"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu."

In the forest.

A graceful silhouette.

Hands moving swiftly, completing a series of hand seals.

She opened her mouth, releasing a powerful breath toward Anko.

"Whoosh—"

A massive fireball.

Rushed forward with lightning speed.

The scorching heat made Anko's face change color slightly.

Her hands quickly formed seals.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu."

A fierce blaze erupted from her.

It collided with the massive fireball.

A powerful explosion echoed.

The ground within a few meters turned blackened and sunken.

Smoke billowed everywhere.

But the two figures had disappeared.

They had retreated to the shadows of the forest, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Kiyoshi stood on a treetop.

Watching the sparring match between the two women, he sighed slightly.

It was supposed to be a simple sparring session, but due to the events earlier that morning.

They both seemed determined to prove something.

However, the difference in their strength was clear.

Anko, a Special Jonin, might have some secret and forbidden jutsu taught to her by Orochimaru, but she clearly couldn't match the now vastly improved Kurenai, who was practically an all-around Jonin.

They lunged fiercely toward the figure that appeared to be Kurenai.

However, in the next instant.

That form, supposedly tightly bound by the snakes.

Dissipated into smoke right before Anko's eyes.

"Genjutsu?"

Anko's expression changed.

She quickly formed seals.

A graceful figure slipped out from behind a tree.

Holding a kunai, lunging forward with precision.

"Release!"

In a flash, Anko's skin prickled, and she barely managed to break free from the Genjutsu.

She leaped back.

But she was a step too late.

A slash opened up on her right arm, drawing blood.

The wound was fresh.

With Kiyoshi, their doctor nearby, both Anko and Kurenai were fighting without holding back.

Though neither intended to mortally wound the other, injuries outside of fatal areas were permissible.

Victory would be determined when one surrendered or could no longer continue fighting.

"Anko, you might as well give up."

In the next moment, Kurenai formed seals.

She opened her mouth, releasing a fiery breath directly toward Anko.

"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Bomb!"

"Whoosh—"

In an instant, a fierce blaze shot out.

It engulfed Anko, who was backing away with a bloody arm, her face full of shock.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

In a split second, Anko completed her seals.

She slapped her hand onto the ground.

The summoning circle spread, and smoke billowed.

"Hiss~~~ hiss~~~"

A gigantic snake, with a diameter over a meter, appeared, making everyone's skin crawl.

Coiling its massive body, it crushed the surrounding trees.

Not only did it block Kurenai's Fire Style, but it also lunged forward with astonishing speed.

"Well, well, it seems Orochimaru does have some affection for this disciple after all."

From afar, standing on a treetop, Kiyoshi stroked his chin, chuckling lightly, "He even let Anko sign the Ryuchi Cave's summoning contract."

One after another, the classic Orochimaru-style jutsu appeared.

The ground trembled.

But the wall Kurenai hastily constructed was shattered by the ferocious snake in mere moments.

Yet it bought her enough time.

She once again put some distance between herself and the giant snake.

"Kurenai, you've really surprised me."

Gathering chakra to her feet,

Firmly anchored atop the snake's head,

Sweating slightly, Anko clutched her injured arm, quickly bandaging it with medical wraps she carried.

Seeing Kurenai forced to dodge repeatedly, she smiled, "But with this, what can you do?"

"Your Genjutsu is useless against venomous snakes that track prey through heat sensors."

"Anko, you're celebrating too early."

Kurenai suddenly stopped.

Ignoring the snake that was lunging towards her.

She smirked.

Unnoticed, her hands had already completed a set of seals.

A series of dazzling, head-sized orbs of lightning.

Appeared out of nowhere in front of Kurenai, hovering there.

The brilliant flashes of lightning were blinding.

At the same time, the high-pitched, shrill crackling sounds.

Made one's teeth ache, and ears throb with pain.

"What?"

Anko squinted her eyes.

She instinctively shielded herself, blocking out the glaring light, "Lightning Style? Since when did Kurenai learn the lightning nature transformation?"

"Chzz... chzz..." Each of the terrifying lightning orbs came speeding towards her.

"Move."

Signaling the snake below to dodge.

It evaded the incoming lightning spheres.

"Whoosh whoosh Whoosh..." Anko unhesitatingly threw a few shuriken at Kurenai's direction.

But Kurenai dodged them.

"Boom! Boom!"

At this moment.

The giant snake displayed astonishing speed, moving faster than its size would suggest.

It barely evaded the oncoming lightning spheres.

Each powerful lightning orb disappeared.

Leaving massive charred craters on the distant ground.

Several trees were obliterated.

The scene was chilling.

"Bam!"

Splinters of wood scattered.

A towering tree was shattered.

The giant snake, relentless and aggressive, charged right at Kurenai.

Yet her form, which should have been struck with broken bones and severe injuries, merely transformed into smoke.

Anko's expression changed.

"When?"

"Release!"

Her face tensed as she formed seals.

Attempting to disrupt her chakra flow to break free from Kurenai's Genjutsu.

"Zzz… zzz…."

Unexpectedly, the giant snake under her began to wail.

Sharp stone spikes, unnoticed until now, had burst forth from the ground.

Piercing its massive body mercilessly.

"Poof…" 

The snake wailed, then turned into smoke and vanished.

And as Anko broke free from the Genjutsu, her vision blurred.

In front of her, a smiling figure had appeared at some point.

She felt a chill against her neck.

A razor-sharp kunai was pressed there.

Her eyes widened in shock.
