Naruto: My Clones Can Evolve

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Demon of the Mist—Zabuza Momochi

"What are you doing wandering into someone else's village, kid?"

Without another word, Zabuza swung his massive sword—the Executioner's Blade—straight at Genzuki.

Genzuki easily deflected the attack with his Kusanagi sword, not even bothering to counterattack. Instead, he turned to Yagura and calmly asked, "Do you still want to continue?"

Yagura shook his head. The genjutsu was broken, and all his memories rushed back in an instant. No longer under Uchiha Obito's control, Yagura regained his consciousness.

『Ding! Mission complete. Genjutsu on Yagura successfully lifted. Reward: Illusory Clone Technique and an additional 100,000 reputation points!』

The Illusory Clone Technique had naturally evolved to Kage-level, giving Genzuki the ability to use all genjutsu except those tied to the Sharingan. By using this new clone, he could now access even the most advanced illusions.

At that moment, Genzuki turned his attention to Zabuza and Haku, who stood beside him.

He had no intention of killing them. Their backstories in the original were already tragic enough.

This seemed like the perfect opportunity to test his Illusory Clone.

Genzuki's pupils contracted slightly, and with a single glance, the illusion began to take effect.

Thud! Zabuza dropped the Executioner's Blade to the ground, then reached over and gently removed Haku's mask.

Without another word, Zabuza and Haku silently faded into the mist, disappearing from view.

Suigetsu and Yagura watched in stunned silence.

"Just… genjutsu alone could control them like that?" Suigetsu muttered, astonished.

Genzuki smiled. "They won't be ninjas anymore. They'll find a place to live quietly."

With Kage-level illusion mastery, Genzuki could cast any genjutsu in the world except those tied to the Sharingan. Controlling Zabuza or Haku was mere child's play for him.

Genzuki bent down and picked up the Executioner's Blade, admiring it. However, he could tell that its power wasn't quite on par with his Kusanagi sword.

He had already accumulated over 200,000 reputation points—more than enough to exchange for an artifact of his choice. These common weapons would be better suited for Suigetsu.

"Now, we just have Kisame Hoshigaki and your brother, Hozuki Mangetsu, left to find," Genzuki said, tossing the Executioner's Blade to Suigetsu.

Suigetsu caught the sword, his eyes lighting up. This was his ideal weapon.

"With the Lightning Swords and the Executioner's Blade, you should be able to protect Charcoal Shinobi Village, right?" Genzuki asked.

Suigetsu nodded confidently. "Don't worry, Boss. As long as I'm around, those Iwagakure guys won't dare come near the village."

By now, Suigetsu had reached Kage-level strength, so Genzuki wasn't concerned.

He then turned to Yagura.

"You're aware of what you've done, aren't you?" Genzuki asked.

Yagura lowered his head. "I understand. You're saying I should step down as the Fourth Mizukage."

Genzuki nodded.

Under Obito's genjutsu, Yagura's reign had led to the loss of countless talented ninjas. His oppressive rule had caused widespread resentment among the people. He was no longer fit to be Mizukage or even remain in the village.

"How about joining my organization?" Genzuki suggested. "The Moon Organization."

Yagura blinked in surprise.

"You're strong, but you want me to join your organization? I… I'm still the Fourth Mizukage, after all."

Before Yagura could finish, he suddenly found himself immersed in a terrifying illusion. He hadn't even realized when Genzuki had cast it on him.

Genzuki's icy voice echoed in his ear.

"My illusions aren't as gentle as Obito's…"

"You can choose not to join. After all, I've already taken what I wanted. But… it seems you've forgotten your place."

Before Yagura could react, he was engulfed in a sea of blood.

The smell, the sights, the sounds, even the feeling of blood soaking his skin—it was all indistinguishable from reality. Yagura couldn't tell it was an illusion at all.

Genzuki's illusions had far surpassed his earlier Mist-style Genjutsu: Demonic Mist Prison. His Kage-level illusion techniques were among the most realistic in the world, second only to the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Moments later, Yagura collapsed to the ground, gasping for air like someone on the verge of drowning. Even as a perfect jinchūriki, he couldn't escape from Genzuki's illusion unscathed.

"Phantom of a Thousand Shadows… Your power is terrifying. I'll join the Moon Organization!" Yagura said between ragged breaths. "But if I leave, the village will be left leaderless."

Hearing that, Genzuki already knew the answer.

"There's a genius woman in Kirigakure named Mei Terumi. She'll be the best candidate for the next Mizukage."

Yagura nodded, recognizing the name.

"Let's do as you say."

Thus, the young Mei Terumi was appointed as the Fifth Mizukage.

Meanwhile, Yagura, the perfect jinchūriki, joined the Moon Organization under Genzuki's command.

Suigetsu returned to Charcoal Shinobi Village with the two legendary swords to fulfill his task of protecting the village.

With Yagura at his side, Genzuki's power had grown even stronger.

"What's our next destination?" Yagura asked.

"Iwagakure," Genzuki said. "I intend to take it down and eliminate the northern threat once and for all."

Yagura froze for a moment. Taking down Iwagakure single-handedly?

Even before falling under genjutsu, he would never have considered something so insane.

But after seeing Genzuki's abilities, he began to believe it might actually be possible.

As they set off on their journey, an uninvited guest appeared.

A massive puppet blocked their path—it was none other than Sasori's puppet, Hiruko.

"Sasori… You've grown tired of living, haven't you?" Genzuki said with a cold smile.

"Genzuki, do you like the nickname I gave you? Or should I call you Phantom?" Sasori said calmly.

"I told you, you wouldn't live much longer," Sasori added, his eyes narrowing. "Wait… is that Yagura standing next to you? Why is he your ally?"

Genzuki ignored Sasori's shock, smiling with pity.

"Your intel is outdated. If you think this is enough to take me down, you're in for a surprise."

"Come on, show yourself. I know you're not alone," Genzuki said, his voice dripping with impatience.

He knew the Akatsuki always worked in pairs. If Sasori was here, his partner couldn't be far behind.

A dark figure emerged from the shadows—a man with white hair, shark-like teeth, and a devilish grin.

Genzuki's eyes narrowed. "Hozuki Mangetsu… I didn't expect it to be you."

Mangetsu chuckled. "So, you've already met my brother. Too bad… I've joined the Akatsuki. If it weren't for you killing Deidara, I wouldn't have climbed the ranks so quickly."
