Once a mobster, now Masachika Kuze

Chapter 78: This world... is lost

"Today, I need to be perfect! So perfect it'll take his breath away!"

Yuki stood in front of her wardrobe, tossing clothes around like a fabric storm, searching for the ideal outfit. Clothes piled up on the bed in increasing chaos until she stopped when she spotted a beige, strapless knit dress.

"This looks good..." she murmured with a smug smile.

For a few seconds, she held onto her confidence, but soon her cheeks began to flush, and she covered her face with her hands.

"What am I doing? Why am I getting all dolled up... for my brother?!"

A brief silence filled the room until something shimmered in her peripheral vision. Fishnet stockings. Daring. She couldn't resist and picked them up, analyzing the accessory with a new smile, now full of discreet mischief.

When she finished getting ready, Yuki stood before the mirror, impeccable. The beige dress fell elegantly, outlining her silhouette while leaving her shoulders exposed. A black bow at the waist added a touch of classic charm, while subtle ruffles at the hem, accompanied by a layer of black lace, created a lovely contrast.

On her legs, the fishnet stockings brought a provocative balance to the look, and the black knee-high boots, with metallic details and crisscrossed laces, exuded confidence. A thin choker with a heart-shaped pendant completed the look, catching the light and shimmering softly.

Yuki admired her image in the mirror, trying to convince herself.

"We've already kissed, skipped about 300 chapters of romance... I don't need to be nervous, right?"

But the courage dissipated in seconds, and she threw herself on the bed, covering her face with her hands.

"I'm going crazy!"

She started punching the mattress as her thoughts shot off like bullets in all directions.

"This is absurd! My God, how did I end up in this situation? This is too hentai to be real life!"

Rolling on the bed, she stopped suddenly, frowning.

"And people still say that Yosuga no Sora was impossible... Haaaaa!"

Getting up with an exaggerated sigh, Yuki faced the mirror again, adjusting her hair.

"But... he's not just my brother, right? He travels back in time! Nobody has a brother who travels back in time... and kisses his sister..."

She threw herself back on the bed, now staring at the ceiling.

"Oh God, this isn't fair. He was already irresistible before. How does he expect me to control myself now? Divine judgment will fall on me!"

Clenching her fists, she got up again, grabbing her purse. As she checked the contents, she murmured:

"Lipstick, some money... My cell phone..."

Suddenly, she turned red. An idea crossed her mind like lightning.

"Should I bring protection?"

The slap she gave her own thigh echoed through the room.

"What are you thinking, Yuki?! It's just a normal date!"

She looked away, almost answering herself.

"Yeah, but he almost took my clothes off that day... Masachika, you scoundrel..."

As soon as she said his name, Yuki froze, remembering something important.

"Wait a minute! He said he had another name before... What was it? Ryan? Ryan Gosling?! No... that's not right."

Scratching her head, she began to walk in circles.

"But I'm so used to calling him Masachika... or, most of the time, Onii-chan... Oh my God. What's it going to be like if I yell 'Onii-chan' in the middle of the street and he kisses me afterward?!"

She stopped in place, stamping her foot on the floor, her face burning.

"YUKI, STOP THINKING ABOUT KISSING YOUR BROTHER!"

She took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure.

"You know what? Who am I kidding? Maybe I should buy some condoms..."

Yuki put her hands on her waist, as if she had decided something important, but the moment of self-confidence didn't last.

"My God, I've become a pervert..."

Sitting on the bed, this time more serious.

"I just don't know what to do... That was so sudden... I didn't even think about the consequences. And it was me who asked him out on a date."

Sighing deeply, she began to speak like a child who didn't want to go to school:

"Damn... I really wish I knew what was going on in his heeeead..."

Before she could sink further into her own thoughts, a knock on the door brought her back to reality.

"Yuki-sama, the car is waiting for you."

She jumped on the bed, completely surprised.

"A-ah! Right! I'm coming!"

Trying to appear composed, Yuki left the room and walked to the entrance. In the hallway, she met her grandfather, Gensei Suou, wearing an impeccable suit and displaying his typical serious expression.

"Good morning, Grandpa," she said, bowing politely.

Gensei replied in his deep, firm voice:

"I will take you to your destination."

Yuki's nervous smile appeared immediately.

"A-ah! You don't have to bother, I can go alone—"

Gensei interrupted, with no patience for excuses.

"Let's go. I have an important meeting after this."

Yuki's heart sank, her mind plunged into thoughts.

"DAMN IT! He's already found out about me and Ryan!"

Swallowing hard, she followed her grandfather to the car. To her surprise, Gensei decided to drive himself. He got into the driver's seat and indicated that she should take the front passenger seat.

"This is the end..." Yuki thought, resigned.

Trying to appear confident, she murmured:

"Thank you for the ride, Grandpa. Are you sure you don't prefer to call the driver?"

He denied with a short nod, adjusting his seatbelt.

"Yuki, I've always believed that doing things personally brings better results. And besides, a car that costs millions shouldn't be driven by just anyone."

She forced a polite smile as she thought:

"Why is he in such a good mood? This is suspicious..."

As the mansion gates opened, Gensei spoke without taking his eyes off the road:

"Yuki... There's something I want to discuss with you."

Yuki's world seemed to collapse.

"I knew it! I knew something was wrong! I hope Ryan goes back in time before I'm disinherited or killed!"

Even with her thoughts in complete chaos, Yuki responded with the greatest serenity she could feign:

"Of course, what do you wish to talk about?"

Gensei, direct as always, blurted out:

"About you and your brother."

Yuki's heart leaped, stumbled, and almost stopped. For a moment, she considered opening the car door and running away, or maybe looking for a weapon in the glove compartment. Taking a deep breath, she responded with the intonation of a child caught in mischief:

"D-Did something happen, Grandpa?"

Although her voice sounded calm, inside she was screaming desperately.

Gensei glanced at her, narrowing his eyes, and asked:

"What do you really think about your brother?"

Yuki felt like she had been punched in the stomach. "He already knows! I'm going to be disinherited!" her mind screamed in panic. With ragged breathing, she replied with a fragile attempt at normalcy:

"W-what exactly are you talking about, Grandpa?"

Gensei, impassive, continued:

"Don't you think there's something... special about him?"

Yuki ran her hand over her face, as if fixing her hair, but actually wiping the cold sweat that was dripping down. Her answer came out haltingly:

"W-well... Onii-chan has always been a prodigy... I think..."

Gensei's analytical gaze followed her from the corner of his eye. Inwardly, he pondered:

"Yuki... You're not thinking the same thing I am, are you?"

After a long sigh, he said, in a surprisingly calm tone:

"Yuki, you don't need to fear. I won't judge you for being on his side."

For an instant, Yuki froze, eyes wide and skin pale.

"What?"

"I won't judge you for being with him," Gensei repeated, before adding, "But that's not exactly what I want to talk about."

As he drove, he maintained his serious posture and his gaze focused on the road. The tension mounted in the silence, until he questioned:

"On a scale of grandeur, where ordinary humans are the starting point and something much greater is the apex, where would you place your brother?"

The sound of his firm hands on the steering wheel seemed to echo through the car, as his voice grew deeper and heavier.

Yuki tilted her head, her thoughts spinning at high speed. "Does he know about Onii-chan's powers? I'd better avoid giving anything away directly... I can't cause trouble for him."

Taking a deep breath, she replied with calculated calm:

"Well... I think he's the most incomparable person I've ever met."

She looked away, out the window, watching the city go by quickly.

"And I'm sure you already know that too, Grandpa."

As she finished, she felt a little calmer, her thoughts now more organized. "Why was I so worried? Onii-chan really is amazing..."

Gensei remained silent for a moment, before resuming, in a less serious tone:

"I understand... But there's still something I need to tell you."

Yuki raised her eyebrows curiously as he continued:

"Your brother has agreed to take over the leadership of the Suou family."

The revelation was like a blow. Yuki's heart raced again, and her posture slumped for an instant.

"A-are you serious?"

The surprise was evident in her voice, but she quickly recomposed her expression, trying not to appear so shaken.

"Did he decide that himself?"

Gensei nodded, the somber look reflected in his words:

"The Suou family needs a worthy heir to face the storms that are approaching. Your brother has decided to resume the position that was once his, in exchange for my contacts to achieve certain personal goals."

Yuki tilted her head thoughtfully. "So he chose this on his own? I guess it's not so bad... After all, he can go back in time and change any decision. If he made this choice, it must be because he believed it was the best."

Yuki looked out, realizing that the city center was already close.

"You can leave me here, Grandpa. It's not far from where he'll be waiting for me."

Gensei maneuvered the car into a nearby parking space and parked. As soon as she got out, Yuki immediately attracted attention. Her beauty was striking, even more so when she got out of such a luxurious car.

She turned to her grandfather, bowing politely before carefully closing the door. Gensei lowered the window and, to her surprise, gave a smile — something rare coming from him.

"A pure blood will be a great blessing for this family, but you are still too young to get pregnant. Use protection."

Before Yuki could process the comment, he rolled up the window and calmly drove off, leaving her motionless, a frozen smile on her face.

"That... is not my grandfather..."

Still taking in the situation, something on the other side of the street caught her eye. With her eyes fixed, she soon noticed a small group of girls laughing and talking to... her dear brother.

Ryan was impeccable. The black dress shirt fit him perfectly, paired with tailored pants and white shoes that gleamed in the daylight. On his wrist, an expensive watch completed the impeccable look.

Yuki clenched her fists, irritation growing in her voice as she muttered:

"Who are those busybodies hitting on my Onii-chan!?"

In the middle of the conversation, Ryan smiled with his usual tranquility, even surrounded by girls who seemed to spare no effort to get his attention. One of them, laughing exaggeratedly, insisted:

"You should come with us. We're going to have fun!"

Ryan, however, responded with disconcerting sincerity:

"Sorry, girls, but I already have a date. With my sister."

The statement made them pause, exchanging surprised glances. One of the girls tried to hide her embarrassment, laughing:

"Haha! You're so funny!"

At that very moment, Yuki decided to intervene. With a sweet voice and blatant sarcasm, she interrupted them:

"Oniiiiii-chan! Sorry I'm late!"

The group turned to Yuki, who looked like she had stepped out of a fashion magazine. Her hair was shining, and her dress highlighted her natural beauty in a dazzling way.

Ryan smiled, amused by the situation, and commented with a provocative tone:

"You made me wait a long time, Yuki."

She approached quickly, grabbing his arm naturally. With the same sarcasm in her tone, she replied:

"Oh, I'm sorry, Onii-chan... But I know exactly how to make it up to you."

Before any of them could react, Yuki leaned in and gave Ryan a quick peck on the lips, leaving the girls dumbfounded.

Ryan and Yuki began to walk away, arms intertwined, as one of the gyarus murmured, incredulous:

"This world... is lost."
