Naruto: Kushina's Redemption, My Revenge

Chapter 110: Chapter 110 – Return to the Land of Grass

Chinya had no blood brothers to help him awaken the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, nor did he plan to implant Hashirama Senju's cells to avoid blindness.

The reason Hashirama Senju's cells were able to mitigate, not eliminate, the side effects of the Mangekyo Sharingan wasn't because of Wood Release, but due to Hashirama's monstrous physical constitution.

Hashirama's body overflowed with vitality; wounds healed automatically without hand seals.

Madara Uchiha once said, "On the battlefield, no one can kill Hashirama."

Hashirama's physical form was that of a Sage.

Even if Chinya awakened Wood Release as a Kekkei Genkai, he wouldn't evolve into a Sage Body.

It seemed only Hashirama Senju possessed such a Sage Body.

Therefore, for now, there was nothing Chinya could do to immediately eliminate the side effects of his Mangekyo Sharingan.

But this wasn't something Chinya needed to worry about right now.

After all, he'd just awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan. His vision remained excellent, and there was no immediate concern.

At present, dealing with Kushina Uzumaki's situation was still the top priority.

Once Kushina's situation was resolved, Chinya would have plenty of time to handle these smaller issues.

Besides, with enough Witness Points, these problems could all be easily resolved.

[Mangekyo Sharingan — Revert to Normal State]

Chinya left Orochimaru's base after reverting his Mangekyo Sharingan back to its normal state.

After awakening the Mangekyo Sharingan, his mood had greatly improved.

He returned home carrying a bowl of salty ramen—Kushina's favorite—and grilled mackerel along with some eggplant miso soup, which Kakashi loved.

The next day,

Chinya went to the Hokage Tower and met with Hiruzen Sarutobi, informing him that both he and Kakashi planned to head to the Land of Grass for support today.

Hiruzen agreed immediately—he had always hoped Chinya would go to the Land of Grass as soon as possible.

Seeing Kakashi stepping forward also pleased him, since Kakashi's growth benefited Konoha.

After packing their belongings, Chinya and Kakashi arrived at Konoha's main gate.

Kushina Uzumaki gently warned Kakashi, "When danger comes, leave it to your teacher. Don't act recklessly. And make sure you eat well so you can keep growing healthy and strong."

Under his mask, Kakashi pressed his lips together tightly.

Still grieving his father's death, Kakashi felt deeply moved by Kushina's concern.

"Yes, ma'am. While I'm away in the Land of Grass with Teacher Chinya, please take good care of yourself too."

Kushina smiled and ruffled Kakashi's hair.

Then she walked up to Chinya and simply said five words: "I'll wait for you."

Smiling, Chinya responded, "Wait for me."

Together once again, Chinya and Kakashi set off toward the Land of Grass.

...

Several days later, Chinya and Kakashi returned to Konoha's base in the Land of Grass.

Faced with those who had once been under Sakumo Hatake's command, Kakashi exuded an aura that kept others at a distance.

Chinya brought Kakashi to meet Jiraiya.

This time, Jiraiya had come alone to the Land of Grass—Minato Namikaze wasn't with him.

"Jiraiya-sama," Chinya greeted, "We've come here to support the Land of Grass."

Jiraiya saw Chinya smile. Although they hadn't interacted much, Jiraiya had personally witnessed Chinya's capabilities during the mission in the Land of Hot Water.

Chinya was also incredibly sharp-minded.

Having him around could relieve a significant portion of Jiraiya's pressure.

Jiraiya turned to Kakashi, his tone tinged with regret. "I heard about Sakumo Hatake. I truly am sorry."

Kakashi replied without expression. "My father violated Konoha's rules. There's nothing to be sorry for. Thank you for your concern, Jiraiya-sama."

Jiraiya slightly furrowed his brow.

He recalled meeting Kakashi before, and back then, Kakashi hadn't been nearly this cold.

Listening to Kakashi's words now, it sounded as if Hatake Sakumo's death had been deserved—utterly devoid of emotion.

Orochimaru was an extremely cold person.

Orochimaru's disciple, Chinya, was no different—equally cold.

And now even Kakashi, who originally wasn't cold, had become cold as well.

Why did all three of these master-disciple relationships end up like this?

Jiraiya couldn't help but think it must be Orochimaru's influence.

After all, as the saying goes, "The fish rots from the head down."

Before Jiraiya could assign any missions to Chinya and Kakashi, Chinya proactively requested a long-term mission for both himself and Kakashi.

Jiraiya hesitated. "A long-term mission… I've only just arrived in the Land of Grass and don't know much about the current situation here. Shinei, do we have any suitable long-term missions for Chinya and Kakashi right now?"

He passed the question to Nara Shinei.

After thinking it over for a moment, Nara Shinei replied. "There is one mission, but it's quite dangerous. If one isn't careful, they might get surrounded by Iwa ninja. However, given Chinya's exceptional mobility, it could be a good fit for him.

The Rock ninja are stirring again, and our current strategy is complete defense. We lack clear intelligence on their deployment, so we need someone to gather information on the Iwa ninja's current movements.

In war, knowledge is power. Obtaining accurate intelligence on Iwa's situation would be extremely beneficial to us."

Chinya nodded after listening. "Fine, we'll take this mission."

Nara Shinei frowned. "Chinya, this mission suits you alone, not Kakashi. If you bring Kakashi along, I'm worried…"

Chinya cut him off directly. "Don't worry. Kakashi is now under my guidance. His mobility surpasses that of most ninja, and he won't hold me back on the mission."

Kakashi followed up indifferently. "If you're worried I'll jeopardize the mission like Sakumo Hatake did, rest assured. If I encounter danger, I'll commit suicide immediately, so Teacher Chinya won't face any difficulties."

Both Nara Shinei's and Jiraiya's expressions stiffened at the same time.

They hadn't expected Kakashi to say something so harsh.

It seemed Hatake Sakumo's death had left a deep mark on Kakashi.

Chinya added again. "You've heard what Kakashi said yourself. Please entrust us with this mission."

Since things had come to this point, Nara Shinei nodded. "Then I believe this mission can be assigned to Chinya and Kakashi. What do you think, Jiraiya-sama?"

The new commanding officer is Jiraiya, so he must make the call.

Jiraiya gave a light cough, then turned solemn. "If that's settled, Chinya and Kakashi, your next task is to investigate the intelligence of Rock Ninja. Once you obtain the information, report it to me or Shinei immediately!"

"Yes."

Chinya and Kakashi had no intention of wasting time — they were ready to head out right away. While on their mission, they'd also keep an eye out for members of Kushina Uzumaki's clan.

However, just as Chinya and Kakashi were about to leave, Jiraiya halted Chinya.

"Chinya, wait a moment. Let's talk in private."
