Omnipotent Husband System

Chapter 495: Genius?

Hao Ren stood outside the precipice of the city and was astounded by the view and the magnificence of the place. He didn't take into account the existence of the elder and the young man who were waiting for him to wake up from his reverie.

However, what happened the next moment, shocked the two people, because they sensed something about his aura change. They didn't know what it was but Hao Ren seemed to have become more steady and stable. Actually, the young man had been watching the city and from the layout of the buildings on the ground made him comprehend something.

After an hour, Hao Ren woke up from his enlightenment and shivered a little before he looked around the place and then he found Grandmaster Kar was still waiting for him. The young man cupped his fists and said, "I apologize for my ignorance, Elder. I didn't expect you to wait."

Grandmaster Kar shook his head and said, "It is my pleasure to wait for you, Grandmaster Ren. Otherwise how could I have ever seen how the brain of a genius works."

Hao Ren shook his head and replied, "I am no genius, Grandmaster Kar. Your remarks might cause some disagreement among the people."

The old man chuckled and said, "This is my grandson, Sekai and he is also a Master in artifact refining now. He reached level five three days ago."

Hao Ren looked at the young man and greeted the guy with a smile and said, "Hello."

The young man bowed and replied, "Greetings, Grandmaster Ren."

Hao Ren chuckled, he found that this kid was quite polite. Grandmaster Kar nodded and looking at Hao Ren, he asked, "Shall we get inside the city?"

Hao Ren nodded and replied, "Yes, we should."

The trio descended from the sky and they moved to the gates of the Cauldron Valley. On the way Hao Ren asked, "So, are you also here for the Refining Competition?"

Grandmaster Kar nodded and said, "We have been coming here every few years so that Sekai can interact with young men from his generation, and learn some skills as well. This time he is going to watch the competition and learn about the areas that he lacks."

Hao Ren looked at the young man and found that his expression was not calm and satisfied. He smiled, he said, "Back then I used to be the same, eager to jump in without truly knowing the depth of the stream. Believe me Sekai, if you jump in without knowing much, you will end up washing on the shore."

The young man nodded and asked, "Grandmaster Ren, how can a bird touch the skies if they are not allowed to fly?"

Hao Ren nodded and said, "I agree with you, after all, it is how the world works, but don't you know that only when you have opened your eyes and shed the wet fur are you allowed to take the leap?"

Sekai was stunned, and Hao Ren continued, "Young man, while you might feel like you are ready, believe me, you are lacking a lot."

Hao Ren saw that Sekai was not satisfied with this answer, and the young man smiled and said, "How about you refine your best artifact for me?"

Sekai thought that Hao Ren wanted to flex, and the opinion he had about Hao Ren, diminished a little. Grandmaster Kar also looked at Sekia, wondering what the young man would say, and Sekai nodded.

The procedure to enter the city was simple, because they all were refiners, and they had their badges, Hao Ren also had a golden hammer hanging on his chest, and while the guards were surprised, they were not going to offend the young man by stopping him, plus Grandmaster Kar appeared to be very respectful to this man.

The city was bustling, and the sounds of the hammer pounding down on the metal were lingering in the void. The people were all talking loudly and some were moving through the streets handling their businesses.

Grandmaster Kar said, "Grandmaster Ren, where would you be heading now?"

Hao Ren thought and replied, "I think that going to the Council Tower would be the best option."

The old man thought and said, "Well, then how about we also follow you there and then rent a forging room?"

Hao Ren nodded and replied, "That suits my taste."

As they were walking, Hao Ren looked around and all of a sudden, he stopped and said, "Excuse me."

That said, he approached a derelict stall, where he leaned over and asked, "Shop Owner, how much for this rock?"

The shopkeeper smiled at Hao Ren and said, "Two hundred Spirit stones."

Hao Ren shook his head and said, "This thing is good, but I will not give you two hundred for it. How about you let me take something else along with it and I will give you two hundred."

The shopkeeper looked at him and said, "If you choose something costly than you'll have to pay more."

Hao Ren nodded and then he looked at the black rock on the table as he asked, "Hmmm, this looks like a space rock. How about this one?"

The stall owner nodded and Hao Ren pocketed the two items before the people could guess what it was, and paid the stones before moving away. Sekia frowned, he was now beginning to think that Hao Ren was phony.

They arrived at the refining tower, but instead of a tower, it was like an inverted cauldron resting atop thousands of pillars. As they stepped inside, an attendant walked over to their side, and she asked, "Esteemed elders, how may I help you?"

Grandmaster Kar said, "Can we rent a forging room?"

The attendant smiled and replied, "Yes, please come this way."

The young lady led them all to a desk where she registered the identities and the quality of the forging room these people wanted. She noticed the badge of the grandmaster on the chest of the young man and she frowned. However, suddenly she recalled how there were techniques used by the people to retain their youths. She frowned and snorted slightly after the trio walked behind the closed doors.

Hao Ren sighed and said, "Start."

Sekai nodded and then he went to the furnace and then used his spiritual energy to ignite a flame, and took out some metals from his space ring, and after a few minutes, the furnace was ready and Sekai began to refine a spear. His actions were standard but they were too monotonous.

The young man watched the process for a couple of hours, before Hao Ren asked, "Do you think this is the best that you can make?"

Sekai was surprised, and opened his eyes wide, as he asked, "What do you mean?"

Hao Ren sighed and said, "You are a grade five Master. Yet, you cannot tell that your cauldron was not as hot as it should have been. Why?"

Sekai wanted to reply, but the next moment, Hao Ren said, "The lack of heat left behind impurities in the shaft. Check it."

Sekai was shocked and then he looked properly at the shaft before Hao Ren said, "The spearhead is skewed by the thickness of two hair. If it collides at high speed, the impact can break it apart and if that happened in a battle, what do you think would be the result for the guy who was using this weapon you made?"

Sekai shivered and then he looked at his grandfather with great shock. Hao Ren said, "Your grandfather insisted that you take constructive criticism and improve yourself. However, you have been growing impatient. It is not your fault that you are impatient, but you need to understand that only when you have learned enough before you could go outside and try to swim across the river."

After hearing this, Sekai shivered and then he took a few deep breaths before he bowed and replied, "Thank you for your guidance, Grandmaster Ren."

Hao Ren waved his hand and then said, "I will be refining my own artifact, if you wish to see, then feel free."

Then he took out the black stone that he had bought from the market, and then he waved his hand to create flames under the furnace. The metals were thrown inside and smelted slowly before he took them out and held the blob on the anvil and began to rain down his hammer on the metal. The entire place was trembling from the ripples that appeared in the void followed by the hammer falling on the blob of metal.

Grandmaster Kar was shocked, he finally understood how terrifying Hao Ren was, and Sekai, well he was shivering as he saw the entire process of forging, how deliberately Hao Ren controlled his hammer to remove the impurities and how he used his spiritual energy to retain the heat in the metal.

While Hao Ren was refining the artifact, on the top floor of the Refining Council, an old man opened his eyes and mumbled, "Hmmm, a good talent has appeared, let's see who this is."
