Chapter 13: History of the Island
I looked at Usopp. "So, you know anything about this island? Do you know the history of this place since you live here?"
Usopp shook her head. "I don't know much about this island itself, but I do know that we've been an easy target for pirates to raid and pillage." He looked at the assassin's gear that I was wearing.
Luffy nodded. "We won't do that to you. We're just looking around."
"Looking around huh?" Usopp tilted his head. "You are an odd mix. A thief, an assassin, a swordsman, and well I don't know what to call you."
Luffy smiled big. "I'm the captain of this group. I ate a Devil Fruit, which made me rubbery."
A breeze blew through the trees, making me stiff and my hand instinctively went to my sword. I closed my eyes, listening to how the wind was carrying itself. Stepping back from the group, I moved my feet toward the noise coming from behind me and stretched my arm, holding my sword to let the wind guide me.
Usopp looked at the others. "Is she ok?"
Zoro nodded and smiled. "She's letting the wind guide her, it's what's called Wind Dancing."
"Wind Dancing? It's interesting to watch."
I opened my eyes. "Voices are coming over in that direction."
Usopp looked at me with a mix of shock and horror. "Can you tell if they're a child or adult?"
"Do you ask the wind how it moves? Or why Mother Nature has her moods? My ears have never failed me."
Nami went to say something but stopped and looked in the direction that my arm was directed. She knew what that meant. Danger.
Zoro also followed my sword. "What is it, Pretty Kitty?" He paused.
I opened my eyes slowly. "We're not alone. There are others on this island. Neither citizen nor pirate. Nor are they bounty hunters. Which leaves one other group. Assassins. The ship that was following us from our previous location to his one."
Luffy looked at me in horror. "Assissians? Who are they after?"
"The government knows about the bounty on my head. They sent two of the Order. It's sad to know that what we've become are glorified body guards. The training we endured was harsh, but to send an assassin after one is just cruel."
Luffy nodded. "So, what do we do?"
I looked at him. "You don't do anything. The fight is about to start, doesn't involve any of you."
"ARE YOU SERIOUS, KAT! LET US HELP YOU." Nami shouted.
I put my blade away. "No. There is nothing that you can do." With that, I headed in the direction of the voices.
