Naruto: Uchiha Destroys Konoha at the Start.

Chapter 17: Chapter 17 The Divide Within (1) edited

Outside the Uchiha Compound

The night was cold and still.

Sarutobi Hiruzen stood at the district's edge, silent. Around him, Anbu flickered in and out of sight, waiting for orders.

He had picked them carefully—no regular shinobi, no witnesses. Only the elite. Only those trusted to erase the Uchiha without hesitation.

He stepped forward—and noticed immediately.

Danzo was missing.

Hiruzen frowned but said nothing. With a flick of his hand, the Anbu advanced, slipping through the district's barriers like phantoms.

Then they saw it.

A golden Susanoo towered above the battlefield, warping the very air around it. Even from afar, Hiruzen felt the pressure—thick, suffocating.

Danzo… what did you unleash?

Inside the Compound

Uchiha Fugaku stood amid chaos, his Mangekyō glowing.

Across from him, Itachi's gaze was steady.

"If they see their kin slaughtered," Itachi said quietly, "more will awaken their Mangekyō."

Fugaku nodded. "It's already begun."

In the distance, Uchiha Tekka watched the golden Susanoo with awe.

"This… this is true Uchiha power!" he said, voice reverent.

All around, warriors gripped their weapons tighter. Resolve hardened. Blood called to blood.

Then—Kaito moved.

One swing of his sword tore the earth open. The ground cracked. Bodies flew. Screams followed.

Those who ran didn't get far.

The shockwave shattered windows across the compound.

And then—Hiruzen appeared.

The Third Hokage, flanked by Anbu, stepped onto the battlefield. Behind him, Uchiha leaders including Fugaku and Tekka arrived in formation.

For a moment, the chaos paused.

The Uchiha stood divided.

The Hokage waited.

Then—

"Kaito!" a voice called out.

Uchiha Haruto.

He stepped forward, hands trembling. The presence of Hiruzen and Danzo had changed everything.

Kaito didn't even look at him. "Leave it to me."

Tekka backed off, wordless. Kaito's loyalists followed suit, silent and still.

But from the other side, voices rose.

"Clan leader… what's going on?" a young chunin asked, eyes flicking between Kaito and the Hokage.

Fugaku hesitated. The truth pressed against his throat.

I'm trading your lives for Sasuke's future.

Before he could speak—

Tekka snapped.

"Don't ask, fool. Our beloved clan leader wants his own son to kill us all."

Silence. Cold and heavy.

"What?!" the young Uchiha shouted.

Dozens turned to Fugaku, waiting for a denial.

Then Danzo stepped forward.

"Don't be deceived!" he barked. "Uchiha Kaito seeks rebellion—Fugaku opposes him! That's why Kaito's turning on his own."

It was clumsy, rushed. Transparent.

But Danzo knew one thing:The Uchiha inner circle still wanted to believe in Konoha.

Their eyes turned to Fugaku—pleading.

Fugaku's fists clenched. His mind raced.

If he could win Itachi back... if he could align three Mangekyō Sharingan… he could still save the clan.

He looked to Kaito—

And saw Danzo's smirk.

It was bait.

Fugaku hesitated.

Then—

"Elder Danzo is correct."

The world cracked.

The crowd exploded.

"WHAT?!"

Shouts turned to howls. Kaito's loyalists surged forward, betrayal burning in their eyes.

"Fugaku! Have you forgotten your blood?!"

One man stepped out—mid-thirties, face twisted with grief. His voice was raw.

"You were our clan leader!"

Behind him, others stared—some stunned, some shaking, some just silent.

"Traitor!"

The word was hoarse. Not screamed. Not spat. Spoken like a death sentence.

Fugaku didn't move. But his hands trembled.

He had led these people through war. Through loss. Through everything.

And now—

All he saw in their eyes was hate.

No trust. No brotherhood. Just betrayal.

A boy—no older than Sasuke—stood behind his father, clutching the man's robe.

"Father… what does it mean?"

The man couldn't answer. His eyes didn't leave Fugaku.

One by one, the clan bowed their heads.

Not in respect.Not in surrender.

In grief.

A woman collapsed to her knees, staring blankly at the ground. "No… this isn't real… it can't be…"

Another man whispered, "You'd trade us... for your son?"

Fugaku tried to speak.

But what could he say?

That they didn't matter?

That Sasuke was worth more?

That this was decided from the start?

There were no words.

Some shinobi turned away, unable to look at him. Others stared at the sky, blinking hard, refusing to let the tears fall.

The Uchiha didn't cry.The Uchiha didn't beg.The Uchiha didn't break.

Tonight—they did.

At the center of it all, Kaito stood motionless.

Watching. Waiting.

Like he had seen it coming from the beginning.

The Uchiha had shattered.

And there would be no putting them back together.
