Chapter 95: The seas are in an uproar, across-the-board bounty updates

After the deal was struck, Teach immediately led the Blackbeard Pirates straight for Beehive Island.

They were some distance away and would need at least two or three days to arrive.

In that span, the pirates on Beehive Island not only fled en masse but also sold every photo they had taken on the island to the World Economy News Paper.

Soon, the news that the Puncture Duke Pirates, together with their affiliate the Kuja Pirates, had seized Beehive Island and utterly routed the Wang Zhi Pirates spread across the world.

Before the commotion over the Blackbeard Pirates being crushed by the Whitebeard remnants had even cooled, the seas were roaring again.

Since the dissolution of the Rocks Pirates, the Wang Zhi Pirates had formed alongside the Whitebeard Pirates, the Flying Pirates, and the Big Mom Pirates. As a silver-medal powerhouse of the last era—second only to the Roger Pirates, the Whitebeard Pirates, and the Flying Pirates—they stood as a dominant force.

With the Riki Riki no Mi, master-swordsman technique, all three colors of Haki, and advanced Armament Haki, Wang Zhi outmatched old comrades, seized his former captain's Beehive Island, and held a bounty of 2,188,000,000 berries.

That terrifying power—shattering mountains at range, crushing anything up close, every punch and kick splitting land—was enough that even Emperors preferred not to provoke him.

His three chief lieutenants were each as troublesome as the top officers of a Yonko crew.

In any era, the Wang Zhi Pirates were among the great pirate crews.

After Whitebeard's death, Wang Zhi was one of the strongest contenders to become the fourth Emperor.

Now, a great pirate crew second only to the Emperors—ruling one part of the sea—had been defeated by the newly arrived Puncture Duke Pirates, who had only just entered the New World, and they had done it with zero casualties.

If that isn't a rout, what is.

Crushing a great pirate crew, even with elements of a lightning strike and ability advantage, was something even Yonko crews had rarely achieved.

In the aftermath, intel on the abilities of Nami and Yafilandora and others exposed during the battle landed on the desks of the world's major powers.

The next day the Marines issued new wanted posters for the Puncture Duke Pirates.

It was still bounties for the entire crew. Link and the others saw explosive increases, and two new faces appeared.

Puncture Duke Link, bounty 3,234,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, bounty 1,892,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Ten Thousand Thunder Nami, bounty 1,050,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Nine-Tailed Fox Karina, bounty 533,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Ghost Princess Perona, bounty 500,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Voidwalker Nojiko, bounty 453,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Doctor of Death Yafilandora, bounty 436,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Arrow of Destruction Marguerite, bounty 400,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Vivi, bounty 300,000,000 berries, capture alive only.

Devil Child Nico Robin, bounty 200,000,000 berries, dead or alive.

Except for Shirahoshi, both Yafilandora and Marguerite were now wanted, and Link's crew saw their bounties skyrocket.

Link's increase was the greatest, directly absorbing Wang Zhi's bounty and leaping from 1,046,000,000 to 3,234,000,000 berries.

Hancock jumped from 80,000,000 to 1,892,000,000, second only to Link in sheer leap.

When the World Government abolished the Seven Warlords, the Marines had prepared to issue a new bounty for Hancock.

Because she had made few moves, they were unsure of her true strength.

Now they understood Hancock very well.

Two of the Wang Zhi Pirates' three chiefs were petrified, and the third was covered in petrification cracks.

With power and feats like that, and a nearly unanswerable Devil Fruit, Hancock's bounty surpassed Marco, King the Wildfire, and Charlotte Katakuri.

Of course, beyond strength there was a major factor behind Hancock's figure.

As the Empress of Amazon Lily and captain of the Kuja Pirates, even without affiliating with Link she would be a multi-billion-berry great pirate.

With her affiliation to Link removed, her bounty was higher than in the original timeline.

Although Link's crew did not announce it, the world was certain that Hancock was the vice-captain of the Puncture Duke Pirates.

Besides Link and Hancock, the largest jump belonged to Nami.

Her epithet changed to her debut technique's name, and her bounty vaulted from 50,000,000 to 1,050,000,000 berries, an increase of a full billion.

Nami's feats were simply too shocking.

At last revealing the natural-type Goro Goro no Mi, she bombarded Beehive Island with a storm of lightning. Even without directly clashing with or defeating one of the three chiefs, she still rose by a billion, reaching the level of a Yonko crew's top officer.

Nami's appearance also made the world realize that the Puncture Duke Pirates' three chiefs were not just Karina and Hancock plus that unidentified pink dragon.

The Goro Goro no Mi user was one of the three chiefs.

Hence Karina's bounty did not soar quite as wildly.

The same held for Perona and Nojiko.

By contrast, first-time bounties for Yafilandora and Marguerite exceeded those of Kid, Luffy, and the other Supernovas.

With the Ope Ope no Mi and the Moa Moa no Mi, they became extremely dangerous figures.

It was clear the Devil Fruits had been taken by Blackbeard from Bandy World and Trafalgar Law.

Even the least documented Vivi now possessed the Suna Suna no Mi, obviously seized from Crocodile.

In that moment, the Five Elders finally understood why, the instant Marshall D. Teach became a Warlord, Link had called him.

Back then, the two had joined hands.

A crew of eleven, ten of them wanted, with a combined bounty just shy of nine billion.

Other than Nico Robin, every member was a top-tier ability user.

With such a lineup and such feats, the Puncture Duke Pirates once again became famous worldwide, eclipsing the Blackbeard Pirates who had just been routed by the Whitebeard remnants, and became the hottest candidate to rise as the fourth Emperor.

If not for their territory being insufficient and Teach still having a shot, that contest for the title might already be decided.

The two protagonists of the Paramount War had completed their first round, and the outcome was clear.

Puncture Duke Link remained No. 1 of the Worst Generation, while Teach was no longer tied with Link for first and slipped from his position.
