Naruto: Saving the Universe by Stealing Attributes

Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Birthday

Winter gave way to spring.

The snow had melted, and tender green buds emerged on the branches.

Uchiha Mirai sat with one leg crossed over the other, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he watched Uchiha Mikoto and Konan engrossed in paperwork. Their focused expressions made it hard for him to suppress his amusement.

It had been some time since he became the Fourth Hokage.

During this period, his life had grown increasingly enjoyable.

First, he had established the Hokage Secretary Team.

Members included Uchiha Mikoto, Konan, Kurenai Yuhi, Uzuki Yugao, and Nohara Rin.

Thanks to them, Mirai rarely needed to handle administrative duties personally unless they involved major decisions affecting the village or the shinobi world.

When not training, he would sip tea and appreciate the beauty around him, living a life that could only be described as indulgent. Compared to the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki—who was so busy he could barely eat at home—Mirai's life was downright divine.

Then there was Tsunade.

At first, she maintained a reserved demeanor, waiting for him to make the first move when collecting "interest" from her gambling debts. But over time, as her losses accumulated, her inhibitions gradually disappeared.

Now, she would take the initiative whenever she needed money, offering "favors" in exchange. Mirai, of course, welcomed her advances.

And their exchanges had evolved far beyond simple kisses.

Mirai had ascended to the metaphorical peak of the mountain—an experience so breathtaking that even he almost had a nosebleed from sheer excitement.

He knew it wouldn't be long before Tsunade was entirely his.

As for her extravagant spending? It wasn't an issue. After all, a man with strength could afford to be arrogant.

While Mirai was lost in thought, Kurenai, Rin, and the others stretched, rising from their seats to relieve the fatigue of long hours of work.

The sight of their graceful forms in motion stirred something in Mirai. The natural curves highlighted by their movements never failed to captivate him.

Noticing his gaze, the women exchanged knowing smiles, letting out soft, amused hums.

Embarrassment might have overcome them individually, but in the company of their sisters, they felt at ease.

Kurenai walked up to the desk, her voice cheerful. "Mirai, let's all go out for yakiniku tonight."

Mirai scratched his head in confusion. "Yakiniku? Is today some kind of special occasion?"

Kurenai placed her hands on her hips and declared, "Of course it is."

"Today is your seventeenth birthday!"

Hearing this, Mirai was struck by a wave of nostalgia. Seventeen years… It had been that long since he came to this world.

From his initial excitement to anxiety, relentless training, and finally rising to lead Konoha—his memories flashed before his eyes, leaving him with a bittersweet feeling.

A burst of cheerful singing pulled him from his reverie. Anko Mitarashi entered, carrying a cake adorned with lit candles.

Kurenai nudged him playfully. "Come on, Mirai, blow out the candles and make a wish!"

With a smile, Mirai closed his eyes and extinguished the flames in one breath.

"What did you wish for?" Kurenai asked curiously.

Mirai flicked her forehead lightly. "If I tell you, it won't come true."

"Ugh, fine…" Kurenai pouted, rubbing her forehead.

"Alright, let's head to the yakiniku restaurant!"

Cheers erupted as everyone eagerly anticipated the feast.

The group soon arrived at a private room in the restaurant. Along with Kurenai, Rin, Mikoto, Konan, Anko, Yugao, Yakumo Kurama, Nonou Yakushi, and even Princess Rinko, Tsunade was also present.

Catching Mirai's gaze, Tsunade huffed.

"Don't get the wrong idea—I'm just here for the free food."

Mirai chuckled. "But this is a family gathering."

Tsunade's fist clenched at his words. "So what? Am I not allowed to attend a family gathering?"

Mirai quickly waved his hands. "Of course you can! In my eyes, we're already family."

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Hmph! Don't let it go to your head."

As platters of fresh meat were served, the women eagerly began grilling. Watching their joyful expressions, Mirai felt a warmth spreading through his heart.

So this is what it feels like to have a family.

While Mirai enjoyed the rare peaceful moment, the shinobi world stirred with unrest.

...

In Sunagakure,

The Fifth Kazekage, Pakura, tossed a scroll aside with a frustrated sigh.

The Daimyo of the Land of Wind had ordered her to punish Konoha for Uchiha Mirai's insubordination. He even threatened to cut off funding until they launched an attack.

Pakura's headache grew worse. Unlike Rasa, she didn't possess Gold Dust to sustain her village. Without financial support, dissent against her leadership was already brewing.

Killing the Daimyo seemed like an obvious solution, but she lacked the strength and influence of someone like Mirai to make it feasible.

After much deliberation, Pakura decided to seek Mirai's advice.

Channeling chakra into her Flying Thunder God kunai, she summoned him.

Mirai appeared beside her, a faint smear of cake still on his face.

Pakura tilted her head curiously. "What's with the cake?"

"Ah…" Mirai rubbed the back of his head. "Today's my birthday. I just finished dinner and hadn't cleaned up yet."

Pakura's cheeks tinged with guilt. "Your birthday? I'm sorry—I didn't mean to interrupt you…"

Mirai waved her off with a grin. "It's fine. Have you eaten yet?"

She shook her head. "Not yet."

Mirai's smile widened. "Perfect. Let's talk over some food."
