Chapter 183: Chapter 182 - Mikoto's Decision 02.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Konoha, Year 39.

...

...

In the Uchiha clan's training field, the yellow aura continued burning, appearing out of nowhere, while the most sensitive ninjas present could feel a cold, dark chakra exploding so intensely that it sent chills down their spines.

The Uchiha clan's patriarch found himself in a highly precarious situation at that moment. His cautious eyes were fixed on the skeletal hand formed by his own daughter, Mikoto, and his gaze fell upon her enormous eyes, resembling those of a great demon staring him down as if he were nothing.

Mikoto had awakened the legendary Mangekyo Sharingan, a mythical ability in her clan that only a handful of people throughout history had ever achieved.

Feeling powerless before those eyes, he realized Mikoto was far more powerful than he had ever imagined.

"Mikoto..." he murmured, incredulous.

"I told you, Father, I would gain the power to decide my own destiny, and I won't play your political games," Mikoto spoke firmly, her eyes locked on his.

"You don't understand, Mikoto. You have a responsibility to the clan, especially now that you possess those eyes!" he replied, attempting to argue while maintaining his authoritative posture.

"Even so, I will choose my own destiny, and I refuse to follow your orders, Father. I am taking a different path, and I will do it even if I have to force my way," Mikoto declared, her voice filled with determination. She felt so powerful, yearning to push her limits and see how far her eyes' power could go, almost intoxicated by the strength of her new eyes. Then, a familiar voice echoed in her mind.

'Remember: never use your eyes for too long, or you'll go blind.' Minato's words resonated in her thoughts, and she knew she needed to stop. Mikoto remained satisfied with what she had demonstrated to her father.

The giant skeleton she had summoned began to dissipate, causing the patriarch to fall to the ground. He managed to land with balance but maintained a cautious gaze at Mikoto as the yellow aura receded, now only enveloping her body briefly before fading away entirely. Her eyes returned to their normal three tomoe state, yet she continued to stare at him with the same unwavering resolve as before.

"This is my answer, Father. Now decide, because I am leaving here—whether with your approval or not," Mikoto said with authority.

At that moment, several people began entering the tent, cautiously observing both of them and taking in the chaotic scene. The ground was gouged, and the tent was torn open above Mikoto, though no trace of the skeleton remained.

The clan leader maintained a wary gaze on his daughter, while the newcomers appeared confused by what had transpired.

"Patriarch..." they murmured hesitantly.

The patriarch clenched his teeth, alternating his gaze between Mikoto and the others. Even Fugaku was among them, visibly curious about what had happened.

"What was that giant skeleton?!" someone asked.

"Forget it. All of you, leave now!" the patriarch ordered, his voice firm and commanding.

The men exchanged glances before obeying the order and leaving. Once everyone had exited, he turned his serious gaze back to Mikoto, who remained resolute, defying him with her stance.

"How did you get those eyes?" he asked, his voice deep.

"It doesn't matter," Mikoto replied, recalling the unpleasant experience Minato had made her endure. The memory filled her chest with despair and anger, to the point where she couldn't speak to Minato for days afterward, upset with him.

"Mikoto, you know what those eyes mean to the clan!" he insisted.

"I don't know what they mean to the clan, but I know what they mean to me, Father. And you don't want to face my eyes," Mikoto stated, her voice laden with confidence.

Despite not yet having full control over her Sharingan, Mikoto knew she could surpass her father in a direct confrontation in this state. Furthermore, she was certain Minato would support her, even against the entire clan if a conflict arose.

"Why? Why are you doing this, Mikoto? You were supposed to be the wife of the next patriarch, to ensure our bloodline continued to lead the clan!" Mazu Uchiha exclaimed, his anger evident in every word, spoken through gritted teeth.

"I love someone else, Father. And, even if I won't be his only wife, I've already decided: I'm going to marry him," Mikoto declared without remorse.

"I should never have let you join that boy's team," he murmured with a tone of regret.

"This happened before the team. Since then, he helped me unlock my Sharingan, and I began to love him... That was over seven years ago!" she replied, as her father raised an eyebrow, surprised.

"There's that... You mentioned he helped you unlock your Sharingan... How does he have such knowledge? Even about the Mangekyo..." he asked cautiously, reflecting on what she had said earlier.

"He didn't steal from the clan, Father. After all, he knows more than the clan could ever teach me," she retorted, leaving her father even more frustrated.

He looked at Mikoto for a while. He knew what she wanted was absurd, something the clan would never accept.

"I won't give you an answer on this now. Although I'm clearly dissatisfied with all of this and disagree with it—especially since you've become even more valuable—I will think about it. I need time to reflect," he finally said, acknowledging that he had no more arguments and couldn't make such a decision lightly. He knew he would have to consult certain people, the elders.

"You mentioned that this boy challenges the entire clan?" he continued cautiously. "Tell me: who is stronger, your eyes or him?"

"Minato is stronger than I am. Even using all my powers, I still can't compare to his strength," she replied calmly.

"Why? What makes this boy so special? Would he face the clan if necessary?" her father asked suspiciously.

"I won't speak of Minato's strength, Father, but rest assured: when he says he'll face the entire clan, he can do it," Mikoto affirmed firmly.

The patriarch observed her for a few seconds, pondering her words, before letting out a scoff.

"I don't believe he can do it, no matter what. Not even with this rumored ability to stop a bijuudama. Even so, many in the clan will be dissatisfied and will surely attack him. The question is: will he handle it?" he inquired.

"Minato has already anticipated something like that. Even so, he'll face anyone," Mikoto replied with a firm tone once more.

"I just hope you're making the right choice, Mikoto. Because from now on, things won't be easy," he said seriously. It was clear that the clan would not be pleased with his decision to allow his daughter to marry someone outside the clan.

In the end, he simply sighed, closed his eyes, and deactivated the Sharingan he had kept active until then.

"Fine. You may go," he said, still angry but aware that he could do nothing more.

Mikoto turned and was about to leave when he called her again.

"Mikoto," he said, making her stop and look sideways.

"Your eyes... Don't forget them. Never reveal those eyes to anyone in the clan, much less to the village. They'll see them as a curse," he warned, his tone dark.

"I know, Father. Minato has already told me about this. We've been careful not to show these eyes to anyone," she replied. "He told me he knows the four elders are constantly trying to find a way to destroy us, the Uchihas, because they see us as a plague. They want to get rid of us for good," she added, making her father raise an eyebrow, evaluating his daughter.

"I understand. He's not wrong. Very well, then... Until next time," he said simply, as he watched Mikoto step through the tent's entrance and disappear.

"Daughter..." was the last thing he managed to murmur before returning to his tasks, cleaning up the mess created by his daughter's Susanoo. He thought deeply about what would be best for Mikoto—a difficult decision, and clearly, neither choice would be without consequences.

In the end, Mikoto managed to join another team returning to Camp 6 and advanced into the early evening toward the camp. She stayed there for a while, trying to keep to herself, as everyone looked at her cautiously, curious about what had happened in the leader's tent. None of them knew she had created the Susanoo.

Even Fugaku tried to speak with her as soon as he saw her and approached, but she simply rejected him, not wanting to talk.

She could only hope that everything would work out now, though she feared that Minato might face the entire clan alone. Even though she admired the strength of the man she loved, a seed of concern took root in her.

In silence, she traveled with the other team through the forest, heading to Camp 6 once more. Having chosen not to stay in the clan's camp, she felt it inappropriate to sleep in a tent there after the chaos she had created with her father. This surprised her companions when, as they were dining, she reappeared with a small smile on her face.

"Mikoto, you're back!" Minato was serving food to the camp members, who eagerly awaited his cooking. There were even some guest jonin, as his culinary skills were legendary. Mikoto approached quietly.

"Yes, I'm back," she replied with a small smile.

"Well, that's great. Anyway, join us and have something to eat," he invited, and she nodded.

After the jonin departed, the group began chatting among themselves. The atmosphere was much lighter now. For the first time, Mikoto seemed genuinely happy, even smiling, which surprised her friend Hanabi. Watching from a distance, Hanabi admired Mikoto's openness, as she had never seen her so content before.

At the end of the night, everyone went to sleep. Mikoto, however, accompanied Minato to his tent. Sitting down, they began to talk about what had happened.

"You unleashed your Susanoo in the middle of the camp? Against your father?" Minato asked, surprised to hear about the confrontation.

"Yes. He had put me in a genjutsu to try and lecture me. My three-tomoe Sharingan wasn't enough to break it, so I used the Mangekyo, unleashed the Susanoo, and restrained him," she explained calmly.

"Well... That's a bit unexpected," he murmured, scratching his head. "Anyway, I'm glad you've resolved things."

"Yes," she murmured back, gently taking his hands and looking into his eyes. Minato looked back at her, and it didn't take long for their lips to meet.

But Mikoto didn't stop at a simple kiss. She parted her lips, surprising Minato as she deepened the kiss, her hands sliding across his body.

"Hey, Mikoto... What are we doing?" he pulled back slightly, looking at her. Her cheeks were flushed, and she gazed at him with a seductive expression.

"We'll face this as husband and wife. We can take the next step," she said, but he frowned.

"Not yet, Mikoto," he tried to calm her. "We're still young. This will only be appropriate after marriage. Let's wait a little longer," he said seriously, unwilling to take that step at this point in their lives.

"Alright..." she murmured, her embarrassment growing. "Anyway, it's time for me to go..." she said timidly, starting to leave.

"Mikoto." Minato called her, and she looked back. "Prepare for tomorrow. We'll begin real training, and by the end of it, I want everyone to grow stronger than ever before."

Mikoto gave a small smile at his words. "I'm looking forward to it. After all, I don't want to let you face the entire clan alone because of me. If we're going to be together, we'll do it together, as husband and wife!" she said with a smile before leaving the tent.
