Chapter 374: You're a Disgrace to the Marine!

Red Line, Holy Land Marijoa.

Tap, tap, tap!

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the chaotic battlefield as a group moved purposefully in one direction, weaving through the danger.

Whoosh!

Boom!

The leader, Vice Admiral Kizaru, lazily raised a finger, unleashing a brilliant laser that obliterated the demons blocking their path. The explosion roared, tearing the shadowy creatures apart, their fragments scattering before slowly beginning to reform.

Unfazed, Kizaru swaggered forward, hands in his pockets, leading the group toward the marine reinforcements. Behind him, a cluster of nobles followed closely, their faces pale with fear, they were desperate not to fall behind.

It was clear Kizaru had struck a deal with these aristocrats. Not only that, but their group had grown larger along the way, picking up more stragglers seeking safety.

As a Marine, Kizaru considered it his duty to save lives, especially those of these well-fed nobles. Truly, his heart was just too kind.

Or so he told himself, smirking inwardly as he strolled along.

Boom!

Elsewhere on the battlefield, Admiral Sengoku unleashed his Conqueror's Haki, a force capable of shattering mountains. It clashed violently with the thunder-wreathed mace of one of the Four Emperors, Kaido of the Beast.

Their attacks didn't make direct contact, but the collision sent terrifying shockwaves rippling outward. The air trembled, lightning crackled at the point of impact, and shimmering light danced like flowing water in the void.

As their clash grew fiercer, Sengoku's fist and Kaido's mace inched closer.

Whoosh!

A piercing screech rang out as their forces reached their peak. The ground beneath them churned like a stormy sea.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The earth quaked relentlessly. Streets cracked, boulders shattered, and nearby buildings crumbled under the strain. Massive shockwaves collided, erupting skyward in a spectacular explosion.

Their battle altered the sky, but with the heavens already a chaotic mess from the clash of gods above, it barely drew attention.

Boom!

In the end, Sengoku's iron fist sent Kaido hurtling backward. Though Kaido had grown stronger, he still fell short against Sengoku's might. But his growth was rapid, this brutal era was pushing him to close the gap quickly.

Having repelled Kaido, Sengoku's sharp gaze shifted to another scene.

He spotted Kizaru approaching, trailed by about twenty figures draped in luxurious clothing.

What the hell is Borsalino up to?

Sengoku's brow furrowed. Kizaru had arrived at Marijoa not far from him. During his fight with Kaido, he'd taken a moment to order Kizaru to support the Five Elders. Kizaru had agreed without hesitation.

Yet here he was, back so soon, escorting a gaggle of pampered nobles.

Boom!

Sengoku leapt, landing near Kizaru in a single bound.

Kizaru, seeing Admiral Sengoku drop from the sky, felt a headache brewing. He'd deliberately taken a longer route to avoid this, but Sengoku had tracked him down. Can't he just stick to his fight?

"Borsalino, what are you doing?" Sengoku questioned in sharp tone.

"Ah! Admiral Sengoku!" Kizaru feigned surprise, as if only now noticing him. "I'm saving lives! As a Marine, every life is precious to me."

Sengoku's eyes narrowed, unconvinced by Kizaru's righteous tone. "Supporting the Five Elders and the allied kings is the top priority. Don't get your tasks mixed up."

"Of course, I'm almost done here," Kizaru replied smoothly. "I'll head to support them as soon as I get these people to safety."

As Kizaru spoke, the nobles beside him trembled, their faces etched with terror.

Sengoku, you came back, and brought that monster with you?!

"Worororo! Admiral Sengoku, your punches are too weak! Hit me harder!" Kaido's booming laughter shook the sky.

With a wild grin, Kaido swung his mace toward Sengoku and Kizaru, the blow shattering the air itself.

Boom!

Sengoku met Kaido head-on, their clash sending another shockwave sweeping across the battlefield.

"Yasakani Sacred Jewel!"

Seizing the moment, Kizaru unleashed his signature move. Countless light projectiles rained down on Kaido, hammering his massive frame like a barrage from a Gatling gun. The unprecedented firepower blasted Kaido far into the distance.

"Phew!" Kizaru exhaled, glancing at Kaido's retreating figure, then at the nobles sprawled on the ground, unharmed.

'Admiral Sengoku just dropped a huge problem on me! If those nobles had been caught in the crossfire, this whole detour would've been for nothing.'

"Borsalino, you…" Sengoku's face darkened, a vein pulsing on his forehead.

In past wars, whether the Evil War or the Death Island War, Kizaru had never unleashed such ferocious firepower right out of the gate. This sudden intensity? He was definitely pocketing bribes.

Normally laid-back, now he's all business?

This guy's a disgrace to the Marine!

"Borsalino…" Sengoku's voice was hoarse, heavy with suspicion.

Kizaru caught Sengoku's piercing stare and knew he was in trouble. Sure enough, Sengoku's next words hit like a bombshell.

"I want fifty percent."

"Haha, Admiral Sengoku, what're you talking about? I don't follow!" Kizaru chuckled awkwardly, trying to play dumb.

"I want fifty percent," Seeing Sengoku still repeating this somewhat funny sentence with a serious face.

Kizaru's playful grin faltered. No use pretending, Sengoku saw right through him. No point hiding it now.

"Twenty percent," Kizaru offered, testing the waters.

"Fifty percent."

"Thirty percent."

"Fifty percent."

"Forty percent, Admiral Sengoku, don't go too far."

Kizaru could only feel his heart bleeding.

Sengoku felt the breath of Kaido coming back again, and finally nodded seriously.

As Sengoku strode fearlessly toward Kaido, Kizaru's face contorted. That old geezer has the nerve to look righteous? I hope Kaido blows his head off.

He cursed Sengoku silently in his heart.

Kizaru's usual laid-back swagger vanished as he shouted at the nobles sprawled on the ground in a sharp tone filled with irritation.

"Get up! Move faster!"

"Oh, oh!" the nobles stammered in unison.

Scrambling to their feet, they moved with a speed they hadn't known they possessed, as if their lives depended on it, because they did. They had overheard the exchange between Kizaru and Admiral Sengoku, and the realization thrilled them.

If even an Admiral like Sengoku was taking a cut of the deal, their safety was practically guaranteed. Better yet, this could be their chance to forge connections with two of the Marine's heavyweights, Vice Admiral Kizaru and Admiral Sengoku. In this chaotic era, aligning with top-tier fighters like these Marines was a golden opportunity for nobles.

After all, it felt like the Marine's Sun God, King, loomed larger than the World Government itself right now. If there was ever a time to cling to powerful allies, it was now.
