Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Rinnegan Awakens!
Chapter 366: Rinnegan Awakens!
Six months later, the year had turned to Konoha Year 58.
With the spread of hybrid crops and the widespread adoption of greenhouse farming, even the northern regions, where winters were harsh, could now grow winter crops. Double cropping in a year was fully achieved.
Vegetables and fruits could now be bought in northern winters, something unimaginable before.
In the south, with sufficient food supply, the focus shifted to economic development, with large-scale road construction and factory building projects taking center stage.
According to domestic statistics, the Land of Fire had achieved its first five-year plan—eliminating hunger—two years ahead of schedule.
Haneda had initially doubted the accuracy of the data. However, after personally inspecting some of the most impoverished and remote mountain villages, he confirmed that roads, clothing, and food were no longer an issue. He formally announced the results nationwide.
Of course, it wasn't just the Land of Fire benefiting from Haneda's leadership. The allied nations, the Land of Rain and the Land of Bears, were also experiencing rapid development.
The Land of Rain, known for its frequent rainfalls, struggled with insufficient grain production but had a more advanced industrial base compared to the Land of Fire.
As an ally, the Land of Fire provided significant advantages in exporting grain to the Land of Rain. Additionally, industrial products from the Land of Rain faced exceptionally low tariffs when imported into the Land of Fire.
With the Land of Fire's support, the Land of Rain resolved most of its post-war issues.
Of course, Pain's strong leadership played a crucial role.
In the Land of Rain, anyone disrupting public order or development was dealt with harshly. Unscrupulous capitalists were publicly executed, their bodies hung from lampposts.
Even Kakuzu dared not replace his heart in the Land of Rain, and Hidan avoided preaching there entirely.
If the Akatsuki members were so cautious, outsiders had no chance to exploit the situation.
The Land of Bears, on the other hand, was mountainous and lacked the Land of Rain's industrial advantages. Its arable land was only marginally greater than the Land of Rain's, ranking poorly among smaller nations.
It couldn't compete with nations like the Land of Grass or the Land of Waterfalls.
Yet, with Haneda's covert support, its development accelerated rapidly.
Confidential technologies were even discreetly delivered to Hoshigakure (the Village Hidden in the Stars), showcasing the preferential treatment.
After all, the leadership of Hoshigakure was entirely composed of Haneda's people, so prioritizing them wasn't unreasonable.
If Haneda hadn't instructed Hoshigakure to maintain a low profile, its overall strength might already rival Sunagakure's, second only to Amegakure.
These were just some of the larger changes.
But after a year of preparation, Haneda's Rinnegan had finally awakened!
The awakening of the Rinnegan wasn't painful; it happened suddenly and unexpectedly.
Haneda only realized it when he was asleep. At first, he thought he was dreaming.
It felt as though his soul had detached from his body, floating beside his bed. He watched himself lying there peacefully on the soft mattress, eyes closed.
Then, his physical body suddenly opened its eyes. A faint purple light, marked by rippling concentric rings, glowed from his pupils.
In that instant, Haneda was jolted out of his out-of-body state.
In the stillness of the night, Haneda stood before a mirror, staring at his own eyes. It felt surreal.
The thing he had long anticipated was finally his, but there was no profound change, leaving him oddly underwhelmed.
He had expected the awakening of the Rinnegan to be as dramatic as the Mangekyō Sharingan's, triggered by intense emotional upheaval.
After all, when Madara arranged for Nagato to awaken the Rinnegan, it was under circumstances of extreme trauma.
Young Nagato had witnessed the death of his parents, awakening the Rinnegan and seeking vengeance.
Haneda had assumed Madara had been mimicking the conditions for awakening the Rinnegan. Instead, it turned out he had been emulating the Sharingan's method.
No wonder Sasuke's Rinnegan awakening had been so anticlimactic. He had nearly died, then met Hagoromo in a vision, and afterward, he just woke up with it.
Plain and uneventful.
Haneda muttered a command, summoning a pale blue screen before him.

"Beyond the basic Rinnegan abilities, I've gained two new dōjutsu."
Haneda stared at his Rinnegan in the mirror for a moment before teleporting to the Third Training Ground using the Flying Thunder God Technique.
It was late—around 2 or 3 a.m. The training ground was deserted except for the stationed ANBU guards.
Itachi was leading tonight's shift.
Now a full-fledged ANBU captain, Itachi had been assigned his own team, separate from Shisui's, to maximize efficiency.
"Hokage-sama," Itachi greeted as he approached Haneda.
Before he could bow fully, his eyes caught the faint purple glow of Haneda's Rinnegan, and his expression lit up with astonishment.
"The Rinnegan? Hokage-sama, you…"
"Just call me Uncle Haneda," Haneda said, cutting him off with a smile. "Calling me Hokage-sama makes it seem like I'm distant from your father, Fugaku."
"But last year, Uncle Haneda, didn't you insist Sasuke call you Hokage-sama while at work?" Itachi asked, slightly aggrieved.
Haneda waved dismissively. "I was just teasing him."
"Now, Itachi, I need to test some jutsu. Take the ANBU and move to a safe distance—I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt."
"Yes, understood," Itachi replied, leading his subordinates to patrol the perimeter of the training ground.
Even though Haneda hadn't explicitly ordered it, the ANBU instinctively ensured that no information about Haneda's Rinnegan awakening leaked.
Once the area was clear, Haneda activated the Rinnegan's gravitational abilities, ascending into the sky.
With the Rinnegan, he could nullify Earth's gravitational pull, rendering its attraction toward him zero. By manipulating repulsion, he achieved flight.
As his silhouette overlapped with the moon, Haneda was struck by a feeling of omnipotence, akin to Pain unleashing Shinra Tensei. From this vantage point, he truly felt like a god overlooking all creation.
Raising his right hand toward the ground, he unleashed a powerful wave of repulsion.
The force slammed into the earth below, radiating outward from a single point until the entire Third Training Ground was leveled.
Haneda gazed at the massive crater he had created, deep in thought.
He had only used less than one-tenth of his power!
This was comparable to Pain's full-force attack on Konoha!
Stretching out his hand again, he used Banshō Ten'in.
In an instant, the dust and debris returned to the crater, filling it as if time had reversed.
Apart from the missing trees, it was as if nothing had ever happened.
Terrifying.
