Chapter 32: Chapter 32 Teaching
Under the great waterfall.
Rumble!
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet."
"Wind Release: Verdant Gale."
"Earth Release: Quicksand Swamp."
A water dragon burst from the water, controlled by Iruka, attacking Satoru.
Ibara Keisen attached Wind Release to his Wind Demon Shuriken, forming a pincer attack with Iruka.
Beneath Satoru's feet, there was also a quicksand trap several meters deep, meant to bind him and provide support for his teammates.
Facing these attacks, Satoru smiled faintly.
He formed hand seals.
It was incredibly fast, in just a flash.
The attacks landed on him.
Bang!
A log appeared in his original spot.
"Ah, Substitution Technique!" Iruka exclaimed in annoyance.
The Water Dragon Bullet and Wind Demon Shuriken attacks only hit a log.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
All three were panting.
Using such Ninjutsu consumed a lot of their Chakra.
"Is that all you've got?"
At some unknown point, Satoru was hanging vertically beside the waterfall, forming hand seals.
He pressed his hands downwards.
"Small Rock Rods."
Puff, puff, puff~~
Beneath the three, countless earth and rock rods shot out like scattered heavenly flowers.
But Satoru also held back, merely prodding their rear ends to send them flying before stopping his movements.
Ah~
All three simultaneously jumped up.
Clutching their rear ends.
This was their third day of special training.
Under Satoru's guidance, they had used Chakra paper to determine their elemental affinities.
Iruka: Water and Fire affinity.
Ibara Keisen: Wind affinity.
Mibu Shinobi: Earth affinity.
He taught each of them a B-rank Ninjutsu, letting them experience the difficulty of Ninjutsu training.
However, he underestimated his teaching ability; all three were already able to fully release them.
Three days had passed.
"Damn it, Captain, didn't you say you only knew a little about Ninjutsu outside of Genjutsu?" Mibu Shinobi shouted in frustration.
He had been deceived by his captain.
He thought it was truly just a little, and today they were confident in their three-on-one fight using their newly learned Ninjutsu, telling the captain not to use Genjutsu or Taijutsu.
He never expected that what the captain called "a little" was truly not just a little.
Ninjutsu was like Satoru's limbs; he could direct it wherever he wanted, as if wielding his arm.
It was as if he could see through everyone's Ninjutsu attacks.
The other two also nodded in agreement; they had thought the same.
Until they fought today.
Satoru heard this and laughed, "It is just a little. It's your lack of proficiency, not that I'm too strong, understand?"
"Alright, today's sparring ends here. Next, we'll review your current weaknesses."
"Iruka, your mastery of Chakra shape transformation is too poor.
So, both your attack strength and speed are far too lacking. Therefore, your next task is to learn and master Ninjutsu shape transformation."
He pointed at Iruka and said.
"Mibu Shinobi, it's the same for you; your shape transformation mastery is too poor, causing the formation speed of your Quicksand Swamp to be too slow.
Your Genjutsu training will have to wait until your foundations are solid."
"Iron Wire, your talent is stronger than theirs. Both your attack speed and Ninjutsu formation are relatively fast.
Therefore, your next task is to deeply master the nature transformation of Wind, making your attacks sharper."
He was unstinting in his guidance for every disciple.
The basic concepts of nature transformation and shape transformation, which Naruto hadn't learned from Jiraiya in two and a half years, he instilled in them.
It was a bit difficult, but they had to learn it.
Because this was a necessary ability to be promoted to Jonin; only by mastering one's nature transformation, then learning nature transformations of other attributes, and mastering Ninjutsu of multiple attributes, enough to deal with enemies of different attributes, could one be promoted to Jonin.
This was the common path in Konoha.
Might Guy was an exception.
Coincidentally, he knew a tiny bit of all of these.
He hoped that his disciples would all be promoted to Jonin before the plot began.
Otherwise, he would lose too much face.
According to the original work, only Sakura under Kakashi was a Jonin, while the other Twelve Strongest Ninja were basically all Jonin after the Fourth Shinobi World War.
It wouldn't do to lose to them.
Although Satoru adhered to his principle of being a wage earner who goes wherever he is needed.
But even a wage earner needs a face.
Especially since he was getting married in two years and might have a bunch of sons and daughters later, he needed experiences worth bragging about.
"However, that's enough for today. Let's go; I'll take you to a hot spring.
I heard there's a very comfortable hot spring inn in the nearest town."
Even Ninja can't train all day long.
He understood the importance of balancing work and rest.
"Oh yeah!"
The three shouted excitedly.
It was too comfortable following their captain; he always treated them to big meals and fun activities.
Only the training was a bit tough.
Looking at the three's excited expressions, Satoru pulled out a dragonfly-shaped wallet and counted the money.
It was enough until they returned to Konoha.
A portion of it was given to him by Ayame when she saw him leaving for a mission.
It's really good to have a rich girlfriend!
...
The Satoru Squad.
They lived a cyclical life every day like this.
In the morning, they would eat a hearty breakfast in the bustling town, and then begin training their Ninja qualities.
They would return for lunch and gather intelligence on Asuma's next moves.
In the evening, at Satoru's request, they would travel to the next town at night, training the three's night travel abilities.
Without anyone interfering, the three little ones progressed very quickly.
Of course, it wasn't to the extent of reaching the sky.
After all, even with the talents of Neji and Sasuke, a month of training wouldn't yield any significant progress.
These things require accumulation over time.
And Satoru didn't continue to teach them high-difficulty Ninjutsu; it wouldn't be good for them.
Having one Ninjutsu was temporarily enough.
More important were the fundamentals: Chakra control, Chakra shape transformation, Chakra nature transformation, Ninja tool throwing, Taijutsu development, practical combat drills...
As well as using various battlefield scenarios to explain how Ninja should respond to different situations.
These were the focus of Satoru's teaching.
These fundamental Ninja qualities were teaching methods he had compiled after absorbing the memories of numerous Ninja.
As long as their foundations were solid, even if he wasn't by their side in the future,
Their learning speed would also be very fast.
The one who made the most progress was Satoru.
"Leaving Genjutsu aside, my Ninjutsu is becoming more and more proficient, and my various Ninja qualities are continuously improving. Indeed, only by learning and then outputting is the fastest way to learn!"
Satoru never expected that teaching disciples could accelerate his already strong talent even further.
Regarding Ninja fundamentals, he could now say without hesitation that even Jiraiya was not his match.
Whether in terms of Chakra abilities.
Or the various knowledge a Ninja should learn.
Perhaps only in terms of intelligence was he still far behind.
Mainly, he wasn't a spy-type Ninja; he was just a wage earner in the Analysis Team, and having this ability was already quite good.
