Naruto: To Hell This Suicide System

Chapter 100: [99] Temporary Kazekage

"Just finished a mission, so I'm out exploring." Tengen said casually.

"You can do that?" Tsunade blinked, caught off guard by his nonchalant swagger.

She'd heard Tengen often wandered off while with Orochimaru, but she'd thought it was just talk. Seeing it now, Tengen's audacity was as explosive as ever.

"Where's Orochimaru and your team?" She asked.

"They headed back to Konoha ahead of me." Tengen said, shaking his head.

"Back to Konoha already?" Tsunade frowned. Typically, leaving a ninja alone outside was frowned upon unless they were on a specific mission.

Given Tengen's prodigious talent, she expected Hiruzen to have safeguards in place. Yet here he was, roaming freely, treated almost like Jiraiya or herself.

"The old man's fine with it, so no worries." Tengen said.

If Hiruzen heard this, he'd likely have words. He had assigned Anbu to protect Tengen, but Tengen's strength, and his Flying Technique, made them impossible to track. Eventually, Hiruzen relented, letting Tengen do as he pleased, so long as he didn't betray Konoha.

"Really? When did Sensei get so lenient?" Tsunade muttered. "Since you're here, don't rush off. How about cooking us something tonight?"

Her eyes gleamed. Months ago, Tengen's cooking had left an indelible mark. Its flavors still lingered in her memory, a tantalizing itch no other dish could scratch. Despite sampling cuisines across the ninja world, nothing compared, not even close.

Shizune's face lit up with longing, her eyes sparkling as if she'd cry if Tengen refused.

"Alright, I'll whip up something delicious tonight." Tengen said with a laugh.

"That's my Tengen." Tsunade beamed.

Sometimes, food truly could capture a heart.

"My Tengen? What happened to 'little pervert Tengen'?" He teased.

"For today, you're just Tengen." Tsunade said, shooting him a sidelong glance.

After finishing their meal, the trio strolled through the town, visiting the market near dusk to buy ingredients.

Borrowing a diner's kitchen, Tengen prepared a lavish feast for Tsunade and Shizune. Unlike the simple bento from before, this was a culinary masterpiece. The two ate with fervor, their faces flushed with delight, prompting Tengen to inwardly groan at the exaggerated reactions. Was his cooking that potent?

No wonder Food Wars was nicknamed "Aphrodisiac Wars", their ecstatic moans still echoed in his ears.

Eventually, Tsunade and Shizune ushered him out of their room.

Glancing at his slight frame, Tengen sighed. "I'm only nine, after all."

Despite his advanced taijutsu making him appear older, he was undeniably a nine-year-old.

The night passed quietly, uneventfully.

The next morning, outside the town, Tengen faced Tsunade and Shizune. "I'm heading out."

"Tengen, the ninja world's getting restless. I don't want to hear you've died." Tsunade said, her tone serious.

"Don't worry. Even if I die, I'll crawl out of hell to see you both." Tengen said with a grin.

"What kind of talk is that?" Tsunade snapped, glaring.

"Stay safe, Tengen." Shizune said softly.

"Alright, I'm off. Until we meet again." Tengen said, vanishing in a flash toward Konoha.

Moments later, Tsunade turned to Shizune. "Time for us to go too."

"Understood, Tsunade-sama." Shizune nodded.

Nearby, Tengen soared toward Konoha with his Flying Technique, thinking of Tsunade and Shizune.

"We might meet sooner than expected." he murmured, smiling as he twirled a kunai etched with a Flying Thunder God seal.

Time slipped by, months passing in a blur.

The ninja world grew increasingly volatile, with sporadic conflicts erupting. The buffer of smaller nations kept the great villages from all-out war, but tensions simmered hotter than usual.

Sunagakure, still reeling from the Third Kazekage's disappearance, remained without answers. A village couldn't function without a leader, so a young man in his twenties, Rasa, was named temporary Kazekage.

Whether he'd become the true Kage depended on his future performance. Possessing Magnet Release, akin to the Third Kazekage, Rasa's rise stirred Sunagakure's ambitions.

Perhaps he sought to prove himself with achievements.

The Land of Wind's scarce resources drove its Kage to secure more for the village.

Years after the Second Great Ninja War, the great villages had regained their strength.

Beyond the ninja world's mounting tensions, another development emerged: the rise of a new power in the Land of Rivers.
