]Theleverofnomer(Fanfiction):

it would be funny to see anko mess with the mc since I think both her and kurinai are friends with kibas sister. plus it would be cool to see how she trains him.

[-]Renan:

I had forgotten that the three of them were friends, thanks for the comment, it gave me a lot of ideas.

(#)Now… let's go to the story!(#)

In the middle of the night, when the fire is put out and the predators come out to hunt.

Saruhiko snores with a goofy smile on his face. Karin, curled up on the side, mumbles something unintelligible in her sleep.

Yagi, sitting alone with a kunai in his hand, eyes wide, scans the darkness, muttering a mantra to stay focused.

"I can do it, I can do it, I can do it..." His voice is a barely audible whisper.

The forest, alive, seems to breathe. Leaves rustle, branches snap. Every sound, an alert. Yagi grips the handle of his kunai, the cold metal contrasting with his sweaty palm.

The young pale ninja had never been so anxious in his entire life. His heart beat faster, and his stomach twisted. Yagi didn't know if all this was due to nervousness, being in such a dangerous place, or because it was his first mission with the new team.

"Just keep watch, Yagi. You trained for this…" He nodded to himself, eyes fixed on the darkness. "I'm sure Mitarashi-Sensei wouldn't let you get hurt."

A howl in the distance cuts through the silence, and Yagi shudders.

"C-c-calm down, Yagi, it was just a wolf. Saruhiko and Karin need you." He concludes, swallowing hard.

The wind blows, bringing the smell of wet earth and something else... something wild. Yagi stands up, senses on high alert.

"What is that?" This time, his voice was firmer.

He takes a step forward, body tense, ready for anything the night may bring.

"I can do it." Now he speaks as a promise. "I just need to calm down, it's not like something is going to attack us out of nowhere-."

"JUMP!" Karin suddenly shouts, quickly getting up and jumping to a tree.

Saruhiko also gets up fully equipped and jumps to another tree.

In turn, Yagi blinks in confusion, but acts like his peers and jumps towards the same tree where Saruhiko was.

The ground beneath the camp explodes upward. Earth and rocks fly in all directions. A monstrous body, covered in brown scales, emerges from the earth. A giant serpent, its yellow eyes glowing in the darkness.

Yagi, still in mid-air, freezes. The scream of terror that threatened to come out dies in his throat, replaced by a sigh of terror. The wide eyes reflect the serpent's sinister glow.

"What is that?!" His voice came out as a hoarse, barely audible whisper.

Karin, already positioned high up in a tree, looks down, frightened by the sight of the giant creature.

"It can't be..." The words come out in a rush.

Saruhiko, next to her, grips the handle of his kunai so hard that it almost bleeds through his palms.

"Stay calm." His voice is firm, but Karin notices his hand shaking slightly.

The snake raises its head, hissing. The sound echoes through the forest as a warning of what is to come. Yagi, still paralyzed, feels his heart beating harder in his chest.

"Saruhiko… I-I…" His voice filled with dread.

"Relax, Wonder Bread." Saruhiko says, dropping the weights from his legs. Two small craters open up when they hit the ground. "I'm going to tank this snake. Yagi, cover me with your paintings. Karin, if you see an opening, poke its eyes out."

His allies try to give feedback to his plan.

"How do you know-."

"I don't know if-."

But they weree interrupted by the black-haired Uzumaki.

"PORRADA!" shouted Saruhiko, charging towards the creature.

The monkey-tailed ninja shoots like a black missile. The giant serpent barely notices its opponent passing by its side. When turning around, the creature feels a small gash on its scale. Blood flew, and the monster hisses furiously.

"SSSSSSSYAAAA!"

The serpent writhes, the pain of the fresh cut on its scales fueling its rage. Karin, taking advantage of the distraction, threw shurikens at the enemy. The blades cut through the air, grazing the creature's eyebrow, dangerously close to its eyes.

The reptile's yellow eyes lock onto Karin, recognizing her as a threat. The massive body begins to move, the earth shaking beneath its weight.

The serpent advances, its mouth open, revealing teeth as sharp as daggers.

"Karin, be careful!" Yagi screams, his voice thick with panic.

Before the serpent can reach Karin, Saruhiko once again passes by in a blur.

"SUPRISE!" shouts Saruhiko, catching the monster's attention and wounding it once again.

Another, deeper cut opens in the snake's scales. Blood gushes, the creature recoils, hissing in pain and frustration.

"You're not going to catch anyone today, you turd-colored snake!" Saruhiko exclaims, smiling defiantly at the animal.

The snake, now more cautious, turns its attention to Saruhiko. The yellow eyes shine with a cold intelligence, calculating the next move. Saruhiko, ready for confrontation, maintains a firm stance, kunai raised.

"Send some drawings, you pale otaku." Saruhiko complains without taking his eyes off the snake.

"Pale otaku?" Questions Yagi, pointing at himself.

"WHO ELSE?" Saruhiko shouts, jumping away from the snake that tries to tackle him.

Yagi sits on the tree branch, hands shaking slightly as he picks up a roll of parchment and a brush. The eyes, once wide with fear, now narrow in concentration. The tip of the brush touches the parchment, and Yagi begins to draw. Fast, precise lines take shape quickly.

The serpent's massive body moves with surprising agility, its tail whipping through the air. Alert to the creature's movements, Saruhiko dodges the attack, which hits a rock he was standing on, splitting it in half.

"Fuck, fuck." Saruhiko murmurs, his eyes fixed on the snake. "This thing is too smart to be an ordinary animal."

The serpent strikes again, its tail cutting through the air like a blade. Saruhiko jumps, but the tip of the tail grazes his arm, leaving a shallow cut. He grits his teeth, the pain sharpening his senses.

"That's not normal." Murmurs Saruhiko, mind working fast. "This intelligence... is from a summoned animal."

The snake, upon hearing Saruhiko's words, stops abruptly. The yellow eyes narrow, and a strange sound, almost a laugh, escapes the reptile's throat. The scaled lips curl, revealing sharp teeth in a grotesque smile.

"Oh fuck!" Saruhiko exclaims, worried. "It understands me."

The snake, taking advantage of Saruhiko's distraction, attacks with a powerful strike with its tail. The air whistles with the rapid, lethal movement. Saruhiko, realizing the attack too late, tries to jump back, but the creature's tail grazes him. The impact, even mild, is enough to launch him into the air.

"Shit!" Saruhiko whines, pain exploding through his body.

He is tossed around like a rag doll. His body collides against the trunk of a tree with a dull thud, making the reincarnated man expel all the air he had in his body.

The serpent, satisfied, hisses triumphantly. She approaches the motionless Uzumaki, the snake tail still whipping the air, ready for the next attack.

"Ninpo." A voice murmurs from the top of the trees. "Juu Giga."

Pigeons emerge from the parchment in a frantic flapping of wings. White feathers contrast with the darkness of the night, an almost ethereal vision. The flight heads towards the serpent, each bird a small projectile of distraction. The snake, surprised, retreats. The yellow eyes blink, confused, as the birds surround her, pecking at her scales.

The creatures do no harm to the giant monster, but they are the perfect distraction. Karin, still positioned in the tree, sees the opportunity and throws more shurikens. One of them hits the target, sinking deep into the snake's left eye.

The creature lets out an agonizing hiss, its massive body writhing in pain. The injured eye spurts blood, its vision on that side compromised. The serpent struggles, its tail whipping wildly, knocking down trees and throwing dirt everywhere.

A smile of relief spreads across Yagi's face as he watches the scene.

"I did it," he whispers to himself, pride evident in his voice. "I was able to help my team," he concludes, standing up excitedly.

At that moment, the parchment slips from his lap, falling towards the forest floor.

"Oh no," Yagi murmurs.

Without thinking twice, the pale ninja jumps from the tree, his eyes fixed on the spiraling roll. The wind whistles in his ears as he descends, his mind focused solely on retrieving the precious item.

His feet hit the ground with a thud. He extends his hand, fingers brushing the parchment at the exact moment the serpent, still enraged, notices his presence. The creature, with one eye blind and the other full of hatred, charges. Its huge mouth opens, revealing rows of sharp teeth.

Yagi freezes, terror paralyzing his muscles. His wide eyes reflect the approaching monstrous figure. Time appears to slow down as the snake advances with its mouth open. He closes his eyes, breath caught in his chest, waiting for the inevitable impact.

But the impact doesn't come.

Instead, he feels an extra presence in front of him. Opening his eyes, Yagi sees Saruhiko, wielding two kunai, holding the serpent's mouth open. The blades press into the roof of the creature's mouth, preventing it from closing its deadly teeth.

"You..." Saruhiko says, his voice firm despite the effort and pain still lingering from the previous attack. "You need to be more careful, you pale otaku."

The serpent hisses, pain and frustration evident in its movements. Saruhiko, with a determined look, maintains his position, his kunai firm against the soft flesh of the creature's mouth.

Unnoticed by the humans, the creature's tail moves silintely. Once it reaches the mouth, it wraps around Saruhiko's body, trapping the black-haired Uzumaki.

"I'm boned," Saruhiko complains, realizing the danger too late.

The serpent tightens, the rough scales cutting into Saruhiko's skin, removing the shinobi from its mouth. He grits his teeth, pain exploding through his body. The kunai trembles in his hand, the serpent's strength threatening to overwhelm him, making his muscles burn and bones creak.

"Saruhiko!" Karin screams, her eyes wide with panic.

She descends from the tree, landing next to Yagi.

"He won't last long. We need to help!" Karin says urgently. "Make more birds, quick!"

Yagi, still paralyzed by fear, looks at Karin, then at Saruhiko. The snake tightens its grip, Saruhiko's body beginning to give under the pressure.

"I... I can't," Yagi murmurs, his voice trembling. "I'll only make things worse."

Karin grabs Yagi by the collar, pulling him closer.

"So Saruhiko saved you for nothing?" she asks angrily. "He put his life on the line for you. The least you can do is not give up."

Karin's words echo in Yagi's mind. He looks at Saruhiko, his friend's face contorted in pain, but still, he struggles to escape the grip.

Yagi swallows hard, pushing away the fear and nervousness that overwhelmed him. He takes a deep breath, channeling more chakra than he has ever dared before. Power flows through him, igniting every cell in his body.

With steady hands, Yagi picks up the brush and parchment. His eyes, once trembling, now shine with renewed determination. He begins to draw, each stroke charged with intention and power.

Saruhiko, still trapped in the serpent's tail, feels the pressure increase. The pain is unbearable, but he refuses to give in.

"You snake son of a bitch," he mumbles weakly, fury burning in his voice. "I'll turn you into a pair of ugly, shit-colored boots."

As if responding to the insult, the serpent tightens its grip. But Saruhiko refuses to give up and fights against the crushing pressure with all the strength he has left.

"Ninpo," Yagi mutters, focusing on the monster attacking his ally. "Choujuu Giga."

An eagle begins to emerge from the parchment, its powerful wings beating the air. With a piercing cry, the eagle charges, sharp talons extended.

The snake, distracted by its victim, fails to notice the new threat. Quickly, the eagle's sharp claws dig into the creature's remaining eye, tearing it out with one precise movement. The serpent lets out an agonizing hiss, its massive body writhing in pain.

Now blind, the serpent thrashes in agony, its tail whipping wildly. Saruhiko, still trapped by the creature, feels the pressure lessen. With one last effort, he puts all his strength into his arms and legs, trying to break free.

"Let me go, you poop snake!" Saruhiko shouts, his voice hoarse from pain and effort.

The snake, weakened and blind, can no longer maintain its grip and releases him. Saruhiko falls in free fall, his body bruised and powerless to move.

Karin notices Saruhiko's descent. Quickly she jumps, intercepting him mid-fall. Her arms wrap around him carefully, and as they land, she manages to cushion the impact and set him down gently.

"Saruhiko-kun," Karin murmurs worriedly. "Are you okay?"

The reincarnated ninja responds by coughing up blood. Despite agonizing in pain, he manages a weak smile.

"If I die a virgin, I swear I'll come back to haunt you," he says, his voice hoarse but laced with humor.

Karin, still holding him carefully, lets out a tired laugh. With a smooth movement, she pulls up the sleeve of his shirt, revealing an arm full of bite marks.

"Don't worry about it now," she says firmly. "Bite here and pull my chakra. You need to heal."

With Karin's offer, Saruhiko finally realizes who she is.

'She's that redhead with glasses... with Uzumaki blood,' Saruhiko thinks, his eyes widening.

With no time to question his ally's identity further, Saruhiko bites her.

"Aaarg," Karin moans at the sudden bite.

"He-he," Saruhiko chuckles at her reaction.

"Shut up, monkey boy!" the redhead snaps.

Meanwhile, Yagi, exhausted but determined, focuses on his eagle's defensive maneuvers. His hands shake slightly, but he doesn't give up. Chakra flows through him, keeping the ink construct in the air.

The serpent, blind but not defeated, senses the eagle. The massive body contracts, preparing for an attack. Then, the creature lunges forward, snapping its jaws shut. The ink construct bursts as the reptile closes its mouth, spraying ink everywhere.

"Dammit!" Yagi cries, tears of frustration forming. "I'm really useless after all."

"Oh, stop whining!" a mocking voice complains. "You pale otaku."

Recognizing the insult, Yagi turns toward Saruhiko, who stands with an electric aura crackling around him. Saruhiko's eyes glow with a strange energy as he holds two fingers wrapped in copper wire to his forehead. Between them, a shiny gray coin rests.

"But what...?" Yagi murmurs, his voice shaking with surprise. "You can use Raiton too?"

Saruhiko grins confidently at the blind snake.

"Let's fucking go!" he Exclaimns, concentrating even more electricity into the coin.

The pain in Saruhiko's body disappeared thanks to Karin. The healing was fast and effective, but what really surprises the black-haired Uzumaki is the feeling of power that invades his body.

Standing next to the monkey-tailed ninja, Karin notices with exact details of the change. Her eyes widened, the surprise evident on her face. She has never seen anything like it.

"It's like..." Karin murmurs in disbelief. "After recovering from a near-death, he became much more powerful."

"Raiton!" Saruhiko exclaims as he finishes charging to shoot. "Makankosappo."

With a quick movement, he fires the coin as if it were ammunition from an electromagnetic cannon, similar to a railgun. Blue electricity, surrounding the projectile, distorts in the direction of the enemy, leaving a trail of spiraling energy.

The impact hits the snake like explosion. The sound of thunder resounds, echoing through the trees and making the ground tremble. The coin pierces the base of the serpent's throat, tearing out a huge chunk.

Instead of the creature falling dead, it disappears in a burst of smoke, like a shadow clone being undone.

"SON OF A BITCH!" Saruhiko shouts, furious. "I KNEW IT WAS A FUCKING SUMMON!"

Saruhiko, still enveloped in the electric aura, breathes a sigh of relief. His face, previously marked by pain and effort, now expresses a dark satisfaction. He takes a deep breath, his body still pulsing with chakra energy.

"You..." Yagi begins, his voice trembling. "You did it."

Saruhiko looks at Yagi, a tired smile on his face.

"We did it," he replies, breathing heavily. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need a nap." The reincarnated man concludes, falling face down on the forest floor.

N:IS

Saruhiko wakes up with a sudden jolt. His blurry vision gradually clears, revealing the face of Mitarashi Anko, his sensei, very close to his. The ninja's purple hair is disheveled, her bangs falling over her violet eyes, which stares at him with a mix of concern and pride.

"This is my favorite part of the dream," Saruhiko says, pouting, waiting for a kiss.

A vein pops out on Anko's forehead, but despite the fury boiling in her blood, the sensei smiles before talking to her student.

"Mine too."

With a closed fist, she punches him on the head.

"Ouch," Saruhiko complains, sitting up.

He blinks, disoriented, and as he looks around, he realizes he's still in the camp. Yagi laughs awkwardly, while Karin glares at him furiously.

Saruhiko rubs his head, still feeling the pain from Anko's punch. She stands up, adjusting her sleeveless top and shorts, before giving the group a serious look.

"So, I think I should apologize for that snake..." Anko begins, embarrassed, avoiding eye contact while scratching her head. "It was just supposed to scare you, not attack."

Karin adjusts her glasses before questioning her sensei.

"Scare?" The red-haired girl retorts, sarcasm dripping from her voice. "That thing almost killed us!"

Yagi, ever the peacemaker, intervenes with a friendly smile.

"Let's let Anko-sensei explain herself first," he suggests in a calm voice.

Anko sighs, running her hand through her messy bun.

"I wanted to test you, see how you'd react under pressure. That snake is my summon. Normally, I maintain control over it, but sometimes it can be a little... unpredictable."

Saruhiko raises an eyebrow, still rubbing his head.

"Wow! Imature and Irresponsible," the monkey-tailed ninja mutters ironicly, grimming at his sensei.

Once again the vein pops out on Anko's forehead again as she threatens to hit him once more.

"It's not my fault a certain monkey over there made the snake mad by cutting her," Anko explains.

"Oh yeah?" Saruhiko shoots back sarcastically. "So it's my fault for defending myself against a giant snake in the most dangerous forest in the Fire Nation?"

Anko steps back, cornered by his argument.

"Fuck!" the veteran ninja mutters. "You're smarter than you look."

"I'm not just a pretty face," Saruhiko responds, smiling victoriously. Karin stares at him in disbelief at his comment.

Trying to avoid further complaints, Anko changes the subject.

"Anyway, congratulations on passing my test," she says, giving the group a thumbs-up.

"Shouldn't we spend the whole night in the forest?" Yagi asks. "It's still night."

"SHUT UP!" Karin and Saruhiko shout in unison.

Anko leads the way through the dense forest, her boots crunching dry leaves and twigs. Behind her, the group follows in silence, still processing the night's events.

"You know, something I still don't understand... how did you react so quickly to my summon's attack?" Anko asks, her voice cutting through the silence. She doesn't look back, but her ears are open for answers.

Karin, her glasses reflecting the moonlight, responds first.

"I couldn't sleep. So I was very alert when the monster entered the range of my senses."

"Now that you mention it, I feel wide awake too," Yagi adds. "I thought it was because of nervs, but I also feel weird pain in my stomach and discomfort in my chest."

Saruhiko lets out an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his head as he walks behind Anko.

"Well, actually, I... um... I might have put some caffeine pills in the soup I made for you."

The group stops abruptly. Karin, eyes wide, spins around to face Saruhiko. Her expression is a mix of shock and fury as she grabs him by the collar of his shirt.

"You did what?" she growls angrily.

Yagi, meanwhile, looks more confused than anything else.

"Caffeine pills? Why would you do that, Saruhiko-san?"

Saruhiko raises his hands defensively, trying to defuse the situation.

"Hey, hey, calm down! I just wanted to make sure everyone was awake and alert. We couldn't afford to let our guard down, right? And it's just one night without sleep."

Anko nods in agreement with his reasoning, while Yagi seems pleased that he passed the test thanks to his teammate.

Karin, however, tightens her grip on Saruhiko's collar, choking him.

"You poisoned us without warning, you moron!"

Still weak from having used all his chakra in the fight, Saruhiko can't break free and begins turning red from lack of air.

"Karin, stop! I... nobody... got hurt..."

The commotion between Saruhiko and Karin is interrupted by a low groan. Yagi, cold sweat dripping down his forehead, staggers toward them, struggling to stay upright.

"Guys..." His voice is a hoarse whisper, barely audible. All eyes turn to him, the fight forgotten. "M-My chest... it's... crushing me..." he gasps, his voice strained.

Yagi's left arm hangs limp, an unbearable numbness spreading through it.

Anko's eyes widen immediately as she realizes the gravity of the situation. She curses under her breath but acts quickly. In one fluid motion, she grabs Yagi, supporting him before he collapses.

"I need to take him to the hospital," Anko says, lifting Yagi into her arms. "Go back to your homes," she orders, disappearing in a flash using Shunshin.

Karin turns back to Saruhiko, even angrier now that her teammate's life was put at risk.

"Relax, he'll survive," Saruhiko says with his voice shaking with zero confidence.

From a distance, Anko's voice echoes.

"You will be punished for this, monkey boy."

"…Shit," Saruhiko grumbles, as Karin bursts into laughter at his expense.
