Naruto: Konoha’s Trickster, Starting as the Seven-Tails Jinchūriki

Chapter 458: Kakashi Backstabs His Own Dad

At the dinner table, Terumi and Kakashi were still locked in a stare.

Kazuyama and Ichikishimahime were eating while casually watching the scene unfold—especially Kazuyama, who was clearly enjoying the show.

Back in his previous life, he'd always thought Kakashi and Terumi would make a good couple. Tsk, this time, no matter what, he was going to make it happen.

Now that both were his students, what could be better than a teacher helping his disciples with their love lives?

"What's your name?"

"How long have you been training?"

Kazuyama and Ichikishimahime nearly spat out their drinks at the same time. These two were clearly on completely different wavelengths.

Even Terumi and Kakashi were caught off guard—they hadn't expected to speak in unison.

It was awkward—at least in Kazuyama's eyes.

But maybe he was overthinking it.

"My name's Terumi."

"Wanna arm wrestle?"

Kazuyama: ...

Ichikishimahime: ...

The two locked eyes and immediately saw the same stunned look in each other's expressions.

Then they turned to Kakashi—especially Kazuyama, who was genuinely floored.

This kid really was a blockhead. No wonder he ended up single and brooding in the original timeline!

If he had even a shred of emotional intelligence...

Terumi snapped out of it slightly. Hearing Kakashi's challenge, she was a little embarrassed, but to break the awkwardness—and to learn more about him—she responded anyway.

"Sure, let's go. But I'm telling you now, I'm strong."

Kakashi had fully expected to get rejected. After all, he'd caught the look from his teacher and the Snake Princess.

If they weren't sitting at a dinner table, he wouldn't have been surprised if his sensei had gone for a very "intimate" form of teacher-student correction.

"It's fine. If you're not into it, forget it."

"I just figured a little movement after a meal would be good."

Kazuyama twitched at the explanation.

This Kakashi—sharp mind, zero emotional awareness. The guy didn't even know what emotional intelligence was.

"I can't take this anymore. Boss, check please!"

"Ichikishimahime, they're your problem now."

"I'll be back in a month!"

Kazuyama was so embarrassed he nearly bolted on the spot.

To keep himself from smacking Kakashi upside the head, he had no choice but to retreat—leaving the care of the not-so-little duo to Ichikishimahime.

"Why me?"

"I recommend Tagorihime. She'd be a better fit for this situation!"

Hearing Kazuyama's words, Ichikishimahime almost turned to stone. If not for her centuries of cultivation and rock-solid composure, she might've exploded on the spot.

Even so, she was mentally screaming.

She even tried to pass the job to Tagorihime.

But Kazuyama ignored her. He had his reasons.

Ichikishimahime practiced an absorption-based Senjutsu. She could drain chakra directly from others using her own abilities.

And once her target's chakra was depleted, even their physical body wouldn't be able to resist her Senjutsu extraction.

Terumi's training right now focused mainly on her physical condition. With Ichikishimahime assisting from the sidelines, her progress would accelerate dramatically.

Same went for Kakashi.

Which was exactly why Kazuyama wasn't letting her off the hook.

"Your abilities are better suited to training the two of them."

"Here, this is the living allowance I'm leaving you. Don't be too hard on yourselves—eat well, drink plenty, and train hard!"

Kazuyama shoved all of Terumi's savings—over a hundred thousand ryo—into Ichikishimahime's hands, then vanished with the Flying Thunder God Technique.

...

"Where the hell did you take my son?"

"You could've at least told me!"

The moment he landed, an irritated voice rang out from behind him.

It was Sakumo Hatake, just getting off work from the Ninja Academy.

He had just walked through the door only to find Kakashi gone. All that was left was a note:

"Father, I'm going with Sensei for special training. From now on, make your own meals and buy your own sake.

When I return, I'll challenge you. I hope your sword hasn't rusted.

Signed: Your future challenger, Kakashi Hatake."

When Sakumo read it, he nearly burst out laughing.

Not because it was funny—because he was that furious.

His brat had finally grown up enough to challenge his own dad with a sword.

Make his own meals? Buy his own booze?

Couldn't the kid just eat out?

Had he already forgotten who raised him—who spoon-fed him through thick and thin?

And the one behind all this? Hmph, Kazuyama!

"Oh? You're back, old man."

"I just sent him to a place that's perfect for training. Relax, I've taken care of everything."

"When he gets back, he'll be a lot stronger."

Sakumo crossed his arms, glaring with clear dissatisfaction.

"Easy for you to say. Is that place even safe? If my son so much as loses a hair, I'm coming for you."

"And what about my dinner? You sent my boy away—who's going to cook for me?"

"Huh? I'm a poor, pitiful retiree living off a measly pension, and you sent off my precious son?"

Kazuyama stared at Sakumo's shameless face, full of confusion.

This didn't make sense. He'd sent Kakashi off to train—that was a good thing. Why was Sakumo so full of complaints?

His sharp eyes scanned the surroundings. Soon, he noticed a piece of paper clutched in Sakumo's hand.

Based on his experience, that paper had to be the key.

"Sakumo-senpai, don't tell me you don't trust me. The place is not only safe, there's even a personal guide to train him."

"Hey hey hey—Kakashi? You're back already?!"

Kazuyama suddenly shouted, pointing behind Sakumo.

Without thinking, Sakumo turned to look.

In that instant, the letter vanished from his hand.

"You little punk! You tricked me!"

"Hmph! Whatever, you've seen it now!"

"Just give me an answer when you're done reading it!"

Kazuyama glanced at him and quickly scanned the note.

Once he finished, everything made sense—why Sakumo was acting like this.

Oh, Kakashi. Nicely done!

Where did you get the guts to talk to your old man like that?

[Ding! Due to the host's intervention, Kakashi has entered his rebellious phase early, significantly impacting Sakumo Hatake!]

[This development is classified as successful host education, having pushed Kakashi down an irreversible path—excellent work!]

[Ding! Special reward: ...]
