Chapter 165: Chapter:164
"Don't even think about running away!"
Kaguya Manro's voice roared with fury as he glared at the retreating figures in the sky. Ignoring the blind and dying Uchiha jonin who had sacrificed himself, Manro jumped high into the air. His body twisted unnaturally, almost as if he had no bones, and his finger bones shot out in rapid succession.
Ten Finger Piercing Bullets!
The bone bullets struck the legs of the ninja hawk carrying Madara and the two surviving jonin. The hawk let out a piercing cry of pain, losing its balance and flipping mid-air. The passengers on its back tumbled downward.
"Dammit! Protect the clan leader at all costs!"
One of the Uchiha jonin shouted, pushing himself to his limits. Summoning the last vestiges of his chakra, he performed a jutsu.
Fire Release: Dragon Flame Singing Technique!
Six roaring fire dragons surged downward, their destructive heat illuminating the darkened battlefield. But the Kaguya ninjas, anticipating the attack, pressed their hands to the ground. A massive skeletal wall rose, intercepting and extinguishing the flames before they could cause significant damage.
Plop!
Madara and his remaining companions hit the ground, their bodies covered in dirt and ash. Madara gritted his teeth in frustration. The humiliation of being grounded, filthy, and vulnerable stung worse than any wound.
For Uchiha Madara, this was a new low. Not even during his battles against Senju Hashirama had he ever been reduced to such a state.
Despite his frustration, his body was too battered, his chakra reserves depleted, and his nearly blind eyes rendered useless. The thought of unleashing his Mangekyo Sharingan one last time crossed his mind, but he knew it would leave him utterly helpless.
"Can we summon another ninja hawk?" one of the jonin asked, carrying Madara on his shoulder.
The other shook his head bitterly. "Even if we did, it wouldn't be fast enough to dodge their attacks. The moment it takes off, it'll be shot down."
The realization of their hopeless situation hung heavily in the air.
"That's enough," Madara muttered, his voice cold and resolute.
The jonin hesitated, unsure if they had heard him correctly. "What did you say, clan leader?"
Madara's lips curled into a bitter smile. "Use the last of your chakra—your psychic abilities and Izanagi—and take down as many of them as you can before you die. Each one you kill is a step closer to victory."
"Clan leader, we cannot abandon you!"
Madara cut them off with a harsh laugh. "Do you think we can escape now? Look at them."
He motioned weakly towards the horizon. Hundreds of Kaguya ninjas were advancing, their bone weapons gleaming in the light of the raging fires.
The reality sank in. There was no hope of survival.
But even in the face of death, Madara stood tall, pushing away the arm of the jonin supporting him. His body swayed, but his pride kept him upright.
"Uchiha will remember this day, the day we proved that even in the face of overwhelming odds, we stood proud. Kill as many as you can. That is your final mission."
The jonin clenched their fists, tears threatening to fall.
"Yes, clan leader!"
Madara let out a dry laugh, his voice carrying over the battlefield. "The entire Warring States Period will know what happens when you stand against Uchiha!"
As he prepared to make his final stand, a sudden high-pitched whistling sound filled the air.
Whoosh!
A wind pressure sharp enough to cut skin swept over them. Madara instinctively looked up, his vision blurred but just clear enough to make out a spinning mass of light tearing through the sky.
Kaguya Takeri shouted, "Brace yourselves!"
Kaguya's defensive instincts kicked in as they pressed their hands to the ground, summoning another skeletal wall to block the incoming attack.
But it was too late.
The glowing mass—Rasen Shuriken—pierced through the skeletal wall, splitting it apart effortlessly.
"Get out of the way!" Kaguya Butori screamed.
Boom!
The Rasen Shuriken exploded into a storm of wind blades, tearing through the surrounding area and extinguishing the flames. The air itself seemed to shatter under the sheer force of the attack.
Amid the chaos, a shadow descended from the sky, landing gracefully in front of Madara and his companions.
"It's too early for you to die, don't you think?"
Madara squinted, recognizing the voice immediately. "Izuna?"
"Deputy Chief!"
The two jonin nearly collapsed from relief, their exhaustion momentarily forgotten.
"Izuna…" Madara's voice trembled slightly.
Izuna's sharp eyes scanned Madara's condition. The state of his elder brother brought a flicker of emotion to his usually composed face.
"You've held on long enough," Izuna muttered, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
Turning to the jonin, he asked, "Can you still move?"
"Yes, sir!" they answered in unison, straightening despite their battered forms.
Izuna gestured toward his ninja hawk, which landed with a powerful flap of its wings.
"Take Madara and leave. I'll hold them off."
"Deputy Chief, you're going to fight alone?" one of the jonin asked hesitantly.
Izuna smirked. "Do you think I had time to bring reinforcements? This is between me and them now."
Madara, still weak but unwilling to leave without speaking his mind, called out, "Izuna, retreat if you're outmatched. Don't be reckless."
Izuna chuckled softly. "Worry about yourself, brother. You're in no condition to give orders."
As the ninja hawk carried Madara and the others into the sky, Kaguya's ninjas launched another volley of Ten Finger Piercing Bullets.
Izuna raised his hand, conjuring a shield of white flame that incinerated the bone bullets mid-air.
"Your opponent is me now," Izuna declared, his voice calm but laced with undeniable authority. Sage mode markings appeared around his eyes, amplifying his already immense chakra.
Kaguya Manro growled, his voice filled with rage. "This is the second time, Izuna. Do you really think you can take on an entire clan by yourself again?"
Izuna's lips curled into a dangerous smile. "Why not? It wouldn't be the first time."
With a series of rapid hand seals, Izuna unleashed his first attack.
"Immortal Technique: Flame Release – Destiny Control Flame!"
A wave of fire erupted like a tsunami, illuminating the battlefield with its deadly glow.
End of the Chapter.
