Chapter 249
"I underestimated the defense of this ninjutsu!"
Uchiha Fugaku was a little surprised.
The reason why he killed Dodai was because of the deal with the Hyuga clan.
To him, Dodai's Kekkei Genkai was just a bonus, and he didn't take it too seriously.
But now it seems that he underestimated this Kekkei Genkai that specializes in defense.
Although this Kekkei Genkai had no offensive power, it was extremely effective in terms of defense.
"Susanoo—"
Uchiha Fugaku used Susanoo, and a black skeletal giant hand appeared, grabbing the sphere and squeezing it.
The sphere deformed slightly but still maintained its general shape. If someone had been protected inside, they wouldn't have been injured.
"I really underestimated the defense of this ninjutsu!"
Uchiha Fugaku was surprised.
The giant hand of Susanoo had an extremely terrifying grip strength.
It could easily crush a person into pulp and even an iron ball of the same size could be destroyed.
Such power still wasn't enough to destroy the sphere, showing its immense defensive capabilities.
"Second form—"
Uchiha Fugaku used the second form of Susanoo, and the skeletal figure gained muscle and flesh.
With this form, Susanoo's strength instantly increased as he pinched the sphere again.
The sphere was severely deformed, but even so, it still wasn't destroyed.
If someone had been inside, they might have been injured but would have survived.
"Third form—"
Uchiha Fugaku powered up to the third form of Susanoo, adding armor to the structure, increasing its destructive power.
Puff—
Under the might of the third form, the sphere was completely flattened and shattered. Its defense was finally broken.
Even then, Uchiha Fugaku was impressed by the defense of the sphere.
After all, this was the third form of Susanoo—already at the peak of the Mangekyō Sharingan's power.
"It's a really good defense. Although it can't compare to Susanoo in overall might, this Kekkei Genkai has its advantages—it doesn't consume ocular power."
Uchiha Fugaku sighed.
He had to admit that he had underestimated this bloodline limit. In the original timeline, the Lava Release technique was once broken by the Reanimated Third Raikage, so it hadn't looked very powerful.
But the Third Raikage was no ordinary opponent.
He was someone who could fight the Eight-Tails hand-to-hand, suppress it, and even sever one of its horns.
It wasn't that this Kekkei Genkai lacked power—it was that the Third Raikage was simply too overwhelming.
...
Deep within Konoha Prison, several cells were under heavy guard.
These cells were protected by special seals that nullified all escape techniques. No one could sneak in or out using teleportation or substitution techniques.
This was where Konoha held its most dangerous criminals.
Inside one of these cells was Orochimaru, the S-rank rogue ninja captured alive by Uchiha Fugaku.
He wore standard-issue prison garments and had several sealing tags placed across his body. His chakra was entirely blocked off.
Buzz—
The air within the cell distorted, and a man wearing a black cloak with red clouds and a spiral-patterned mask silently appeared.
It was Uchiha Obito.
"I didn't expect the great Orochimaru to end up in such a sorry state."
He chuckled while looking at Orochimaru.
"Space-Time Ninjutsu!"
Orochimaru observed Obito with curiosity, his eyes gleaming with interest.
Konoha's maximum-security cells were fortified to block escape techniques. Only space-time ninjutsu could bypass them.
"You must be the rumored Wood Release user. As expected, a member of the Akatsuki."
"You could say that... or not," Obito said, using a tone that mimicked Uchiha Madara.
"Oh? What's that supposed to mean?"
Orochimaru's interest deepened.
"I'm the one who helped establish Akatsuki. It exists because of me—created to fulfill my vision."
Obito's voice was calm and firm.
"So you're the mastermind behind Akatsuki?"
Orochimaru was visibly surprised.
"That's right."
Obito nodded confidently.
"I'm surprised someone like Pain, with the Rinnegan, would follow someone like you."
Orochimaru raised an eyebrow.
"Surprised? Then what if I told you I was the one who gave him those Rinnegan?"
Obito smiled mysteriously.
"You gave Pain the Rinnegan?"
Orochimaru stared in disbelief.
"Who... who are you?"
"My name is Uchiha Madara."
Obito revealed the Mangekyō Sharingan in his right eye.
"Uchiha Madara?"
"Mangekyō Sharingan?"
Orochimaru's pupils narrowed like a snake's.
Uchiha Madara was a legendary figure said to have died fighting the First Hokage.
For this man to claim that name, and possess the Mangekyō Sharingan...
Even if he wasn't the real Madara, he had to be of Uchiha blood.
"Uchiha Clan..."
He instinctively licked his lips.
The Uchiha Clan was indeed full of mysteries.
There was Uchiha Shisui, a teenage genius with Kage-level strength.
There was the terrifying Uchiha Fugaku, who had hidden his power for decades.
Now, there was this man in front of him with Kamui and Mangekyō Sharingan, calling himself Uchiha Madara.
And then there was Uchiha Itachi, whose talents had once impressed him deeply.
The Uchiha bloodline was too unique.
"Let's go. I'll get you out of here."
Obito used Kamui, creating a swirling black vortex.
"Leaving now?"
Orochimaru glanced at him with interest.
"The current Uchiha Clan Head is just as strong as you were back in the day. He's the one who captured me. Don't you want to see how you compare?"
Orochimaru's voice was probing.
Obito's masked expression stiffened slightly.
He had indeed experienced Fugaku's terrifying power once and barely escaped.
But he couldn't admit that here—not if he wanted to maintain his image as the legendary Uchiha Madara.
"Just another junior. Not worth my time."
Obito said stiffly.
"I see..."
Orochimaru smirked. His sharp instincts had already noticed the awkward tone.
Most likely, this "Uchiha Madara" had suffered at Fugaku's hands.
And now, Orochimaru could guess his true identity.
He stepped forward into the black vortex alongside Obito.
Even though he could've escaped on his own, it was easier to let someone else do the work.
