chapter 56
The moment I saw what he typed, I punched Shin Heejae—but this time, he blocked it effortlessly with one hand, as if he’d been expecting it. Then, grinning like an idiot, he said:
“You can fix it.”
And then he followed it up with this kind of bullshit:
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CHeejae: Oops, that was supposed to be a secret ㅇ.ㅇ
CHeejae: Please erase from memory ㅇ_ㅇ
I stared at the screen and raised my fist again.
“You call that fixing it, you psycho?!”
“The clan’s good at keeping secrets.”
“Die!”
I lunged at him and tried to choke the life out of him, but it was too late. The damage was done. Even though I tried to salvage things with a few quick messages, the godawful atmosphere didn’t go away.
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CSesam: What’s this idiot saying
CSesam: Shut up with that nonsense
CSesam: There’s nothing between me and that jerk
CSesam: I literally just choked him out
CYeou: Hehe, okay
After Yeou’s awkward reply, the clan chat went dead silent, like everyone had agreed to shut up at the same time. It was infuriating—and humiliating.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, Shin Heejae dashed over to my character and started using that revolting [Fire Love Arrow] emote right next to me.
I immediately countered with [I’ll End You!], slashing at his throat in retaliation, but it did nothing. All I got in return were even more obnoxious emotes—winking, blushing, that sort of crap.
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CUrara: Uh… ㅇㅅㅇ So then… are you guys, like… gay now??
CUrara: Just asking carefully :)
CsvMagicvs: LOLOLOLOL
Of all things, Urara had to pop off with that. My blood pressure skyrocketed. I slammed the keyboard.
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CSesam: Who’re you calling gayㅡㅡ;;
CSesam: And what’s with “carefully” when you just came right out and askedㅡㅡ
CApssal: LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
CDijimong: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
CUrara: So you’re not yet?
CSesam: Of course not
CSesam: Not “yet,” just not, period ㅡㅡ;;
CUrara: Then why’s Shin Heejae acting like that ㅇㅅㅇ??
CUrara: I thought Sesam-nim was a guy? Ha?
I gritted my teeth and replied:
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CSesam: How the hell would I know what that lunatic’s thinking?
And then, Shin Heejae suddenly jumped in.
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CHeejae: Honestly, I was planning to scold them if I caught them ㅇ.ㅇ
CHeejae: But when I saw their face……ㅇ.ㅇ……
CHeejae: I figured there must’ve been a reason ㅇ_ㅇ
I scowled hard at the screen.
And just like that, the clan chat exploded.
[Clan Friend Party Whisper]
CGyeoksal: Ohhh lolol
CFlowerWall: So it was love at first sight......Hehe
CUrara: Heeeehhh??
CBakibug: ㅠㅠㅠㅠShow us tooㅠㅠ
CDijimong: I wanna see
CApssal: ;; Wait??? So they’re hot??
I looked away from the fast-flooding chat and glared at Shin Heejae.
“What the hell are you pulling now?”
Was he seriously trying to manipulate this into some reveal so he could expose my face to the whole clan? The suspicion kicked in hard. But Shin Heejae just rested his chin in one hand and stared at me.
His gaze was intensely uncomfortable.
I stayed silent, not sure what he was planning, but right as I was about to lose patience, he opened his mouth.
“Noona, you’re not gonna start catfishing again just ‘cause you’re cute, right?”
“…What?”
“I mean, now that you’ve gotten a taste of it, you might try it with someone else. That’s what I’m worried about.”
“….”
“I went easy on you, you know. Normally, people get punished for this kind of thing.”
I was so dumbfounded I couldn’t even speak. I had to mentally rewind everything he’d just said and piece it together one word at a time.
‘He… what? Went easy on… what?’
The more I thought about it, the more ridiculous it sounded. The idea that he of all people had the right to give me a warning? That was absolutely absurd.
‘What the hell does this bastard even think I am?’
From what he was saying, you’d think I was some habitual netkama going around seducing dudes like it was a full-time job.
And what really pissed me off was how he had stumbled into my trap entirely by accident. It wasn’t like I crafted some intricate honeytrap to lure him in.
‘The more I think about it, the more infuriating it is.’
Especially considering that my life didn’t start spiraling into hell until he came looking for me.
In other words, I hadn’t gained a single thing from pretending to be a girl. If anything, it had just been one disaster after another—and now this asshole had the nerve to lecture me like I was some kind of manipulative predator? Of course I was angry.
I stared at his smug face, fury boiling over.
‘Oh, so you think you can get away with this just ‘cause I didn’t slap you yet?’
I slammed the desk and stood up. Before Shin Heejae could even react, I lunged and grabbed him by the collar.
“You got a death wish or something?!”
But even as I grabbed him, Shin Heejae remained perfectly calm. In fact, it felt like he’d been waiting for it—because then he leaned in °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° and started threatening me in the gentlest voice imaginable.
“I could tell people you’re a netkama. Not just the clan—everyone.”
“…What?”
“That way, they’ll know to stay away, and you won’t pull any more stunts.”
So he was trying to ruin me in-game.
I wasn’t even mad anymore—I was stunned. Why the hell was he doing this? I hadn’t done anything to deserve this. I even agreed to help him with the siege today, for god’s sake. And this was how he repaid me?
It wasn’t like I expected a thank-you, but this level of betrayal was straight-up staggering.
“You think I’m insane enough to catfish again?!”
I screamed, desperate to make him understand, but Shin Heejae answered in that same smug, infuriating tone:
“If you’re not gonna do it again, then it doesn’t matter if word gets out, right? Either way, you’re not approaching anyone.”
“That’s not the point! Why would I keep playing if I’m just gonna get shit on everywhere I go?!”
“Well, you have to play. Gotta support your husband, don’t you?”
I made another grab for his throat, but just then, Shin Heejae wiped the smirk off his face and added:
“I let it slide once, noona… but if I ever see you flirting with another guy again, I won’t stand for it.”
I stared at him, eyes wide in disbelief.
“You crazy bastard. You really think I’d ever mess around with some dude—”
“Did you think a month ago that you and I would be like this? No, right?”
“Wh…”
I choked on the words. While I was still reeling, Shin Heejae suddenly grabbed me by the waist and yanked me toward him.
I tried to pull away, but he was already burying his face into my stomach. His cheek pressed against me, and I instinctively dug my nails into his neck.
But the bastard didn’t budge. Instead, he stayed latched on, sending disgusting shivers crawling up from my stomach.
“Get off!”
With his lips still against my belly, Shin Heejae mumbled:
“So if you don’t wanna get hated on, just do what I say.”
“You little—! Let go! I swear I’ll kill you!”
I pounded on his shoulder, but he just said it felt good and mocked me for it.
He stayed like that, breathing heavily into my stomach, until I yanked at his hair hard enough to make him finally lift his head. But even then, his expression wasn’t pained—it was delighted.
And then, in the most perverted tone imaginable, Shin Heejae whispered:
“Noona, you smell like me.”
“…What?”
“Maybe it’s ‘cause you used my stuff in the shower.”
The moment I heard that, I shoved him away—harder this time. I barely managed to break free.
Instead of following me, he leaned back in his chair, watching me with a sleazy grin as I stood there flushed and fuming.
“You didn’t think that through at all, did you?”
“What do you think I am, some kind of pervert like you?!”
“Every time I used your stuff at your place… I definitely thought about it.”
“…What?”
That short pause. That tone.
It was unspeakably indecent.
At that moment, I made up my mind: as soon as I got home, I was throwing out all my shampoo and body wash.
While I stood there glaring, Shin Heejae just leaned back in his chair and laughed.
With that infuriating posture, he said:
“Every time you looked at me like that, noona… I got seriously turned on.”
