Null & Void: Journey to Defy the Creator

Chapter 81: Journey Around the World (1)

When they arrived inside the city, Null and Klein were brought inside by one of the guards who upon receiving the charms immediately changed his demeanor.

They were then led to the area where the rest of the kids were gathered, but they could not sit around waiting for lessons on manipulation or practice.

They wanted something more than that.

Klein was a wannabe scientist that had a whole new energy to study and process while Null was an easygoing traveler looking for every opportunity to advance.

They could not settle down at this point.

Klein sought some sort of library where he could find records of manipulation and some documents regarding humanoid meibeasts.

Null on the other hand went to a shopping district to find some more young beasts or the whereabouts of them in the area.

Since they traveled a substantial distance from the village area, he also figured he could buy a map of the area if they had any.

They were strapped for time as Theef and Barter's Ruler could have the ship rebuilt at any time.

Before they could leave however, both Klein and Null had unfinished business to deal with.

After they exited the planet, who knew when they would or even if they would revisit Mamon after they left for the others.

They still had to find Zylo, Muni, Mr. Zolial, and Ms. Florie out there in the massive reaches of the cosmos.

With the level of access that both Klein and Null held as retainers in the making, they were allowed basically wherever they wanted under the protection of the royal family.

The king and queen had never met the two boys, so they had no idea that Gaulin and the rest of the caravan members had not returned with them.

They only knew that after they did return, that would make for the last children from the outside establishments.

Time was ticking as Klein studied tirelessly throughout the entirety of the most distinguished library of the kingdom.

He went from history to bestiaries retaining what he could from each book.

With the help of the mind mofei, he could actually allow himself better processing as a whole compared to others.

With his core being directly connected to his brain, the mind mofei was saturating it more than ever before.

The brain was the anchor of the body and controlled the entirety of its processes; with mind mofei Klein was able to remember more clearly and read faster.

Mind mofei was truly one of the more inexplicable of the mofei as there were too many intricate differences between what each person could produce with it.

Some could tame beasts with little to no issue.

Others could gain the skills of telepathy or telekinesis.

It all depended on how you were naturally wired and how much mofei you could gather instinctively.

With his special core and natural affinity to the mofei, Klein's talents were virtually limitless for the time being.

Unlike the rest of the Imeni's growth rate who had to rely on the natural growth and attunement of their mei veins, a beast's body was more developed for the mofei.

Additionally, to Klein's advantage he was reborn with the blood of the Allbeast and Null's spiritual energy.

He had grown in ability, but now he was stumped with information.

Because of this, every time Klein learned something new about the mofei or about the anatomy of Imeni, or something important regarding Mamon's secrets, he kept inside a large journal he picked up not too long after entering Linomei.

---

On Null's side, the Allbeast had grown to have a staggering dozens of new forms and abilities it could manifest in itself.

With the gradual growth of the number of creatures it could shapeshift into, the Allbeast had also grown in terms of life stages.

From being a juvenile creature, it had aged to become more of an adolescent.

This helped with its communication abilities as before it said sparse words and broken sentences.

Now though, Null questioned the Allbeast as to how exactly it came to be in his possession.

Unfortunately for him, its only response was, "Hungry for more."

It liked to shift into its many forms occasionally, probably to get a feel for each and maintain a sense of comfort as to which forms were most suitable in the moment.

For the most part however, it stayed as the eaglet attached to Null's shoulder.

Its talons were deadly, but somehow, they had yet to destroy the blanket draped over his entire body.

At least while he was on the ship, Theef gave him a spare pair of boxers to cover his naked self.

'I've got to make sure I score some clothes before we leave here,' Null made a mental note.

He really liked the Rainbow Mane blanket as it had yet to let him down in terms of comfort or protection.

Even before when he plunged inside of the Four-Winged Eagle's innards, he had found that none of the mess dirtied it at all.

Truly resilient fashionwear!

He was having a stressless time dealing with the Allbeast though as he would mainly tour the beast shops and beast markets available to boost its growth.

The royal charms were basically the same as free passes wherever he went, so he diligently sightsaw as much of the kingdom as he could to find any noteworthy things or places.

On his search for beast babies, Null found a shadier side of the market.

The black market trades were being conducted in a more secluded area of the kingdom but were no less popular than their counterpart.

With his identity somewhat known by now, the sellers in the black market hawked their beast products to him aggressively.

Null gladly accepted their offers and the Allbeast was no less enthused.

They had some of the more dangerous beasts the world had to offer, so the Allbeast's lethality grew with the time spent in the black market.

He and Klein were no doubt growing in their own ways by using Linomei's properties to their advantage before word got out about their status.

Between Klein's studies and Null's pet's growth, they were slowly but surely lessening their dependence on Mamon's uniqueness.
