Chapter 410: CHAPTER 410: The Calm Before the Storm

"I'm not interested in getting in your way, Kizaru, but as long as you don't interfere with my next plan, that would be ideal," Mio said coolly, his golden eyes narrowing.

Kizaru sneered, his usual lazy expression masking the tension beneath.

This time, he had come alone to the Sabaody Archipelago.

His mission: eliminate the new generation of pirates heading to the New World. This was all part of the preparation for the upcoming execution of Ace.

Although the connection seemed indirect, Sengoku believed that after such a war, the reckless nature of these young pirates would only create more chaos. To avoid complications, Sengoku had personally sent Kizaru to clean up the supernovas of this year.

Of course, the unusually high number of supernovas this year only added to the Navy's concerns.

But more importantly, Kizaru's secondary objective was to observe the Sabaody Archipelago for any signs of the Whitebeard Pirates. If he found any, he was to monitor them closely—and possibly exploit the situation.

After all, war between the Navy Headquarters and the Whitebeard Pirates loomed on the horizon.

As an admiral, Kizaru was well aware of the stakes.

While the threat posed by the Whitebeard Pirates wasn't as suffocating as that of the Black Crow Pirates, it was still formidable. Vigilance was critical.

But now, with the Black Crow Pirates arriving at Sabaody, Kizaru's stress level had skyrocketed.

He had no chance of defeating Mio and his crew alone—not even an admiral could stand against the Black Crow Pirates at full strength.

"Just thinking about it gives me a headache…" Kizaru muttered.

With a flash of golden light, his figure vanished.

Mio smirked faintly, then turned his attention to Asuka. "Go. Don't let the Straw Hat boy die… but if Bartholomew Kuma wants to deal with them, don't interfere."

"Yes, captain."

Asuka's eyes glinted as he nodded. In an instant, his figure disappeared, and an immense wave of Observation Haki spread out, covering the entire Sabaody Archipelago.

A trace of anticipation flickered across Mio's face. The corners of his mouth curved into a sharp grin as he reached for his Den Den Mushi and dialed a number.

The line connected almost immediately.

"Get ready to move," Mio ordered.

"Yes, sir," came a deep, steady voice from the other end.

Mio hung up and picked up another Den Den Mushi, dialing again.

"Tell those fools to prepare. I've waited over ten years for this chance. If any of them mess up now…" Mio's voice grew colder, laced with murderous intent. "…I'll personally send them to hell."

A pleasant voice responded from the Den Den Mushi. "Understood, Captain Mio. I'll also keep an eye on the D clan. If all goes well, I've already found the nest of those insects."

"Good." Mio's tone softened slightly as he hung up.

Stretching lazily, he let out a deep breath and smirked. "Alright, let's go find a tavern. I want to sit down, have a drink, and wait for the fireworks to begin… hahahahaha!"

With a resounding laugh, Mio led the Black Crow Pirates toward the heart of the Sabaody Archipelago.

The mere presence of the Black Crow Pirates sent ripples of fear across the archipelago.

"Huh? Black Crow?!"

In a busy restaurant, a girl with long pink hair wearing suspenders and hot pants paused mid-bite, her pretty face twisting in surprise.

"That monster's here? Is he going back to the New World? Doesn't matter. As long as we don't cross him, we're fine. The one to really watch out for is Kizaru. Tell the others to stay sharp."

The girl was none other than Big Eater Jewelry Bonney, captain of the Bonney Pirates and one of the rare female supernovas. Her bounty stood at 140 million berries.

Judging by the piles of empty plates around her, she had been feasting for quite a while.

"Captain, this is bad!"

In another part of Sabaody, a pirate reported frantically to a tall man with long blond hair. "Not only has an admiral arrived, but also the legendary Black Crow! We need to run, fast!"

"Yes! The admiral is bad enough, but the Black Crow… that's a monster even the Navy fears."

"If the Black Crow Pirates decide to act, they could destroy everyone on Sabaody in less than half an hour!"

The man listened calmly, shuffling a deck of cards in his hand.

He was tall and slender, with six distinct vertical lines etched across his forehead. As he drew a single card and studied its pattern, his brow furrowed.

"Extremely dangerous," he murmured.

"Let's move. We're leaving the Sabaody Archipelago immediately."

The man stood.

This was Basil Hawkins, captain of the Hawkins Pirates and one of the supernovas with a bounty of 249 million berries—second only to Kidd and Luffy.

But as he stepped outside, he was greeted by a wall of Marine soldiers and even a Pacifista.

"One of the supernovas! Basil Hawkins, bounty 249 million berries!" a Marine officer shouted. "You're surrounded! Surrender now!"

Elsewhere on Sabaody:

Wherever a supernova appeared, the Navy was there to corner them.

Area 13. Outside Shaqi's Bar.

A flash of golden light signaled Kizaru's arrival.

He looked at the Straw Hats preparing to leave and smirked. His gaze shifted to Rayleigh, whose long silver hair shimmered in the sunlight.

"Rayleigh… so scary. I didn't expect to run into the vice-captain of the Roger Pirates here. What a headache," Kizaru said lazily.

"As an old man, I can't stand by and watch these rookies die on Sabaody," Rayleigh replied with a wry smile, drawing his sword. "I'll be your opponent for now. Be gentle, though—I'm not as young as I used to be."

"I wouldn't say I'm confident facing a living legend," Kizaru replied casually, though his eyes sharpened slightly.

His gaze swept over the Straw Hats. He wasn't particularly interested in dealing with them—someone else could handle that. For now, his focus was on Rayleigh.

Suddenly—

Swish!

A blade flashed as Rayleigh attacked, forcing Kizaru to block.

"Go! Get out of here while you can!" Rayleigh called over his shoulder to Luffy and his crew. "The Sabaody Archipelago isn't safe today."

"Thank you!" Luffy shouted back, clutching his straw hat tightly as he and his crew sprinted away.

"Luffy! We need to find someone to coat the ship or we'll never make it to Fishman Island," Nami said urgently.

"Rayleigh gave me an address for that earlier," Luffy replied.

"Then let's hurry before the Navy finds us again!"

But before they could get far—

Boom!

A massive figure appeared in their path.

"Where are you planning to go?"

Bartholomew Kuma's calm voice cut through the chaos. Holding his Bible in one hand, he raised the other, preparing to strike.

Meanwhile, explosions and screams echoed across Sabaody. Pirates ran through the streets as Marines pursued them relentlessly.

In a tavern, Mio sat comfortably with a bottle of wine in hand. The Black Crow Pirates had cleared out the place simply by walking in.

Mio took a long swig and grinned. "Ace's execution… it's tomorrow, isn't it?"

"Yes, Captain," Lilith replied, handing him a newspaper confirming the date.

Mio's grin widened as he scanned the headlines.

"The Flame-Flame Fruit… the Tremor-Tremor Fruit… both tempting prizes. But it's not my turn yet. I'll wait until next time," Mio said softly, placing the paper down.

His golden eyes gleamed coldly. "Tell Renee to remind our allies: avoid detection by the World Government. The war at Marineford will mark the beginning of our war against them."

A chilling smile spread across Mio's face as he spoke.

He had waited over ten years for this moment, preparing relentlessly.

The Black Crow Pirates were now home to two world-class fighters.

Asuka stood above admiral level, just shy of world-class strength. The likes of Baifeng, Lilith, Noah, Hei Yan, Xiaoqi and his siblings, and Mashi—all of them were now at admiral or near-admiral levels.

The crew's power had grown tremendously over the years, evolving from vice admiral-level strength to a force that even the Navy feared.

And yet… Mio knew victory over the World Government was not guaranteed. Their power was deep and unfathomable.

But this was his only chance.

The coming war at Marineford wasn't just Whitebeard's war.

It was the spark that would ignite Mio's own rebellion.

"This is the only window to strike. If I miss it, there won't be another," Mio murmured to himself, his voice calm but filled with deadly resolve.
