Naruto: Uchiha Plunder System

Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Experience It Yourself

"Mirai, please spare Fugaku."

Hearing Mikoto Uchiha's plea, Mirai Uchiha snorted coldly. "He chose this path himself. He should bear the consequences of his choice."

Upon hearing this, Mikoto Uchiha lifted her head.

Her expression turned sorrowful. A rare hint of anger surfaced on her usually gentle face. "Then why don't you just kill him?"

"Fugaku is the clan leader of the Uchiha Clan. Imprisoning him is nothing but an insult!"

She could accept Fugaku Uchiha's death, but could not bear to see the mighty clan leader treated this way.

In response, Mirai Uchiha simply said calmly, "I haven't restricted his movements. He can choose to commit suicide if he wants."

"It's just… he lacks the courage to do it."

After hearing Mirai Uchiha's reply, Mikoto fell silent.

She understood Fugaku Uchiha's personality fairly well, and believed Mirai wasn't lying.

In fact, when Fugaku was first imprisoned, Mikoto was shocked but not overly worried.

After all, Fugaku was the leader of the Uchiha Clan and had been following the Third Hokage's orders when causing trouble for Mirai Uchiha.

Even if temporarily detained by Mirai Uchiha, he would surely have chances to regain his standing later.

But what she hadn't expected was that after imprisoning Fugaku, the Third Hokage remained silent.

For such a long time, not even the slightest action was taken. It was obvious that the Third had already abandoned Fugaku.

Recently, many clan members who used to visit her home frequently to discuss rescuing Fugaku gradually stopped coming.

Many people simply vanished without a trace afterward.

Opinions within the clan also began to coalesce around Mirai Uchiha.

Under these circumstances, Mikoto had no choice but to come in person to plead directly with Mirai Uchiha.

At the very least, she couldn't allow Fugaku to die in disgrace.

Thinking of this, Mikoto spoke solemnly, "Mirai, now that the Uchiha Clan already reveres you as its leader, even if Fugaku is released, he poses no threat to you anymore."

"On behalf of our family, I promise we will never meddle in the affairs of the Uchiha Clan again."

After finishing, Mikoto cautiously asked, "Or perhaps… Mirai wants wealth or ninjutsu resources?"

"Whatever we have, we're willing to give it all to you."

"Finished?" Mirai Uchiha scoffed lightly.

"Power? Money?"

"Mikoto, if you think my ambitions are limited to this, then you've underestimated me greatly."

Feeling the disdain in Mirai Uchiha's tone, Mikoto Uchiha tried to stay composed and shot back, "Then, Captain Mirai, what exactly is your goal?"

"For the future of the Uchiha clan!"

"What do you mean by that?"

Mikoto never could have imagined Mirai Uchiha would give such an answer.

Seeing the confusion on Mikoto's face, Mirai stepped closer and grabbed her chin. "Words won't help. You should witness that despairing future with your own eyes."

A pair of crimson Mangekyo Sharingan eyes flared to life, and instantly, Mikoto's gaze dulled into emptiness.

———

"Where… am I?"

Looking up at the sun in the sky, Mikoto Uchiha wore a puzzled expression.

Why had it suddenly become daytime?

What was she doing just now…?

"Mom!"

A childish voice came from behind. Mikoto turned around and saw a young boy carrying another small child toward her.

Suddenly, scattered memories pieced themselves together. A soft, gentle smile spread across Mikoto's face. "Itachi, Sasuke, where did you two go to play?"

The younger boy, still on his brother's back, pouted. "Mom, we were training as ninjas today."

"Even though I sprained my ankle, I've improved a lot!"

"I'll be able to beat big brother soon!"

With that, he leaned close to the older boy's ear and asked hopefully, "Big brother, will you train with me again tomorrow?"

The teenager gently set the boy down, a warm smile forming on his lips. "Sasuke, let's wait until your ankle heals first. Let Mother help wrap it."

"It's nothing."

"But I'm busy tomorrow."

"Ugh, big brother always makes excuses like that."

"Itachi…"

"Hmm?"

Smack!

The older boy gave the younger one a light poke on the forehead. "Sorry, forgive me."

Watching her two sons getting along so happily, Mikoto felt an indescribable warmth blooming inside her heart.

They'd grow up supporting each other, becoming great ninjas in their own ways. Wouldn't they?

As a mother, what could bring more joy than this very moment?

Satisfied after quietly watching the two boys play for a while, Mikoto walked forward and pulled Sasuke into a hug. "Itachi, your father seems to want to talk to you. Why don't you go ahead?"

"Yes."

...

Mikoto Uchiha had noticed her eldest son coming home less and less frequently, and the warm smiles that once lit up his face were nearly gone.

Even Sasuke had been feeling down recently.

It was no wonder, after all. His favorite older brother was hardly ever home, and whenever he tried to show Fugaku something new he'd learned with excitement, he usually received only harsh criticism in return.

With such an outstanding older brother as Itachi, Sasuke must have felt tremendous pressure.

Yet the two brothers got along surprisingly well... Having two sons like them certainly saved her from many worries.

Additionally... the recent Nine-Tails rampage had further strained relations between the village and the Uchiha clan.

Sigh! Minato and Kushina were such remarkable people, yet they lost their lives to the Nine-Tails... And they were tragically young too.

She wondered how the child was faring.

She had heard Kushina mention that child's name before...

Wasn't his name "Naruto"?

That's right, the Third Hokage had taken over again, and people said during the Nine-Tails' rampage, someone saw the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan in its eyes.

This meant hard times were coming for the Uchiha again.

Truly troubling times indeed, but unfortunately, there wasn't much she could do about it.

Still, she would trust Fugaku—surely he could manage everything effectively.

Sighing, Mikoto Uchiha began hanging up the laundry and preparing dinner for the day.

Since she couldn't help with other matters, she could at least do her best within her role—as a wife and mother.

...

Mikoto Uchiha sat alone in the courtyard enjoying the sunshine, though her brow furrowed slightly.

Though she didn't involve herself in clan affairs, as the clan leader's wife, she inevitably caught wind of many recent developments.

The missing case of Shisui Uchiha—the genius ninja who had long been cherished as the clan's hope—had become a hot topic.

The radical faction within the clan firmly believed the Third Hokage was responsible and kept calling for justice.

Meanwhile, the conservative faction strongly opposed this view, insisting that Shisui's disappearance shouldn't lead to jumping to conclusions, let alone blaming the Hokage.

Both sides argued fiercely every day, nearly escalating into open conflict.

Many people came to her seeking information, yet even she had no idea what exactly Fugaku was thinking.

A flicker of worry stirred in Mikoto's heart.

Would things really be alright if allowed to continue this way?

In such tense times, regardless of whether one sided with the radicals or conservatives, wouldn't someone need to firmly pick a side and support it?
