Obsession: Albedo’s Desire

Chapter 28: Chapter 27: The Weeping Red Wolf

Moments Ago

Just minutes earlier, he'd been on death's doorstep, with fifteen minutes left to live.

His abdomen and chest had been pulverized, organs mangled and partially spilling out—a gruesome sight. Yet, despite the brutal beating, he harbored no resentment or anger toward the culprit. In Lord Ainz's words, it was akin to, "Lupusregina, I forgive all your sins."

Solution, though irked by her sister raising a hand against her beloved brother, directed her gaze not at Lupusregina but at him. "He's never shown me that sloppy face!" she thought, jealous.

Why? Because he was cradled in Lady Albedo's lap!

Heaven was here, in Albedo's lap. Her gentle strokes through his hair melted his heart, softening his face into blissful daze. How could he resent Lupusregina, who'd opened the gates to this paradise?

Lupusregina, meanwhile, groveled on the floor, finger marks stark on her neck.

The Study

The moment Albedo burst through the study door, she lunged. "What are you doing to what's mine?!"

Her hand shot out, seizing Lupusregina's throat as she stood stunned. Air wheezed out with a squeak.

Would she crush her or slam her down? Had Solution not shouted, "Heal him first!" the newly renovated study would've been ruined again.

Urged on amid violent coughs, Lupusregina restored him. Fully healed and conscious, but too weak to move, he was laid on a chaise lounge far softer than the carpeted floor. Albedo joined him there, offering her lap as a pillow.

Lupusregina's eyes widened at Albedo's tenderness, realizing too late she'd crossed a line.

"This is my treasure. You're always so thoughtless. Act with foresight. Why are you even here?" Albedo's lecture rang with authority.

Kneeling with him, Albedo's stern expression lacked gravitas, softened by her nurturing. Without him there, Lupusregina might've earned a gut punch.

Her actions were undeniable, and as Guardian Overseer, Albedo brooked no defiance. Lupusregina drooped, ears flattened, prostrating in silence.

Albedo, still seething, looped her reprimand twice before granting Lupusregina a chance to explain.

"Y-Yes… I'll speak," Lupusregina stammered.

As she recounted the events, Albedo and Solution's icy stares shifted to him.

Oblivious to their glares, he was lost in thought: Albedo's thighs are so soft, such a sweet scent…

"Guh!" He hit the floor, dislodged from Albedo's lap.

"Sit beside Lupusregina," Albedo commanded.

"Yes, ma'am," he obeyed.

Confused but unable to defy Albedo, he knelt beside Lupusregina. Pointing at his bewildered face, Albedo declared, "You lack delicacy!"

"!?" he gasped.

"Why are you shocked? Lord Ainz and I have told you this repeatedly," Solution thought.

Lupusregina seemed friendly, always smiling, but she was a cruel werewolf who relished tormenting humans. Yet she wasn't reckless enough to attack a stranger unprovoked—especially one Lord Ainz had ordered to "heal if injured."

So why had she struck?

Earlier

"Lupusregina Beta, right? Lord Ainz sent you as a substitute for healing potions?" he asked.

"…You're calling me a potion?" Lupusregina's smile twisted.

She was a high-ranking cleric, far surpassing mere potions in ability.

"My apologies. A first-aid kit, then," he corrected.

"…Oh? So that's how it is? You're looking down on me, huh?" she growled.

"No delicacy, no tact, too blunt, utterly insensitive." Despite impeccable manners—likely drilled by Rana—Albedo's mood soured further at his obliviousness.

He bowed low, absorbing Albedo's wisdom. She had more to say but was pressed for time, mid-work. Ordering him to stay put in three days, she returned to Nazarick. Later, in her chambers, she regretted not saying "tonight" but rushed back to her duties.

Even after Albedo left, the young master remained on his knees.

"How could I… I lacked delicacy…" he muttered.

"What are you saying? Lord Ainz pointed this out already," Solution snapped.

"I thought I was careful," he protested.

"Let's be clear: you're hopeless," Solution said.

It wasn't Solution being harsh; he was genuinely lacking. Long confined and bedridden, his social experience was sorely deficient. There was hope for growth, though.

"I didn't mean to offend Lupusregina, but it seems I did. My apologies," he said.

"No biggie. Man, you're chill, bro!" Lupusregina laughed.

"Am I?" he asked.

"Totally," she nodded.

No trace of resentment for nearly killing him.

Lupusregina, a sadist who loved inflicting pain torturing, healing, then torturing again had never met a human who didn't fear her after such treatment, even fully healed.

"I don't hate that vibe ♪," she chirped.

"Thanks, I guess," he said.

"You're supposed to be thrilled! That's the delicacy Albedo was talking about!" she teased.

"Ugh," he clutched his chest.

She cackled. Initially annoyed, she now found him amusing.

"Let's shake on it, truce!" she offered.

He extended his hand, frowning, prompting more laughter.

"We got scolded by Albedo together. Man, she was terrifying!" Lupusregina said.

Solution froze. Oh no.

Lupusregina hadn't meant it maliciously, but Solution's mind raced. "Be gentle? I'm doing the bare minimum! Does Solution want to stifle Lupusregina's growth? Does she despise her? I thought we were close sisters, but she looks down on her! If others knew… I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please forgive me I know I did wrong. I won't say more." As Lupusregina's beloved sister, Solution spoke up but instantly regretted it.

"Huh?" Lupusregina blinked.

Her offered hand was slapped away. Stunned, then furious, she glared at him.

"What's that for?" she hissed.

"My apologies. I was startled. I never imagined Lupusregina was such a coward," he said.

"…What?" Her glare sharpened.

Killing intent flared, but he only smiled bitterly, continuing, "To think someone as radiant as Albedo could seem frightening what else could I call it but cowardice?"

"Anyone would be scared after that!" Lupusregina snapped, clenching her fists, barely restraining the urge to strike. Only Albedo's recent warning held her back.

"I endured worse from you, yet I'm not frightened. Not only a coward but pain-averse? I heard you're a Pleiades battle-maid, but battle brings pain and fear. Shall I petition to reassign you as a regular maid if you can't handle it?" he taunted.

"For a weak human to talk to me like that…" she growled.

"Weak, frail, human so I should grovel to the strong? I never imagined that. People don't conceive what they can't imagine."

I'm not human, I'm a werewolf! Enough already! she thought.

"Does that mean you grovel to those stronger? Tuck your tail and beg not to be hurt?" he pressed.

Her golden eyes narrowed, pupils contracting, focused solely on crushing him. Albedo's warning was forgotten.

Solution panicked. Lupusregina might kill him. He'd gone too far, and while a lesson might be warranted, Lupusregina's usual sadism was absent—she might strike to kill. Stopping Lupusregina was easier than him; he'd never yield after Albedo's insult.

"You've forgotten Albedo's words. Seems you've made this mistake before. Look, your face changed bullseye. Whose orders did you ignore? Sebas, your Pleiades superior? No, Lord Ainz? Unbelievable… That someone in Nazarick could defy Ainz's commands…" he said.

Lupusregina froze. She hadn't outright disobeyed, but in Carne Village, she'd ignored a crisis, failing to report to Ainz. His wrath haunted her.

"Albedo said you lack foresight. Foolishness can be forgiven, but failing to follow orders? Unable to grasp Ainz's commands, chasing only what's in front of you, blind to the dangers ahead. Do you understand? If you alone leap into danger, fine. But as Nazarick's member, you risk us all. Ainz will act to eliminate threats for you, he'd face danger!" he thundered.

"…Ugh," Lupusregina faltered.

"No way! Lupusregina's crying?!" Solution gaped.

Her shock went unnoticed. Like Solution, Lupusregina relished tormenting others, making her closer to Solution than the serious Narberal or rigid Yuri. Solution thought she knew Lupusregina, but seeing her clench her teeth, tears welling in her wide eyes from rage and regret, was new.

Poor Lupusregina… but teary-eyed Lupusregina is kinda cute, Solution thought, her wicked slime nature surfacing.

"That's why Ainz has high hopes for you!" he continued.

"…Huh?" Lupusregina blinked, tears spilling, unnoticed.

"Carne Village is a frontier hamlet. Not naive enough for saintly legends, but full of simple folk. Too small for you. Ainz urges you to see grander things. Your mistake wasn't praiseworthy, but Ainz surely embraced it with his vast grace. You're his cherished child. He watches your growth with a father's warm gaze," he said.

Another tear fell. He's a devil, no wonder Albedo and Demiurge value him, Solution realized, watching his cunning.

Unlike Shalltear, Lupusregina was beneath Albedo in rank. Albedo and Shalltear's discord was troublesome, but Lupusregina's slight resentment wouldn't matter orders would suffice, channeled through separate chains of command.

He could've pushed harder, but her tears satisfied him. No one insults Albedo here.

"…Ainz expects things from me?" Lupusregina whimpered, like a lost puppy.

He soothed her with eloquent comfort, undeterred by Solution's glare, quoting romance novels she'd assigned. Solution ground her teeth slime or not while he ignored her.

Lupusregina, used to human flattery, found his words healing her cracked heart. Color returned to her pale cheeks, a shy, proud smile blooming. Quick to recover, her carefree nature shone through.

"Got it? Good!" Lupusregina puffed her chest.

Like a crow that cried and flew off though she was a werewolf. Slightly miffed but forgiving, she flashed a mischievous grin, tugging her collar lower.

"Since I caused you trouble, bro, you can cop a feel just a little!" she teased, smirking wickedly.

She expected him to fluster, planning to mock his reaction or feign shock if he dared touch her. Still underestimating him, she was shaped by Carne Village's innocents naive Enri, shy Nfirea, and villagers too awed to approach her. Adventurers' flirtations were hollow.

Fresh off a lecture on shortsightedness, she remained true to form.

Her Pleiades uniform, unlike Narberal's armored style, was a modified maid outfit less ornate but second only to Solution's in allure. The neckline, though not plunging, revealed her collarbone and the gentle curve of her chest. Her ankle-length skirt, slit deeply, nearly bared her panties' edge.

A stunning beauty, Lupusregina's wild charm vivacious, ever-smiling overwhelmed most men. But not him.

"Don't mind if I do," he said.

"Huh?" she froze.

He raised his left hand high, right hand low—not a battle stance, but an "attack" of sorts.

She'd bared her cleavage, implying direct contact (she didn't). Butt's fine too, Six said (she didn't).

"!?" Lupusregina gasped.

His left hand slipped inside her collar, grasping her breast—larger than Narberal's—fingers pinching her delicate nipple. His right hand dove into her skirt's slit, seizing her plump rear, long fingers tracing her cleft.

"~~~~~~~~~~!!!" she shrieked, nearly shaking the soundproofed study.

"What are you doing?!" she yelped, recoiling, clutching her chest, and crouching.

"Are you listening?!" she cried.

He ignored her, staring at his right hand the one that gripped her rear. Slowly, he brought it to his nose.

Gross… Solution recoiled.

That's kinda pervy! Lupusregina thought, oddly pleased.

He wiped his fingers with a handkerchief from his pocket and turned to Solution.

"Order the maids to prepare a bath and fresh clothes," he said.

"I've got plenty to say, but your clothes are ruined. Fine, I'll arrange it," Solution replied.

"Not for me. For Lupusregina," he clarified.

"What?" Solution blinked.

"Me?" Lupusregina gaped.

"Lupusregina had a little ahem accident," he said.

"…Huh?" Solution stared.

Lupusregina realized, clapping her hands over her skirt's front.

"Seems Lupusregina's ahem mishap soiled her clothes. She needs a bath and change, pronto. Don't make me spell it out I've learned delicacy. I won't say what happened to her," he said.

Solution gawked at her sister, trembling, face crimson.

"Lupusregina… did you… wet yourself?" Solution asked.

"WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" Lupusregina wailed.

Lupusregina cried.
