Naruto: My Sign In System Is Too Overpowered

Chapter 13: C12: Encounter with Rock Lee

Sakura stepped closer to Sasuke, hands tucked shyly behind her back. She smiled sweetly.

"Hey, Sasuke-kun, do you have any plans for this afternoon? I was thinking… maybe we could go shopping together?"

Sasuke barely glanced at her before waving his hand dismissively.

"I'm not interested. I don't waste time on pointless things."

His tone was flat, cold.

Then, without hesitation, he shifted the burden to Naruto.

"You should ask Naruto instead."

Sakura's expression soured instantly.

"Ugh, who would want to go shopping with Naruto?" She scoffed, crossing her arms.

Naruto, who had been leaning against the wall, rolled his eyes.

"Relax, I wouldn't go even if you begged me. I have training to do."

Without waiting for a response, he pushed open the door and walked off, heading straight toward Training Ground 44.

The afternoon was long, and there was no way he was going to waste it.

---

Right now, Naruto could only open up to the third gate of the Eight Gates.

That wasn't nearly enough.

If he wanted to truly grow stronger, he had to push his limits.

He needed more physical endurance. More power. More speed.

And most importantly—he needed to be ready before defecting from Konoha.

The Akatsuki were out there.

And they wanted the Nine-Tails inside him.

If he left the village now, he could probably survive using Flying Thunder God to escape.

But if he ran into an Akatsuki duo like Itachi and Kisame?

He wouldn't stand a chance.

The thought of being hunted down and captured made his stomach twist.

No.

He had to be stronger first.

And then…

There was Danzo.

That damn old man.

If anyone was responsible for making Naruto's childhood a living hell, it was him.

Danzo had spread rumors, turning the entire village against him.

He had hidden the truth about Naruto's parents, making sure everyone saw him as just a demon fox.

Why?

Because Danzo didn't trust a jinchūriki that wasn't under his control.

He wanted Naruto broken.

He wanted Naruto to fail, so he could replace him with a "better" host.

The same way he had tried to take control of the Nine-Tails after the Pain Invasion in the original timeline.

Naruto clenched his fists.

That bastard was on his list.

But for now…

Strength first. Revenge later.

Oh, and of course—

Taking Hinata with him.

If he was going to defect, he wasn't leaving alone.

She was coming with him.

---

Training Ground 44

By the time Naruto reached the training ground, the afternoon sun was blazing overhead.

And there, in the middle of the field, was a green blur.

A figure in tight green spandex and a bowl-cut hairstyle was walking upside down along the training track.

Naruto blinked.

"…Oh."

There was only one person in the world who trained like that.

"Oi, Lee! You're training hard as always!"

Naruto strode forward, waving.

Rock Lee flipped upright, landing lightly on his feet. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked at Naruto with a puzzled expression.

"Um… do I know you?"

Naruto paused.

Oh, right.

Lee was a year older than him.

He was in Guy's team, not among the usual Rookie 9.

So at this point, they hadn't actually met yet.

Naruto scratched his head.

"Ah… I just heard your name from an old lady passing by. She said you were Rock Lee."

Lee frowned in thought. "Old lady? Was it the Aunt from next door?"

He muttered to himself for a second but then shook it off.

It didn't matter.

Smiling brightly, Lee extended his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Naruto-kun! I am Rock Lee!"

Naruto shook his hand firmly. "Uzumaki Naruto. Likewise."

Lee's eyes gleamed.

"Judging from your forehead protector, you must be a fellow shinobi! If you're here to train, why don't we burn the flames of youth together?!"

He gave a thumbs-up, his teeth literally sparkling.

Naruto stared.

"…Nani?"

Seriously, what kind of line was that?

Only Might Guy could produce such a brainwashed disciple.

But Naruto couldn't help but laugh.

"Haha… Sure, let's train together."

He wasn't about to turn down a free training partner.

If anything, training with Lee could push him even further.

---

Lee immediately resumed his workout.

He walked on his hands, did whip kicks, and ran laps with ankle weights.

Naruto, meanwhile, went through his own routine.

Warm-up laps. Push-ups. Squats. Pull-ups. Striking drills.

The two trained side by side, neither speaking much—only focused on their own workouts.

But as Naruto observed Lee's routine…

He was shocked.

Lee's training was insane.

Every hour, he switched exercises like clockwork.

He didn't even need a watch. His body just knew when to move to the next routine.

It was ingrained in him.

Lee had practiced so much that training was no longer a choice.

It was his way of life.

Naruto wiped the sweat from his forehead, watching him.

"…Damn."

Lee's dedication was next level.

Naruto might have talent.

But Lee?

Lee had sheer willpower.

And that… was just as terrifying.

Still—

Naruto sighed, shaking his head.

"No matter how hard you train… you can't beat those stupid prodigies."

That was just how this world worked.

Talent always won in the end.

And Lee?

Lee had none.

He had no Ninjutsu. No Genjutsu.

Only Taijutsu.

And in a world where bloodline abilities ruled—

That wasn't enough.

No matter how much he pushed himself, Lee would always be at a disadvantage.

…Unless, of course—

He broke past his limits.

That was what Lee was really chasing.

And Naruto respected that.

---

As the sky darkened, Naruto drained the last of his water bottle.

"Whew. That's enough for today."

He stood up, stretching his arms.

Then he turned to Lee.

"What about you? Done for the day?"

Lee snapped his leg forward, delivering one final whip kick to the wooden training post.

BAM!

Then, he turned back.

"No, Naruto-kun! I still have one hour left of training! I must complete one thousand more kicks before I eat dinner!"

Naruto just stared.

"…Dude."

Lee was crazy.

But at the same time—

Naruto grinned.

"Alright. See you tomorrow then, Lee."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Lee to his never-ending training.
