At first, there were only doubts questioning Sakumo's decision, but these gradually escalated into outright condemnation.

Public opinion held that Sakumo was entirely to blame for the outcome.

The Konoha leadership had already stripped Sakumo Hatake of all his titles. The interim leadership of the Land of Grass is now held by Nara Shinei.
