Chapter 6: Chapter 5: A Conversation with Iruka
Deep in the woods, the ANBU agents vanished into the shadows, taking the Sealed Scroll with them.
Yamashiro Aoba and Kotetsu Hagane lifted Mizuki's beaten, near-lifeless body and carried him out of the forest.
The medical team would have to analyze the strange mutation Mizuki underwent. What was in that serum? Why did it cause his body to age so rapidly? Those answers would come later.
Right now, Iruka was staring at Naruto.
His heart was a mess of emotions.
Naruto—the boy who had always caused trouble, the student who had frustrated him countless times—had just displayed unbelievable power.
He wasn't the same Naruto from this morning.
This boy—no, this shinobi—had learned forbidden techniques in a single night.
His strength had changed beyond recognition. And his future… was limitless.
Naruto shivered under Iruka's gaze.
"Oi, Iruka-sensei… Why are you looking at me like that?"
Iruka snapped out of his thoughts and laughed awkwardly.
He walked up and clapped a hand on Naruto's shoulder.
"Haha, Naruto! Congratulations on keeping the Sealed Scroll safe and not falling for Mizuki's tricks! Let's go—sensei's treating you to ramen tonight!"
Even before coming here, Iruka had already known Mizuki had tried to manipulate Naruto to steal the Sealed Scroll.
Naruto blinked, then grinned.
"Sweet! I'm starving!"

Hokage's Office
Sarutobi Hiruzen sat at his desk, puffing on his pipe. His expression was one of shock.
"What? You must be mistaken… Naruto learned the Flying Thunder God Technique and the Eight Gates?"
The two ANBU agents exchanged glances, then nodded firmly.
The bear-masked ANBU stepped forward. "Hokage-sama, we saw it with our own eyes."
Sarutobi was silent for a long moment.
Then—he chuckled.
"Hahaha! Excellent! Naruto… you didn't disappoint me."
He still didn't understand how Naruto had mastered such difficult jutsu so quickly. But the results spoke for themselves.
The Flying Thunder God had once made Namikaze Minato the most feared shinobi in the world—the Yellow Flash of Konoha.
After Minato's death, no one had ever mastered it again.
But now—Naruto had.
And not just that.
Naruto had also learned the Eight Gates, an extremely demanding taijutsu technique.
Sarutobi's eyes gleamed. This was beyond his expectations.
His plan to compensate Naruto for his difficult life had turned out better than he ever imagined.
Now… he just needed to secure Naruto's loyalty.
By guiding him. By teaching him about the Will of Fire.
By binding Naruto's future to Konoha.
Sarutobi smiled.
"I see. Good. Now, summon Kakashi. I have something important to discuss with him."
The ANBU bowed. "Yes, Hokage-sama."
In an instant, they disappeared.

Ichiraku Ramen – Sunset
The sky glowed orange and red as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Outside Ichiraku Ramen, two figures stepped through the curtain and took seats at the counter.
One tall. One short.
Iruka smiled warmly. "Naruto, order anything you want. My treat."
Naruto grinned mischievously and turned toward the old man behind the counter.
"Uncle Teuchi! Alright, I'll start with ten bowls of pork ramen and five bowls of beef ramen—just to warm up!"
Teuchi laughed. "Got it! Coming right up!"
Iruka, however—
"NANI?!"
His eyes nearly popped out of his head.
"Fifteen bowls?! Naruto, that's my whole food budget for the week!!"
Naruto smirked. "What's wrong, Iruka-sensei? Didn't bring enough money? Should I eat less?"
Iruka sweatdropped.
"No, no… It's fine. Eat as much as you want."
He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. Well… there goes my savings.
As they waited for their food, Naruto studied Teuchi carefully.
There was an old theory among Naruto fans.
Ichiraku Teuchi—an ordinary ramen shop owner… or a secret member of the Otsutsuki Clan?
The so-called "Otsutsuki Ichiraku" conspiracy.
Naruto squinted. If he really was an ancient celestial being hiding in Konoha, he had a damn good disguise.
Teuchi, noticing Naruto's intense stare, gulped nervously.
"Uhh… Naruto? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Naruto coughed, looking away. "Ahem… No reason. Just… make sure you add extra pork and beef."
Teuchi laughed nervously. "Sure, sure!"
---
Iruka sighed, glancing at Naruto.
Then—his expression softened.
"Naruto… I owe you an apology."
Naruto blinked. "Huh?"
Iruka looked him in the eyes, sincere regret shining in his gaze.
"I was too harsh on you before. I shouldn't have treated you differently. No matter what, you're my student. And you've always been a victim in all this."
Naruto's chest tightened.
For a long time, no one had ever looked at him like that. Not with kindness. Not with understanding.
Naruto scratched his cheek, looking away. "C'mon, Iruka-sensei, don't be like that. You weren't wrong. I did fail the exam."
Iruka shook his head.
"No, Naruto. That's not what I mean."
He smiled. "What I mean is… you've grown. And today, you proved yourself."
Iruka's eyes gleamed with pride.
"You mastered the Flying Thunder God and the Eight Gates. Your future is limitless."
Naruto waved a hand dismissively. "Ehh, don't hype me up too much, sensei. I'll get embarrassed."
Iruka chuckled and reached out, ruffling Naruto's hair.
"No, Naruto. You deserve it."
His voice was warm. "One day, you'll become a great shinobi."
Naruto froze.
His breath hitched slightly.
For a moment—just a moment—his eyes grew misty.
Because, for the first time…
Someone truly believed in him.
