Nagato looked at his reflection in the water, focusing especially on the pair of unfamiliar eyes staring back at him. He was stunned, then murmured in disbelief, "Is this... the Sharingan?"

It wasn't as if he was entirely ignorant. Ever since he noticed something unusual about his eyes, he had actively sought information on bloodline-related eye techniques like the Byakugan and Sharingan to understand the unique traits of his own eyes.

Having experienced the Chūnin Exams, Nagato was well-versed in the intricacies of the Sharingan. His knowledge was extensive and his understanding profound.

However, the blood-red eyes he now possessed were clearly different from the typical Sharingan. The three tomoe had morphed into three vertical lines pointing to the pupils, each encircled by a thin black ring, creating an otherworldly beauty.

"Incredible."

The speaker was Uchiha Setsuna.

He took two steps closer, studying Nagato's eyes carefully.

If he hadn't witnessed the entire process, he would never have believed that an outsider could awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, especially someone unrelated to the Uchiha clan.

Even the Sharingan in Setsuna's own eyes had been transplanted later in life.

Though Uchiha Setsuna was a relic from the Uchiha Madara era, he had no explanation for this phenomenon. Such a thing had never occurred in the entire history of the Uchiha clan.

With this in mind, he turned to look at Ishigami Hara.

The latter smiled and said, "Yes, it is indeed the Mangekyō Sharingan."

"You know your previous situation."

"After Senior Jiraiya brought you back, I replaced your eyes with a new pair."

"Speaking of which, you owe thanks to the Uchiha clan."

"If it weren't for the Sharingan they provided, you would have remained blind."

Then Ishigami Hara turned to Uchiha Setsuna and said, "Nagato is unique."

"He's a descendant of the Uzumaki clan, and his blood is extremely pure."

Ishigami Hara heard this and waved his hand dismissively. "This child will live in Konoha from now on."

Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Setsuna listened intently, as did the others.

"From my experience, with the physique of the Uzumaki clan, you possess an abundant Yang chakra. If you can achieve the Ultimate Yang Chakra Nature Transformation, you might be able to negate the side effects of the Mangekyō and potentially surpass its limits."

He continued, "Of course, this is just speculation. Whether it's possible or not, we'd need to conduct experiments to be sure."

Nagato took a deep breath, blinking, and watched as his eyes reverted from the Mangekyō state back to the three-tomoe form. Even that state only lasted a moment before his eyes turned to ordinary black pupils once again.

The two Uchiha exchanged surprised glances.

In Uchiha history, Sharingan had been transplanted before, but transplanted eyes could only remain activated and could not be deactivated. This was thought to be dictated by blood.

But with Nagato, the usual limitations didn't apply, and the eyes seemed to integrate seamlessly, as if they were his by birth.

"It's truly exceptional."

They looked at each other, sharing the same thought.

"Nagato, you need to answer me now. Are you willing to return to Konoha and live there in the future?" Ishigami Hara asked directly.

Nagato's expression changed, and he fell silent.

"Are you worried about Yahiko and Konan? Or is it because of your own circumstances?"

Seeing his hesitation, Ishigami Hara pressed further.

Nagato nodded, remaining quiet.

Ishigami Hara reassured him, "I promise, as Hokage, that Yahiko and Konan will be welcomed as residents of Konoha, and the three of you will be allowed to keep your team together."

Hearing this, Nagato felt relieved. Although he didn't fully understand why Ishigami Hara made this offer, he had already received his help and would not refuse.

Besides, while Yahiko's dream mattered, the safety of his companions was even more important to him.

"Alright, I understand," Nagato said.

Ishigami Hara nodded and smiled. "Very good. The village will arrange housing for the three of you, and you'll receive the same treatment as Chūnin. Consider yourselves part of the village; you are all comrades here."

As Hokage, his words held significant weight, offering reassurance and satisfaction to the three of them.

Finally, Ishigami Hara added, "About your unique condition, I'll need you to cooperate with a thorough examination. I believe you're curious to uncover the secrets as well?"

"Yes, I understand. I'll cooperate."

"Excellent! I'm beginning to like you, boy!"
