Naruto: To Hell This Suicide System

Chapter 102: [101] The Future of Konoha

Watching Tengen's disappearance, Kakuzu also left the office.

His eyes burned with fervor. "Is the Ninja World War about to commence? This could be our golden opportunity."

Kakuzu could hardly wait to expand this faction, extending its reach across the entire ninja world.

Of course, such ambitions would undoubtedly provoke hostility from the Five Great Nations, even if the faction thrived.

If, after the Ninja World War, Kakuzu lacked the strength to counter the Five Great Nations, this faction could easily vanish like smoke.

Kakuzu himself might not be up to the task, but in his heart, he held a certain confidence in Tengen.

It was as if Tengen could achieve anything.

"Your caliber reminds me of Senju Hashirama from days past, no, perhaps even more ambitious." Kakuzu's eyes gleamed.

"But if there's money to be made, I'm all for it." Kakuzu grinned.

Konoha, inside Tengen's room.

Tengen's figure suddenly materialized, teleporting directly from the Land of Rivers, a testament to the enigmatic prowess of space-time ninjutsu.

"Knock, knock." A sound came from the door.

It turned out Tengen had sensed someone approaching, prompting his swift return from the Land of Rivers.

"Wait a moment, I'll be right out." Tengen called.

"Yes, Tengen-sama." A ninja's voice replied from outside.

Though still a Chunin, most of Konoha's ninjas recognized Tengen's Jonin-level capabilities, not just from the Chunin Exams long ago, but from a recent mission where Konoha-nins encountered an elite Iwagakure squad, including a Jonin.

With Tengen's aid, they detained the elite squad, and Tengen himself took down the Jonin.

From that moment, Tengen's Jonin-level prowess became widely acknowledged.

Orochimaru and Tengen's teamwork ensured their squad faced no real trouble on missions, nothing posed a challenge to them.

Two Jonin, among the elite of their rank, held no fear even against Kage-level opponents.

Rising, Tengen opened the door, spotting a waiting ninja wearing a cat-faced mask.

An Anbu of Konoha.

"What's the matter?" Tengen asked.

"Tengen-sama, the Hokage requests your presence." The Anbu ninja replied.

"Alright, let's go." Tengen nodded.

The two swiftly traversed Konohagakure; Tengen's home, not far from the Hokage's office, allowed a quick arrival.

"Tengen-sama, I won't go in." The ninja said.

Tengen smiled faintly, pushed open the door, and saw Sarutobi Hiruzen seated in the chair.

At Tengen's arrival, Sarutobi Hiruzen broke into a smile.

As Konoha's Tengen, Hiruzen deeply approved of him, not to mention Tengen's strong bonds with Jiraiya and Tsunade.

"Hey, old man, what's up?" With no one else around, Tengen spoke casually.

Hearing this, Sarutobi Hiruzen's face took on a wry expression. "Tengen, I am the Hokage, you know. Show some respect."

"When others are around, I'll call you Hokage-sama." Tengen replied.

"Suit yourself." Sarutobi Hiruzen showed no trace of anger, perhaps he even liked Tengen's demeanor, reminiscent of Tsunade and Jiraiya.

In contrast, Orochimaru differed.

Reflecting on Orochimaru and Tengen's long partnership, both were geniuses, yet their personalities never quite aligned.

Orochimaru seemed to grow ever more somber, and Hiruzen worried it might affect Tengen.

Yet Tengen remained unchanged, living carefree as ever.

Or rather, living optimistically. If life became too burdensome, what joy would remain?

Even as Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen held a wish: to lead Konoha to greater prosperity.

One shouldn't live too heavily, a view Tengen shared.

Thus, Tengen often acted directly, like when he dropped the facade with Orochimaru, unwilling to maintain false pretenses.

"Tengen, you've noticed the ninja world growing more unstable, right?" Sarutobi Hiruzen said.

"Indeed, recent missions have shown as much." Tengen nodded, agreeing.

"We've heard Sunagakure may be planning covert actions, so I'd like you to investigate the truth of it." Sarutobi Hiruzen stated.

"Not the whole squad?" Tengen blinked, as missions typically involved Orochimaru leading the team.

"This is a special mission, no need for the full squad, just you." Sarutobi Hiruzen explained. "And after this, it's time you're promoted to Jonin."

"A Jonin at 9 years old, more prodigious than Kakashi." Sarutobi Hiruzen chuckled.

Kakashi became a genius at 12, setting records, but Tengen now pushed that age back by three years.

"Genius or not, whatever. But, old man, just me alone?" Tengen asked.

Was this mission solely for Tengen to probe Sunagakure's movements?

"No, not a squad, but one other will join you." Sarutobi Hiruzen said.

"Who…" Tengen paused.

"Someone you know." Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled, and the door opened again.

Seeing the familiar figure, Tengen froze.

"It's him. You two will handle this mission together, Namikaze Minato and you." Sarutobi Hiruzen said.

"Minato." Tengen gazed at Namikaze Minato.

"It's me, Tengen. I hope we complete this mission smoothly." Namikaze Minato flashed a bright smile.

"Of course, with you as my partner, Min

ato, I'm very confident." Tengen grinned back.

Watching Namikaze Minato and Tengen, Sarutobi Hiruzen felt as if he glimpsed Konoha's future.

"You two are the future of Konoha."
