Naruto: My Clones Can Evolve

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Crushing Gato

On the bustling street, Genzuki caught sight of a familiar group—the main characters from Naruto.

It was Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke, and their teacher, Hatake Kakashi.

The four seemed to have already visited Tazuna's house and were now leisurely wandering around the streets.

Should I go say hi? Genzuki thought to himself.

He had taken care of Zabuza as a threat, but by doing so, he had left this group exposed to an even more dangerous enemy.

This time, Gato had hired an S-rank rogue ninja—far more powerful than Zabuza. If the group continued with their mission as planned, they would likely face serious danger.

Thinking it through, Genzuki decided it might be a good idea to introduce himself.

Suddenly, another thought crossed his mind—Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage, might easily be recognized.

"Yagura, why don't you wear a mask?" Genzuki suggested.

Yagura immediately understood and nodded.

Genzuki bought a mask from a street vendor and handed it to Yagura.

This way, they wouldn't easily recognize him as the former Mizukage.

Finally, Naruto stopped at a game stall.

It was a shuriken target-throwing game. Anyone who hit the bullseye would receive a cute stuffed bear as a prize.

"I really want that bear!" Sakura exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "I'm going to try it!"

"I'll show off my shuriken skills!" Naruto said eagerly.

Sasuke scoffed. "Boring."

Sakura tried to convince him. "Come on, Sasuke! You're way better at shuriken than Naruto!"

However, Kakashi firmly stopped them.

"You two are real ninja. Playing this game would be like cheating."

Hearing Kakashi's reasoning, the stall owner sighed in relief.

He hadn't explicitly stated that ninja weren't allowed to participate, mainly because ninja were so rare in the Land of Waves that it had never crossed his mind.

"May I give it a try?" a white-haired young man suddenly stepped forward.

He was followed by a masked companion and a little blonde girl.

This strange combination immediately caught Kakashi and his team's attention.

Judging by their appearance and aura, the stall owner assumed Genzuki must be some rich young master taking his sister out for a stroll.

The masked man, however, looked strong—a bodyguard, perhaps.

But Genzuki himself didn't look like a fighter at all—he was too slender and seemed physically weak.

To the stall owner, people like Genzuki were easy targets. They rarely believed they couldn't win and would end up spending a lot of money without ever hitting the bullseye.

"Of course! You're welcome to try!" The stall owner smiled.

Genzuki placed a tael of silver on the counter, picked up a shuriken from the stall, and weighed it carefully.

Right away, he noticed something odd.

The shuriken was hollow, filled with iron sand.

When thrown, the iron sand would shift inside, disrupting its balance and making it nearly impossible to hit the target.

Even an experienced ninja might have trouble landing a perfect hit.

Genzuki smiled knowingly and shot the stall owner a meaningful look.

The stall owner suddenly felt uneasy, as if his scam had been completely seen through.

Did he figure it out? Impossible! He tried to calm himself. No one had ever seen through his trick before.

Genzuki studied the shuriken, thinking about how to hit the target.

Even though he knew about the trick, the shuriken's trajectory was still completely unpredictable.

What should I do?

Soon, an idea came to him.

"Are you going to throw or not, young master? There are others waiting," the stall owner urged, afraid the shuriken's trickery would be exposed.

"We should go. Tazuna is waiting for us at home," Kakashi said, preparing to leave with his students.

Suddenly, Genzuki spoke up. "Boss, can I throw three shuriken at once?"

This question immediately caught Kakashi's interest.

From the start, he had known the shuriken were rigged, which was why he had stopped Naruto and the others from wasting their money.

But he also knew there was one way to overcome this trick—throwing multiple shuriken simultaneously and having them collide to correct their trajectories.

Could this boy be more skilled than he looks? Kakashi wondered.

The stall owner hesitated for a moment but nodded, still oblivious to the underlying trick.

Genzuki smiled playfully, skillfully picking up three shuriken and tossing them as if scattering flower petals.

The stall owner smirked. Such a random throw will never hit.

But in the next instant, his smirk froze.

The first shuriken veered downward due to the iron sand.

The second shuriken, however, collided with the first, altering its trajectory upward.

Then, the third shuriken struck both at just the right angle—sending the first shuriken straight into the bullseye.

The stall owner's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "Is that even possible?!"

The shuriken had ricocheted like billiard balls in midair, landing perfectly in the center of the target.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

"Wow... That was amazing!" Naruto cheered, clenching his fists in excitement.

Sakura's cheeks flushed as she suddenly found Genzuki very handsome.

Even Sasuke frowned, thinking, That's even more precise than the Uchiha clan's shuriken techniques.

"No way, Sasuke. Feel the weight of this shuriken," Kakashi said.

Sasuke picked up one of the shuriken and instantly noticed something off.

"This... this shuriken is rigged!"

He glanced at Genzuki, who remained calm and composed.

"He managed to do all that with this shuriken?"

Kakashi sighed. "Sasuke, there are many people in this world younger than you but stronger than even me."

The stall owner, though unwilling, knew better than to cause trouble for someone this skilled. He forced a smile and handed over the prize. "You're amazing. This bear is yours."

The stuffed bear was beautifully made. Genzuki had only spent a tael of silver, but the stall had clearly taken a loss.

He handed the bear to Chino, smiling. "It's for you, Chino."

Chino's cheeks turned pink as she clutched the bear tightly. "Thank you, Genzuki-oniisan."

No one had ever given her a gift before. Her life had always been filled with pursuit and danger.

Now, for the first time, she felt warmth.

Sakura eyed the bear longingly—after all, she was still just a young girl.

Noticing Sakura's gaze, Chino smiled and handed the bear to her. "Do you want it, sister? You can have it."

"Huh? No, no, I couldn't possibly take it..." Sakura waved her hands in embarrassment.

Genzuki chuckled. "Chino is offering it to you. Just accept it."
